It's good to see the stadiums filled again. Have a beer for me. You cannot purposefully hand a ball into touch. That is a penalty. In the case of a penalty preventing a try the ref should (in his mind) erase the offending player from the pitch to decide the outcome. The next closest England player was too far away to have prevented a try being scored, so the Try is awarded.
It was a penalty try because if the English player tried to catch the ball but knocked it forward it wouldn't have been a penalty try, he blatantly pushed the ball into touch plus there was no covering defender so yeah good decision the yellow card can be a bit contentious though
Exactly, any ball that goes into touch deliberately, must be from a kick. Thrown or punch in the situation where he is that last line defender with the international winger, it would have been a try anyway. There’s not much a margin of doubt, it’s exact.
England have got a lot of injuries, which is where Farrell/Tuilagi/Lawes are out. But that's not a good excuse, we also have a very large player base and should be able to cope - particularly if you listen to some England fans who think that Farrell shouldn't be in the team, that Tuilagi is past his best, and that we've loose forwards better than Lawes. England were poor in attack, they had enough possession and territory and didn't really do well with it. If they're allowed to play together without changes, it should get better in later games. The penalty try was because the referee felt the England player didn't make a genuine attempt to catch the ball, and he both knocked it forward and towards the touchline and out of play. Either of those things, done deliberately, would be a penalty. The rules for awarding a penalty try mean that if you remove the person who committed the penalty from the field of play and let things continue, then if the referee thinks a try would have been scored - in this case, would the Scottish winger have caught the ball and strolled over the line with no-one to stop him -- then he should award the penalty try and generally give a card to the defender. A couple of minutes after England's hooker was sent to the sin-bin, Russell kicked the ball into the corner for England to have a line-out close to their own line. Which was pretty mean of him, because it meant England had to have somebody throw in who doesn't normally do that. England managed to mess it up, which is where the scrum that Scotland got the penalty that won them the game from.
it is illegal to through or punch the ball into touch on purpose. That is a yellow card offence. Because Darcy Graham would have otherwise caught the ball and there would have been no defender to stop him scoring, it was a penalty try. This is the full 7 points, no kick needed. It might seem like just luck, but this try was orchestrated by Finn Russell in the previous plays. He is a wizard !
in rugby union a player is not allowed to throw or punch a ball out of the field of play, hence the penalty & yellow card. The penalty try was because the infringement stopped a potential try from being scored .
The penalty try and yellow card. First, it's a deliberate knock-on. An accidental knock-on is a scrum, but a deliberate knock-on, where you bat down a pass intended for an opponent without attempting to catch it, is a penalty. Throwing the ball into touch is also a penalty. So Cowan-Dickie has prevented an almost certain try by committing two penalty offences. If you prevent an almost certain try by committing a penalty infringement, the referee can give a penalty try - awarding your opponents the 7 points they would have scored. And because it was a flagrant penalty, he shows him a yellow card as well. It's the result of some very clever play by Finn Russell. He played it like a clever baseline tennis player. The first cross-kick over to the left drags the England defence all the way over there, then he gets it back and does a second cross-kick all the way over to the right, leaving the England hooker, Cowan-Dickie, as the only defender anywhere near it. And he did the only thing he could do.
I thought it was just a penalty he suppose to attempt to catch the ball, purposely knocking the ball out of play is foul. As for the penalty try i thought was a big call, I thought was just a penalty. But that winger in his form probably would have caught and scored a try.
Cowan dikie blatantly volleyballed it into touch and purposely landed on his buttox to feign an awkward landing and pretend he was injured. 100% yellow and a penalty try

Hey man love your videos, I think you would get more views if you put "American reacts" in the title though

That's a good looking England squad though with joe marler on the bench they just under performed like they always do sometimes with Eddie jones
Excuses wee chap 😁🤔🥴🤯🙄🙄😂😂😂😂🙋♂️🤭😂😂😂😂😂😂
The english player made an obstruction to the last defender, so it's penalty(transformed) try, a bit heavy hu ^^
