This song brings back some wonderful memories of my Dad. He always sang this song at family gathering. once we recorded him, he even sang at his own funeral. miss and love you so very much R.I.P Quigley D
Along with "Twixt twelve and Twenty", these are my favorite Pat Boone songs of all time. 1959 is unbeatable when it comes to great somgs, regardless of the artist. I'm so glad that it is my era.
this is the music Mom would play while I was growing up...R & R was certainly avialble then but I enjoyed hearing this music by Pat too.....thank you for remembering! Jeff
OMG I haven't heard this song for decades but am so happy to hear it again. Thank you so much for posting it. Pat has one of the smoothest crooning voices I've ever listened to and I enjoy all his oldies, AND you can actually hear what he was singing. Thanks again.
Hey, I'm your age and I remember I was a teenager when I bought a Pat Boone's just released album that included "For a penny"...I listened to it for years, and then -with the advent of cassettes, first, and then CDs - I stopped playing the vynil album but never got rid of that record....I still keep it stored carefully somewhere in a closet along with lots of other albums, not only Boone's but Elvis', Ricky Nelson's, Johnny Cash's...!
I don't know what to sayabout Mr. Boone other than he was referred to as Mr. Clean, while Elvis was shaking "em hips. He's an artist I could live without, I rarely tune him in on my laptop and the DJ dosen't play those songs from the Doowop era any longer, so I can do with the DJ too. My long time favorte by him was April Love but I now favor Beach Girl if avaliable & Speedy Gonzales, a far cry different than anything else Pat's know for like Don't Forbid Me & Moody River/a big dislike!
Pat always my favorite always great
