Emily is crazier than any harpist I know. And she's the only harpist I know
Of all the harpists in the world, Emily is definitely one of them.
If I had a nickel for every "classical instrument reimagined" content creator I love to follow, I'd have 50 cents.
Which isn't much, but it's strange that it's happened twice 😄😅
@@ToMeTheFool she's the charlie browniest fr
@@Hyrulistic Who are the other ones? I must know.
My favorite sub
That ADG-1 gives off some definite old school Aphex Twin atmospheric vibes, especially with the 3rd Eye.
I agree! I need to do an Aphex Twin cover soon!
@@emilyharpist I'm absolutely here for it. Perhaps something like Heliosphan on SAW 85-92. I could envisage a harp arrangement working. You've probably already done a video on this but do you use a loopstation?
It’s great how Emily can be crazy and silly and fun but when she needs to be serious and explain a complex pedal or system shes right there too.
Great video!
💕 thank you so much!!
Methinks this is all a secret plot for the entire Asheville Music Tools team to rush out and spend all our profits on Pedal Brainz products.
Thank you Emily for a great video showcasing our products and the interoperability with others! We design our tools to expand your tones with other control voltage tools and you showed that perfectly!
Creative squad you got over there!
You are a mad genius Emily, and thats what music needs....especially these days....keep on truckin. Cheers!
Go check out OK Housecat lol. Talk about Mad Scientist! 🤣
@@J.C... Haha thanks so much! I definitely agree on the OKHC follow! I've made two videos with his stuff before and it's nuts!
That was a great 6/4 jam with the dirty delay! Remember to wash your hands after.
I heard from a reliable sauce last night, you can just put your hands in the toilet as it flushes!
Thanks Jon! Joe is SUCH a good drummer and was totally responsible for that happening! hahah
@@emilyharpist In the wise words of Bob Nanna. “Stay Six Kid!”
I’ll always have your back for 6…. Or 5, or 7, or 9…… for anything ⚡️💖⚡️
Love ya both!
I like that we decided to wear the same jacket for our videos today.
Great minds wear alike! Great video today!
Emily is hiding the 3 series plant from us, the 3 series tree when fully grown is the best pedal known to man
Pedals will finally grow on trees!
0:58 The opening sketch was hilarious, but that jam was absolutely amazing.
you could use an array of the third eyes, to make some kinda weird 3D Theremin
Hey Emily Hopkins and Russ! Dirty delay pedals are fine but can you do a vid about soiled delay pedals? Ride ride ride!
I will try! Ride ride ride!
🤣🤣🤣
Emily + Harp = beautiful. Emily + Harp + pedal = AMAZING. Keep up the great work! 😍
Those ludicolo are coming in nice! 👍
5:20 💚
They're growin!
Sometimes I feel like someone slipped some mescaline in my coffee when I see your thumbnails, but I love it. Keep up the good work!
You're all that's OK in life! Your madness is so inspiring. Your smile is a rifle. Cheers from Mendoza, Argentina! ❤️
I love the vintage sound. That would be perfect for a Lofi recording. Thanks for another great vid!
Thanks Sean! The vintage sound is so cool!
I really dig the first jam with the ACV-1! Real creepy yet somehow comforting... like a phrygian nightmare telling you "it's ok".
Yes!!! The ACV is so good for creepy vibes!!
I love modulation on effects, and having ways to do that in a live or playing situation without having to run everything back and fiddle with the dials is always wanted! Great video, great pedals, great noises!
So flippin epic!
SO EPIC!!!
I work with Damian, the guy who runs PedalBrainz, super cool dude with real weird taste in effects. Glad to see his devices get more exposure.
That left brain of yours is something else! And the pedals are pretty cool too…
Love the drums addition! Y'all sound great as always.
Maybe I'm just ready for spooky season, but the ACV-1 has a great spooky/haunting sound!
I thought the same thing!
It's so fun how our brains recognize a bit of randomness or modulation as "organic" or "authentic". So cool.
4:40 definitely sounds like an intro to a Boards of Canada song
This sounds AMAZING.
How dirty can it get?????
That's my question to modern society!!!
Is there a limit to dirtyness?
You guys are awesome!
hahaha thanks so much!!! YOU are awesome!
The thing I love most about your channel is that the harp together with your style really showcase the pedal effect. I'm a guitar player, and sometimes it's tough to translate a typical guitar demo of an effect to your personal style and tone. There's just something so clear, calming, and pure about EH and the harp.
Me likey.
So in my mind I'd think of the left brain as cross fading between 2 separate lfo waves and that cross fader is itself being controlled by a lfo.
I think the both sound really good.
Wow that's a cool pedal. The part you played at 5:20 was one of the coolest things I have heard on your channel. It sounded like a vintage recording but what you played still sounded modern. I really enjoyed this one👍
Thanks so much!
The light control brain thing is great.
it really is!
Wow that's absolutely stunning. I love the left brain.
Love the way your pulling pedals from your back pocket like it’s a never ending pocket 😂 wonder if you can get to Narnia through it
lmfao I always got them on me!
Lol it did make me Laugh Emily, you guys are so funny and Cool, definitely one of my favourite UA-cam channels. I bet a lot of people that subscribe didn’t realise that they needed a channel like this until they found it 👍🏼✌🏼
So many delicious sounds!! Especially with the help of left brain
I love your humor and gags - they are so entertaining!
haha thanks so much Brice!
The Left Brain has to be one of the coolest and most interesting things I have seen and heard in a long time. Amazing work!
It really is amazing!
Not only does the eye watch, it waves
Thanks for sharing this, these are some great pedals!
I absolutely LOVE the Left Brain - it's like pedals going modular with some advanced LFOs and CV mixing. The "Expression Looping" is a really cool idea - bringing a bit of DAW automation into the pedal world too. That seems like a powerhouse utility!
Thanks Brice! The Left Brain is incredible! It really is like going modular!
Biutifully quirky! Thank you!
You guys are a treasure. And even as a musician I never knew there was so many pedals outside of super niche home made stuff.
no u! Thanks so much for being here!
I want a left brain so baaaad. It looks so cool! And Damian is such a sweet person. Really cool stuff, Emily!!!
Emily is the best, delivering all we need to know in a fun and digestible way. And lately all her looks and outfits have been so cute! I swear these videos fall into some "oddly satisfying" category. So soothing to hear you talk about something you're excited about and hear some beautiful playing.
These brain and eye pedals are so sick, but that bit cruncher sounded so cool I need more
Really great sound best pedal channel
Sometimes I watch videos about things I know absolutely nothing about, this was one of them, still watched it from beginning to end lol
The Brain pedal is so versatile! Once you set it, you don't need the braincell anymore. When paired with those crunchy pedals though, hngh. Great sounds, great production, great video!
Thanks so much, Matthew!
Emily, I just dropped in really quick to let you know that Naomi SV shouted you out and basically called you an inspiration and an influence.
I think she likes you and your stuff!
If you haven’t seen her harp and deer video, watch it. It’s amazing!
Love ❤️ both you gals!
Naomi is AMAZING! She came to visit me in New York last month! I sure did see her video - you can see my version here: ua-cam.com/video/oDJDeFSc-Wc/v-deo.html
Great review! The ACV-1 is a unique add to the game for sure. The 3rd eye looks awesome. But the pedal brain w/ ADG-1 was a showstopper! I love having my left brained process pushed over into feeling without having to understand. Now I want both and figure out how you got that bitcrusher delay sound! ARGH!!! Great job again Emily and Russ! Pedal pushers! Cheers!!!
Sounds amazing 🤩
Thanks Sean!
Ooo I’ve been wanting a new chorus
5:20 is such a vibe, love what y'all did with the Left Brain and ACV too!
Thanks so much! HEY great job on your ACV-1 video!
Its one of the best sounds my ears have ever heard
Just when you think you've seen it all, something comes along to blow your mind. I have an extreme need for the Left Brain and the ADG-1. I apologize in advance to my bank account
Left brain with the rewind was a sonic master piece!
Super sweet video.
These songs are amazing.💛💛💛The pedals are awesome, but I'm more impressed with how creatively you use them. Really fantastic music.
If you had thousands of pedals and a world class harp you could do weird effects too.
The vintage performance section (at 05:16) really appealed to me, even though I usually like the more distorted pieces that you play! Incredible...
Thanks for sharing.
I still have my old BOSS analog delay pedal. Something very nice about analog vs digital, much warmer results.
I wonder what kind of kid she was in kindergarden..."Better than this? No, I don't think so!" - this line along with the visual content will carry me through the next week; just priceless 😀
hahaha thank you so much!
I need that little expression device it's so cute 😭😭😭🥺👽🍄🛸
I bet you never guessed in your wildest dreams that 123k+ people would be interested in listening & watching you play your harps through pedals, huh? Great job, Em! 🙏👌
123k people is A LOT. I think the LSU Tigers can fit a little over 100k people into their football stadium, Death Valley. Just to put it into perspective. Or MetLife Stadium, where the NY Giants and Jets play, can hold 84k people. Still A LOT of people. There's only like 60k in the little city I live in lol.
I like the "vintage recording" sound. 💙
The Melody at 5:19 spoke to soul
What the left brain does to the ADG is so killer. Like for real, what a secret weapon of a pedal to unlock new sounds. So damn cool. And yes, dirty is always more good #spinagain #willfowler
#rigged 😂
Friggin cool pedal
Such cool sounds! And I love that octopus necklace!
Those distorted delay sounds remind me a lot of the soundtrack of the movie 'Her' by Spike Jonze 😊👍
I already have a Koma optical CV controller, and a Clusterflux (sort of ACV-1alike) but that left brain seems handy
0:56 this is gorgeous
the stuff you play for your examples are magical as fuck and im glad i found this channel
Dang, shreddin’ on that vintage vibrato tone!
heck yeah!
Love the Ludicolo worship
Your openings just keep getting better.
WOW. Love it.
Isn’t it so cool?
I had to listen to 5:16 ish a few times. Gave me chills! @@emilyharpist
Using analog delay with low battery can get you similar dirty sounds!
This is so epic!!!! Swing down sweet chariot .. and melt my left brain!!!
🔥🎸🚀🌟👽
Cool pedal lov the vibrato
this sounds incredible. and the light controller thing is awesome
It's so awesome!
That pink box makes the dirty delay sound like the flashback sequence of Mortimer's in For A Few Dollars More. Pretty crazy!
omg it really does!
I understand nothing about effects boxes, well very little, but a great sound and very funny. ✌♥️🇬🇧
Yooooooo, that left brain pedal is bananas !
Dirty Gardener Em is my new favorite Em.
Hilarious intro! Very interested in those Pedal Brainz controllers now too.
I was somewhat expecting to see a Vermona Retroverb Lancet, but that AMT pedal is also nice.
So good!!! 😆💝✨
Emily has such an unpredicable wardrobe. She's always changing styles. 😀
I keep everyone on their toes!

Thanks!
OMFG thank you, Pulsating Sausage Boy!!! lmao it's legitimately always a pleasure to see you here on the channel, thanks for being here with us!! 🥰❤️
@@emilyharpist You’re awesome! It was a no brainer! I hope lots more people will contribute. You deserve it!
Idk... maybe it's the mid 2000's in me... but this is giving me some heavy Boards of Canada X Aim vibes! I love it!
Такая дама с пышными формами и талантами ! Прекрасно !! Как всегда лайк
I responded to everything Emily said in the outtake at the end with "that's what she said" 😂 Also I love that Emily shines a light on smaller pedal companies and their weird and wonderful pedals!!!
hahaha thanks so much! I LOVE shining a light on smaller builders, they can all be so passionate and weird! hahah
JPTR FX has some nice dirty delays :D . Love Asheville, gotta get back to Thirsty Monk and several breweries. Now I will see about visiting AMT also, great sounding pedals!
this was really entertaining.
I like when people get their hands dirty. ^^
3rd eye plus modulation sounds like a psychedelic trip
I'm the same with the right brain stuff ... the only problem is once you've found something you like getting that sound dialed back in is a nightmare! 🤪
Hey you gotta buy the ehx super tremolo pedal. Didn't get it new. Wish I did. One of the few pedals I would love to hear.
The coolest harpist ever - greetings from Thailand 🎼
Thank you!! Greetings!
love the brains
This reminds me of what I went threw while I was making my thing for the harp challenge lol! How dirty does it need to be? How weird does it need to get? Haha
Remarkable. Not just the rowdy jacket either.
