Well done nne! It´s good to hear that my husband is not the only one not being patient with teaching Igbo and that I´m not the only one where people don´t understand what I say when I try to speak Igbo haha. I´m looking forward to hear Igbo in our house daily too with the kids. A sunny hug from Vienna
Nwanyi Ocha,ndewooo...the basic steps are
1.learn and master the alphabets/their pronunciations.
2.learn how to pick out the words based on the alphabets leant.
3.then you start reading short Igbo language sentences and from there moved on to read short stories in Igbo language novels.
Kudos nwanne m....
Udo diri gi n'ezi n'ulo gi.
This was lovely to watch, the passion alone is just enough. Well done and peace to you and your family.
Just love your passion for our language. Ezenwa is favoured
My Igbo teacher sadly died of covid last year but his kind voice can still be heard, in the app I developed for him. I mention it because it contains all of the methods you talked about on your Igbo journey, learning words , phrases, hearing the correct pronunciation, alphabet and singing songs

Thanks for this! I’m Oyinbo wife, too! Trying to teach my children.😊
Goodluck.
I'm Igbo and I want to learn in my twenties. Learning German in uni inspired me to do this.
Can you proud of speaking igbo the is .But look at wat the white woman is doing
Hi. Join me. I teach Igbo here. I'll love to have you onboard

Most igbo women are just stupid
I love this woman because all she said about Igbo language and learning it is true
You are a true inspiration. As an African who speaks 3 Bantu languages & had to learn 4 European languages, incl German & Latin ( which I quickly forgot BTW), I know where you are coming from. African & European languages are poles apart in almost everything. For instance in German & Latin gender cases are extremely important. But insignificant in most African languages. Here tone can be crucial to word meaning. Du can either mean Du or er/sie. Depending on the tone level. Now imagine gossiping & wanting to saying Sie ist sehr haesslich but you get the tone wrong & you end up saying Due bist sehr haeslich! You could lose a dear friend. Likewise ich can mean ich or er/sie/es. All very confusing.
I think you are doing such a great job bec you have thing for languages & are happily married to an Igbo. But most importantly bec you love your kids so much that you want to know what is going on deep in their souls. A mother's love is boundless. You are the living embodiment of one of our proverbs here: "A mother holds sword by its blade." Viel Glueck und viel Erfolg!
Congratulations to you. I understand when you say it is not easy to learn the Igbo language, I felt the same way when I was learning the Russian language in Moscow. Meanwhile, my first language is English, I had to learn the Igbo language in my teens, I didn't find it funny and I still have to be careful whenever I am in my home town with elders.
You are and would be a good inspiration and example to others who would learn the Igbo language (in my opinion, the best language ever).
Why did you have to struggle to learn Igbo as a kid? Weren't you born in Igboland?
I am trying to learn. My friend is teaching me. His idea is to go slow and easy.
Ndewo nwanyi anyi, chukwu gozie gi na ezunulo gi. Chukwu Nye anyi Biafra
God bless you, my dearest wife.
It just gives me happiness seeing People trying to learn Our Language.
I've always been amazed seeing multilingual people so that motivated me to explore and learn something new and currently I speak 3 languages and also To witness someone commit to learning a new language is Just Incredible.
You are amazing and this video is educational.
In my opinion, Honestly, the most effective way of Learning Igbo for someone of different cultural background is to be surrounded by people (at least 1 or 2) that speak Igbo. Or it would take years to learn the basics not even talking about going in depth. Well, everyone's different and have their own learning pace . Like she said, never give up
Whoa. Wow. I like this.
For me Igbo is easy 😊
I've been teaching Igbo language for more than ten years, maybe because it's my language, it's a very easy language. I've had materials for publication to help others but finance has been a big barrier. I have a full text book of more than ten chapters ready for publication.
Maybe you could find a way to publish it on some internet platform, either for money or in order to popularise your content for the future (?). Not sure how it works, though, and I have no experience with anything like that. Apart from that, maybe one day you are able to find a language textbook publisher that's small enough or new enough on the market that it provides more opportunities than those with an already established business model, although I've also heard that some publishers may underpay, delay payment or try to force people to sign contracts with unfavourable conditions regarding copyright law hidden in fine print.
A new subscriber . I didn't know you have a youtube channel before now. Been following your Facebook page. Jisie ike Nwanyi ocha .Keep it up
This is impressive and lovely 🥰
Don’t worry you will learn it and it will start flowing
We love you so so much ❤❤❤, but please focus much on the children too
Wow! I'am so impressed. I can feel the passion you have for this language.
You're one in a million congratulations to both of you.
keeping your marriage and rising your kid with their father is one of the most important gift a woman can give to her children. Keep it up.
Your children can teach you easier than your husband 😅😅❤️🇳🇬
I started to learn igbo recently . As I am a singer/rapper it helps me to write songs using Igbo :) I really need those books you showed in the video, I love learning from the paper, traditional book instead of internet ! I meela nwanne !
Asụsụ Igbo atọka!
I must say I am beyond impressed. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to witness your accomplishment. Congratulations on achieving your goal. I ADORE YOUR FAMILY BOND WITH A PASSION. Your husband teaching your beautiful children brought me to tears. Tears of joy. The old Igbo ways, traditions, and unity are dying. Your videos just gave me hope that our culture can be salvaged. The younger generation has adopted this mindset of being what they believe black Americans to be. What they see on t.v. and hear in musical lyrics is not what majority of black Americans represent. It is what is publicized. I have so much to say to you but iam now rambling on. I just want to thank you, and your family for sharing. Your videos are a blessing. Your beautiful family is a HUGE GIFT to the WORLD. Thank you thank you thank you. You should give yourself a bit more credit on your hard work. I see a persistent woman with so much determination, strong, adaptive to Life, courageous, and whom loves her kids so much she wants them to embrace being Igbo. Which makes you an achiever. I DONT THINK YOU GIVE UP EASILY. 12 years that’s dedication and love.
My goal is to bring the old ways back to Igbo children/young adults who have lost the old Igbo culture/ways.
Thank you keep posting and your solid family unit. Which is one of the top 3 beautiful things I have witnessed this year.
Blessing on you. Blessings
Such impressive effort, from a beautiful soul. I'm motivated...You're doing great!

you are so amazing, keep on the good work
You're doing very very well
Well done Adamma
Good one nneoma ❤❤❤❤
You are doing great already, what you really need, to be able to pronounce all the igbo words is first spend time learning the alphabet.ones you master the alphabet, the rest can be easier, to pronounce or memorize.
Nne, you are doing well with your Igbo. There are plenty UA-cam videos you can use learn Igbo pronunciation. Jisi ike.
Good work our inlaw
Well Done Nwanyi Ocha...👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
It’s funny you should mention this. I kinda have the same scenario in my family.
I speak and write Igbo fluently.
However Wifey’s not that strong in using the language. We speak sparingly to each other.
However for the kids, they rarely even understand a word, and I desperately want to change that. I’ll definitely look for the books you recommended, but I’d also like to add that I kinda realized that since I was the only person in the house who spoke Ibo fluently I had to ensure it is spoken more frequently around the home. An example, whenever my daughter’s want anything, they have to ask in Ibo. 😊
I’ll also encourage Wifey to speak more often.
You have nonidea how important this is, as the Language is actually dying. You’d be surprised to know the percentage of the Ibo’s abroad that cannot converse in Ibo, talk less their kids.
Well done once more, and post more videos on your progress.

Nwanyi ocha the tribe is Igbo and the language is Igbo not Ibo.You can ask your husband.
Thats mean dont discourage her even u dont speak English than britons or Americans
@@a.muchemi4360 I'm not discouraging her. This is part of the learning too.No offense meant
don't forget she's oyibo she may not speak as 100 percent as you want her to do, even the English you are speaking you are still not Perfect so nwanne na small small
Do you need to be reminded how difficult it is learning a new language? All you need do is encourage her and not point her pronounciation.
Very nice
Im sorry igbo is one of the easiest languages to learn!
Wouldn’t be for a German person…
HELL NO!🤢🤮🤮🤮
