There seem to be some artifacts in the effect that make the sound gritty. The cleans turned gritty after adding the effect, and the drive became gritty as well. I’m sure it would work for something, but most times I like the reverb and chorus to reflect what I’m sending into them.

Agreed, I think these plugins, especially the Chorus likes to add extra textured elements. I tend to like mine cleans but these plugins are very tweak-able and to be free, I thought they sounded very good.
