What a lovely channel, how many knitting projects do you have on the go at once? All the knitting you showed looked just beautiful. Found this video looking for advice on the 1042-s form. The US is holding a whole 2 dollars on my behalf, I will just pass it on to my accountant at the end of our financial year. Does one still require 4000 watch hours, a bit rude as YT now show ads on videos that are not monetised. Anyway young lady good luck with your other channel and I hope you qualify for monetisation soon.

Thank you Sheila, I have been searching the net for days how to fill and send them to US as advised me by my brokers.
If you look on your Google Adsense account, we now have to provide proof that we are UK citizens as Google now pays us from Ireland we do have a Tax Treaty with Ireland so shouldn't be paying any tax to them..but if they don't get that info they will be witholding some of our revenue for tax purposes..

Here's a question i have if you can help, does our inland revenue automatically tax youtube income if your above the tax threshold, or do i have to tell them.

When you are self employed you have to tell hmrc yourself and that will mean putting down any income you get from UA-cam when you do your tax returns

Just came across this video after looking at the documents once again. I kept going back to them because I had fears that I was supposed to do something with them but I've now heard from 2 sources (including you) that I don't need to do anything with them and that I can rest and file them away! Thank you for easing my mind. I thought I was going to get into trouble for not doing anything :)
You don't need to do anything with the forms from the US, but if you look in your Google Adsense account we now have to provide proof that we are UK Citizens as we are now paid From Ireland, we do have a TaxTreaty with Ireland so will not be paying any tax to them..but if they do not get proof they will be witholding some of our revenue for tax purposes..
@@sheilasknittingtipsandothe3191 thank you for the reply! I haven't monetised my channel since 2021/2022 but I got the form last year and was worried. I'm guessing I don't need to do anything now that I haven't been earning from youtube anymore
Hi Sheila , just found you we are Neighbours In believe Ime in Geordie land , Do we not have to fill anything in online to say we are exempt ! , the last time it came up in the YT studio to apply online for a tax treaty for being in the Uk ! I filled it in last year as my earnings go to my accountant ! I wasnt sure if what I filled in online last year covers now ! just confused , thanks for your Info ;)
You do not have to fill anything in online, i recieved a letter from the US and having looked up all info on it we in the UK do not have to fill in anything, my letter i will just hang onto just in case the HMRC want to see it, the UK have a tax treaty with the US so we do not pay any tax to them, you fill in the forms online when you are first monetised and that is it. You don't have to do anything else..🤗
@@sheilasknittingtipsandothe3191 thankyou , I was 1st monetised in 2018 but I only filled the form online last year when I got a notification from Google Adsense , so maybe that was it ;)

I know Michelle was nothing at all in My Adsense account what i had to do about the tax forms, nothing in the letter either, it's 5 degrees here at the moment bloody freezing lol..

I love knitting with the Beaches Sandra such lovely colours, i don't always remember what row i am on i sometimes have to count them lol, the picture on my wall is a picture of Wooler in 1920s a friend who lives there painted it for me he's a brilliant artist, shows them sometimes in a little gallery in Wooler, be going to my Grandaughters soon..

i am not easily fooled Jean, i knew it wasn't a scam the same papers were in my youtube account where the money goes from the adverts, the Beaches wool is lovely and nice to knit with too, the baby blanket can pass as a lap blanket as well, it kept my lap warm while i was knitting it lol..

You can use chunky Jean i used 2 balls of double knit knitted together i had 4 balls and almost a full ball left over.🤗

Got these forms today. Was confused. If this is because of youtube and people in US watching videos, why all the other countries where people also watch youtube videos and have ads do not send any kind of forms? What about countries without any treaties, do we have to pay taxes to all of these countries? I don't get it.
If you are in UK you don't have to pay anything just file the forms with your tax info, no need to worry about them..

I am not even British citizen, and not US citizen and English is not my native language so it is really very confusing and I can not really understand these forms.
I just know that we in the UK have a treaty with The USA and do not have to pay any tax to the USA, you need to look up the situation in whatever country you are in and you might have to pay tax to the USA not all the other countries, google the form number that will tell you a lot of info you need to know..🤔

If you live in the Uk you do not have to do anything with the forms just file them away and forget about them..🤗
