this is brilliant; everything from the owner of a lonely heart drum fill, to the samples from the intro to the live and reconstructed version, to the close-up reference starting at 6:11, to the "now for something completely different"
It's a great song to enjoy, but what makes this most special is when you have heard all the originals its referencing/remixing then you hear the true genius of the mix - seriously well done mix!!
For added awesomeness, press the settings button (cog icon) at the top right of the video and set playback speed to 0.5 speed. Those intricate fills are just exquisite slowed down.
The church I attend does a sunrise Easter service on our local college campus. This means I have to be up and wide awake by 5am or earlier depending on when the service is going to start. For the last 2 years, this is the song I have used to wake up...and I will continue to since it rocks SO hard!
Fantastic mashup. Something to be proud of. Brings it up to date, plays the 'interacting with the sounds/samples' like the original, and just overall rocks my socks. Thanks for the jam! Steven
Like Anne, and JJ jumped into a blender, then added in the Trevor sauce and got to cooking! Great interpretation, update, rethink. You got this RIGHT! Long live AON!
I love this mix!!! love to have the sample bank! sounds like all the samples are AON noise"s sample banks. this is iike happy industry. i.E. skinny puppy/Hypo/LUxa; Hermes Pan. AON were doing this stuff 82? however british? still fun for me.Thanx for all outside the "boxes"
All of the glitching in this mix was done manually, by cutting up the tiny pieces of audio and placing them on the grid in Ableton Live. Rhythm Scholar still doesn't use software for the glitch / edit fx. :D
Oh, hellllllll, No!!!! I respect that y'all appreciate the genius of The Art of Noise, but this mix is off the charts... *AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY!* "A" for effort, but there's absolutely no focus on this mix. It's like someone dropped acid, finished off a 8 ball; and THEN decided to kick the remix. No! Just "No!"
Dare I say better edited and more rhythmic than most diversions. Although it's easier to do nowadays. Glad to hear that you have access to pretty much every version. I stupidly bought one, recorded it and took it back and swapped it for a different one etc, etc, etc.
This was cutting edge, this mix is cutting edge, This song stands the test of time, as this mix will. Off the charts!!!!!!!!!
Still returning regularly to listen to this great stuff. 🎶
WOW! THIS is how you do a remix! The distilled essence of the original AoN projected through the prism of a skilled remixer.

Its now 2020 & I have just discovered this mix. OH MY GOD!!!!! You are a genius!

That's important
Bring The noise! This is a brilliant re-construction of an art of noise classic...well done.
for getting the full value of this remix, you need some good speakers or earphones. Nice job. :)
