I don't think ppl truly appreciate all the logistics it took to bring this show to life with this level of quality. It's easy to be a hater when you're untalented. These guys made magic happen and I'm just grateful that they did it with so much love and care for the original. Looking forward to seasons 2 and 3!
Yeah but that still doesn't excuse the awful job the writers did. The directors did well but the writing sucked in most of the episodes, especially the first half
@@gamingparadise3390 Exactly! All we want is some good story telling that makes sense from start to finishes. No exposition dumps beacuse they couldn't carft a good formula. Or time jumps with characters teleporting everywhere beacuse they was short on production costs.

As a fan who read the real world through the animated series as a kid, the live-action was a sweet treat as an adult.

I totally love getting a look at behind the scenes of all the work that goes into making our favorite movies and TV shows what they are.. the “magic “ of it all. Technical experts, make up artists, costumes, the special effects…all that comes together to world building for us to enjoy. 😊
Making a film or series is very hard job

We need a minimum of 10 seasons. They need to slow down the pace a bit from season 2. I understand why they had to rush season 1 but it's still good. Never will be better than the original but still great on its own

The book 2 was my favorite
All the bending and special effects are one of the best in this series. My fave are the cast of course but every single person who's part of this series need to hear this, "GOOD JOB!" You all are great, improve on what needs improvement but know that majority loved the show and you brought so many new ATLA fans. Excited for s2 and 3! Much love!

Though this is not exactly the same as the cartoon I really appreciate this show. Especially in its ability to create the Avatar world perfectly and recreate Iconic scenes because this allows me to look back at the cartoon and imagine the original story line in a more tangible way. Super excited for season 2 and 3, hope to see more of these actors and their bond.

GODAMNIT i knew there was moren orher water tribe battle material, I missed the moment where the moon was at peak and they own the fire nation, and pakku going bananaz as well, I liked what they did show, but really missed that extra battle scene, I guess it all went into avatar oceanzilla

The wire concepts are always so gnarly to look at. I cant ever imagine being tied to tht and just having to trust tht the crew's got ur back as u leap 10 feet into the air and have to land back down again. Id be shitting my pants constantly 😅

The show itself gets a 6/10 because the writing broke it beyond repair, but DANG if the stunt work wasn't awesome. I would honestly watch a 10 hour video just of all the fight training and rehearsal. It's honestly cooler in the conceptual videos

That's what we call a mixed bag. Some good, some not so good.

What I mean by broken beyond repair is that, even though the bending looked great, and the scenes were well shot, and the music slayed, and the costumes and props and production design were all top tier, even though some of the actors were standouts and managed to pull off excellent performances (in particular Dallas Liu and Ian Ousley), the writing is so nonsensical, clunky, and full of changes that outright ruin the story at times, that the show fails as a whole because the writing is the central, foundational part of any story, and the foundation is broken. The dialog is cringy, the story beats make no sense and cheapen one of the richest storylines in TV history. I can tell that Gordon Cormier is a wonderful casting choice for Aang, he's got the stuff, I can see that he is thinking about the character and there are parts when he is so genuine, but he's held back by awful lines and a character drained of personality and nuance. I hope they get better directors and writers if they get a second season because if nothing else, that kid deserves material that will rise to the level of effort he's putting in. Because the writing is so important to the story, and the writing fails, the show fails, even though there are a lot of parts that work, or even excell, in a vacuum.
