  • Vernacular Architecture in Ghana.
Site visit turned into a little adventure.
I spotted this building in Saltpond which has a striking resemblance to the Nubuke foundation gallery in Eastlegon.
But the highlight is on the screen along the building facade. Made of raffia from palm branches which is in abundance in the locality hence vernacular architecture
It’s an old primary school building which is no longer in use.

Despite being dilapidated, it's a stunning structure. Love the diferent textures and how it hugs the land. Would it be safe to go inside and tour it, and is it possible to find out who designed it?

I am not sure who designed the structure. I have been meaning to find out. It is not safe for habitation. I could only document from a distance
