Best way to get rid of Jello on Visuos is to add a small ring of fun-tak mounting putty around camera - works like charm. I even paint it black to blend in to qwad!

Great demo. I have that wifi range extender also. It looked like your phone is a better transmitter than the regular transmitter that comes with the quad. I have not tried out my wifi repeater yet but from the diagram in the manual, it shows the extender say 300 feet from the transmitter. To me this means if you drive your extender down the road and set it down somewhere, and then drive back to your normal take off point with the quad, you should be able to fly towards the wifi extender and then past it for some distance increasing your distance to close to a mile or km. I have yet to try this, and it might be a very interesting test to do, because every one thus far has just set the extender next to their take-off point. Anyway, I will give it a try some time soon and let you know how it turns out. Maybe I have it all wrong LOL, and you need the extender at your take off point, but i am not sure. lol Happy Flying.
That's exactly what I thought also but it works better with the extender next or closer to the phone than in between the drone and the phone. I thought it would extend it further but I got more snow and break up testing it at the house walking around the neighborhood.
The WiFi repeater is mounted on 3m (height) extendable pole and it is placed about 20 feet in front of you. This setup will give you the best experienced extended range to fly.

I found that it works for me best when the repeater is closest to the transmitter vs when the repeater is placed away from it in my testing with the iPhone 6 Plus with a variety of quadcopters so far. Perhaps the distance is improved by placing it away from the tx but as for the latency, I’ve noticed less when it is closer to the tx :)
Right on, finally someone takes advantage of the VR feature that is in so many of these apps. Sure, its not 5.8g, but its still a little fun to mess around with :)

It is so cheap of a product and extends the range so much I wonder why quadcopter makers don’t include it in their WiFi circuitry within their set up. We already have 300 meter distance on some of these toy quads and with this setup, makes for a good experience.

I am looking forward to testing all my toy grade wifi quads in future videos to see how they perform :) the Mantis85 I purchased arrived quickly from GB the other day so when the weather permits, I look forward to trying it out 👍

On iOS it requires the drone Wi-Fi to have a password after the newest update and my drone doesn’t have a password? Do you know how I can get it to work on iOS? Thanks.

The bugs5w is a 5g wifi and the repeater is for a 2.4g wifi so it will not work.

I'm using this vr goggles that came with the AIR HOGS SENTINEL drone but you can use any cheap vr goggles :)
As of todays date, this will No longer connect to unsecured networks. It will not even try. Just spent the better part of an hour trying every possible way to connect and it will still not let me.
you need to download an older version of the mihome app for it to allow access to unsecure networks

xs 809s!!! This one can fly for 15 -18 minutes. You don't need gps on a toy quad. Thank you :)

The black thing is a battery with a usb outlet powering the repeater.

RC Escape I just picked up the repeater for 9 bucks with your link, I used some points. I think it would really go far if you modded the WiFi antenna like he did.
I flew the Bugs 3 with the 2watt booster and I went really far off of a mountain today, I’ll put up the video in a couple of days, it is an awesome quad for camera work👍🏻

Excellent video. If you still can remember, how did you connect the Xiaomi Wifi Repeater 2 to the XS809S wifi network? When I try I get message in Xiaomi Mi Home 'unencrypted routers is not supported'.
It's okay found older version of Xiaomi Mi Home androidapksfree.com/apk/mihome-5-1-38-apk-download/ and this supports adding unencrypted router.

Please help. My visuo (battle shark) motor cable colors are yellow and green (side B). I bought new motors (4pcs) and the colors are blue + red, black + white. Which one should i use to replace a broken motor?
Try one. If it spins the wrong way, flip the wires :)

you have to download the older version and set it to mainland china i think its 5.1.1 the newer version doesnt allot unsecure wifi networks

The easiest way is to use an aio vtx and mount it on the top and use a small 1s batt.

Hi mate, thanks for the video, but I 've got a "small" problem, I am trying to connect my Visuo XS816 with the xiaomi 2 repeater and it says that it can't connect to a net that it doesn't have any encryption, can I bypass this kind off setback or not?

Use 5.x.x version and even if this thing will say connection timed out , when it blinks blue light it's connected

I am gonna try find someone really good with networks and ask for his help 🙂.
For now I 've done the antenna modifications and I got 480 meters range using the transmitter and only 150 meters FPV using the app, could be worse 😄!!!

Hi nice channel,i saw this video a few weeks ago and thought great let me give this a try,but it seems that the mi wifi 2 will not conect with the visuo ? its grey on the wifi list and wont let me connect,anybody else had this issue ?
mine connected just fine. does it connect to your phone directly? then it should connect to the repeater.

The Visuo xs812 is a 5g wifi network and will not work with the xiaomi mi wifi repeater which is 2.4g wifi network.
@@RCEscape I thought 'this comment is 7 months old, maybe they have an updated Mi WIFI'. I ordered the MI WIFI 2 because it was 802.11N. regardless, even the MiWIFI 2 is only 2.4g. There are 5g portable wifi extenders made by other companies but they are 2 or 3 times more expensive than a Mi Wifi.

Aubrey Mccoy if you watch the video you’ll conclude it is pretty good. I found it weak against a 10mph+ wind, and in a world of 4K, 720p is fuzzy video, but otherwise - it was excellent.
if you repeater is saying it cannot connect to unsecure networks download the older version of the mihome app and set it to mainland china. click add device. click add device manually. press the pic of the repeater with the reset button follow the instructions on screen when the repeater goes blue and the app say timed out youre officially connected. stop pulling your hair out. have some fun with your drone. here is the link for the older version androidapksfree.com/apk/mihome-5-1-1-apk/

You don’t need to connect to the router to work.
You should look at more videos on how to use it with a drone.
