Good to see this game in all of its Arcade glory. For those of you that own Killer Instinct Gold, see how the graphics of the Arcade are so much better? Not to mention the quality of the music. The good thing was that the gameplay stayed the same.

I was 16. Internet was just beginning to get popular back then. The first thing I looked up for was KI2. The arcade machine was located so far away in a town I'd never been to. I took trains and buses to go there just to play it. the 20$ note in my pocket was soaked with my sweat. It costed 2$ per play. I was so disappointed about the change of combo system but I was happy on my way home, listening to the soundtracks I recorded using Walkman.
Was 9 years old at a pizza place with my family. They had some arcade games set up, and that's how I found this game. I never wanted to leave that damn place. 90's forever.
I didnt make this video to show some gaming skills, but it was requested by some users to see a playthrough of Killer instinct 2 with their favorite character Jago. And in fact I don't play much arcade games, most of the time i have been playing UT99 and CS 1.6 online.
Kalamarinotec..that move was the 5th (hidden) ender that Jago does. You have to do all 4 enders before you can do the 5th. To do the 5th ender do a combo and then do the same motion as Jago regular uppercut but using the Medium punch button.
@TBiggs03 You are right. Midway should've featured Killer Instinct's Characters in the eighth Mortal Kombat game instead of DC Comics Characters. It would've been great.
No, actually Rare owns the KI series, and since Microsoft bought Rare, that means they now own the series. They even renewed they're license last year so maybe we'll see an HD remake of both KI 1 & 2.

it's called the Spirit Move, it takes a portion of your health bar and saves it for if you die, whereupon you get that amount back and you get another chance to fight
@Lollipop708 There wasn't even a Mortal Kombat game in 2000. Besides, Mortal Kombat had digitized sprites in their 2D games while Killer Instinct had pre-rendered sprites. That's a huge difference in graphics.
@Dwane1196 for the record man KI3 is in really high demand to be made so there is good chance that it will be made but when its made nobody know although they did hint on making KI3 in banjo kazooie nuts & bolts for xbox360 same company that made KI they hinted it in banjo kazooie at some stage through the game you find bottles that mention KI3 and also christmas card mention KI3 and you get musical sheets in that game that lets u play the KI game theme so its a kind of a teaser.
@TBiggs03 I agree with u man. This year and next year fighting games are really making a combeback, I mean Mortal Kombat, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Street Fighter x Tekken... If they brought this back it would make it all perfect.

While Jago has a similar move set to Ryu's from the SF series, many other fighting game protagonists like Kain Blade (Golden Axe: The Duel), Hanzo (World Heroes series), Star Savior (Perfect Soldiers), Billy and Jimmy Lee (Neo-Geo Double Dragon), Kazuya (Kaiser Knuckle), Syoh (Dead Dance), Rolf (Galaxy Fight: Universal Warriors), Rai (Waku Waku 7), Joe (Power Athletes) and several others also have similar move sets.
Oh God!! Between 1:40 and 2:10 its just so E-P-I-C! ULTRAAAAAAA COMBOOOOOO!!! this is when fighting game where just awesome! Theres nothing nowadays compared to this :( Instead, make places for a 10th Teken game, a Mortal Kombat vs. Batman game or even worst : japanese fighters with.. Star Wars Characters... (yes, im pointing at you Soul Calibur 4) I miss K-I :(
I loved playing this back in the day in the arcade, had people watch over me play it wondering how i performed the combos and just loved how the announcer would shout out ULTRA COMBO that boomed out from the arcade cabinet speakers.

@thearch102 you have to do 5 diferent finisher and at the end have the power bar full all 12 do a opener then F,FD,D,BD,F,Mk,hold F.fiers kick keep doing that till you get 4 dont know what is call but ill say wind kick which they hit for like 4 time them after the last 4 add the ultra

@EvilShadowD Im sure its only published by nintendo and not copyrighted. killer instinct arcade was made by rare and midway and nintendo only published it on super nintendo and killer instinct gold on n64. When rare broke away from nintendo they took the killer instinct brand with them.

Noo!! the developers clearly said that the new KI storyline takes place right after KI2 so it is a sequel. When they were interviewed and breaking down each character model and design they said each model tells a story about them after the second KI so no this new KI is a sequel.
You know, the producer wants to experiment and make this available for download. If it does good, he might consider a new game... So if they do release this we need to buy it out!

i love the first one but the 2nd one i think they fuck up on combos and fatalitys, combos was harder to do, fatalitys had to be done in the middle of battle not at the end unless ultimate combo but that was also in the first one, no dancing anymore or dark shadows and that was the best part but the rest was awsome
Jago defeated/destroyed Fulgore MK.1 Chief Thunder defeated/killed Spinal T.J.Combo Killed Riptor(Thus the eyepatch) Orchird defeated(but not killed)Saberwulf Glacius Killed Cinder and escaped with his life from Ultratech. Orchird went and defeated/Killed Eyedol which at his last breath opened a rift in time thus leads two thousand years in the past. Gargos is the "Tiger Spirit" which Jago serves and he "betrays" Jago. Maya, Tusk, and Kim are the new characters.
I think it may be on the 360 because the new Xbox is more than likely going to take quite a while for it to be released since they've just announced it. But who knows?
