I look at Relapse like a movie. Not everyone likes horror movies but that doesn’t mean they’re bad. It’s just personal preference. Tbh when you listen to the entire album front to back, including the skits, it makes a lot more sense. Relapse is basically a diary of Eminem’s addiction: what he was thinking, what he was doing, what he was feeling etc. It’s really a brilliant project and his showcase of skill is incredible. Some of the best rhyme schemes and flows I’ve ever heard.
I just love the music box sound in the background! ❤ On this album, the serial killer songs had great beats. I love Same song and dance. I hope Cliff will give it a try!

I haven’t heard this song before. THANKS AOD, for real! I love Halloween and have an annual bash. I’m always looking for songs to add to the playlist. You need to do Buffalo Bill from Relapse: Refill. The dude goes Cyprus Hill style and his rhyme schemes are fucking insane! When you say this is Slim Shady, this is how I’ve always thought of Relapse, it’s The Slim Shady LP2. It even mirrors the way that we had a couple Em tracks, on SSLP we had ‘If I Had’ and ‘Rock Bottom’ where he’s more Marshall/Em talking real shit, just like Relapse has the 2 with DeJaVu and Beautiful. SSLP was his first major album release that got him out in the massive audiences, then Relapse was the album he came back in to the spot light with. The two have their similarities man. If these albums were like comic book movies then Relapse would’ve been released first, followed by the SSLP as an origin story 😅
Oh my God! You make me so happy rn with this (not yet watched, even). Music Box is such a dope song from this album, I love it! That beat is just *chef's kiss* for me. It's one of the unholy threesome with My Darling and Deja Vu.
Yeah this relapse album is where Eminem is becoming sober so he's going down a dark path that's why their is so many serial killer references, plus he's obsessed with the horror genre and dateline stuff
Wow, I used to know every word to this song, then completely forgot about it until I went through your videos today. I didn't even recognize the title, but soon after listening, I could remember almost every word. Thank you for this, it made my day.
" simple as that cadaver her " simple as abracadabra or the Harry Potter version even closer sounding Avada Kedavra , simple as a magic trick or a swipe of a wand. Amazing
Appreciate the reaction as always. Would like to see you do “no apologies” next or sometime soon. Came out around 2010 I believe. Great song but heavily slept on in my opinion
@@javieralejandroholguin4146 the more I think about it the more I think I may be mistaken to be honest dude, he definitely did a couple of tracks from the Shady XV album, Shady XV, Guts Over Fear and Fine Line but yeah, the more I think about it the more I’m starting to think I was wrong about No Apologies. Sorry if I am man.
I had to re learn how to rap after he's OD in December 07 “You know, a lot of times, especially with the ‘Relapse’ record, when I first started learning how to rap again, because of the drug situation that I went through and having to relearn a lot of things, that was one of those things that it was like: ‘Well, if it rhyme, say it.'” and used so many because he wasn't able to bend or make 2 half words fit yet was leaning how to rap again so it helped but when dropped with Recovery 3 years we got old em back at 100% with not afraid

Also im pretty sure this song is about addiction, if u think of it that way youll probs catch it in a lot of the lines but the killing is a craving like how addiction is, and rhe chorus explains it the best. "You keep calling me" "when we're worlds apart you mean the world to me, so when you call, i come, i will answer" its just something that doesnt end.
I get “demented Halloween lullaby” vibes from this. It makes me want to curl up on the couch with my dog and a glass of wine and watch some serial killer documentary while the fireplace crackles in the background. 😳😂 The production on this is so weird and out there, but so amazing and brilliant at the same time (same can be said for the lyrics and delivery, obviously). It’s making me really wanna see Eminem produce some music for and star in something creepy - like a Mike Flanagan Netflix project or something like that. What’s really interesting is comparing this to “3 AM.” You really could hear the lack of sureness/conviction/confidence in Em’s voice on “3 AM,” but it sounds like it’s back (or at least 90% back) on this track. Just wondering how far apart in time the two tracks were written and/or recorded?
Between you and Stevie knight man I can’t wait for your reactions!!! You should for sure break down the Eminem show !!! No one has done it but a couple songs
@Cliff Beats You should react to Eminem’s “The Warning” diss to Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon. So good! I was reminded of it because MC has an album and song named Music Box😁
Instead of releasing relapse 2 he released refill which is the deluxe version of relapse... everyone was hoping it was relapse 2 & run it down before it was released... go see 👀 xxx

Bagpipes from Baghdad is my favorite song on the album. If you cannot recall the lyrics it is worth checking out again.
Refill is disc #2 basically like music to be murdered by side b
Relapse was the first album after proof died, he was in a dark place and shady was the dominant personality.
