The Artificer one got me. I had a halfling Artificer in my campaign who liked to surprise me at the start of each game session with 2 or 3 new inventions that the player insisted were scientifically accurate, and I had to always remind him that we were playing a fantasy RPG that didnt reflect reality and he needed to bring this stuff up to me before he whipped it out mid combat and killed everything on the board with chlorine gas.
1:20 real tho. I played a tabaxi who could move 200ft per turn. My DM was horrified. I could also walk on water and I had a glider made from a pterodactyl.

0:56 I have a feeling this is going to be the case in my group. The paladin's charisma stat is higher than the bard's thanks to insane stat rolls, so that on top of being a walking tank sounds like a nightmare for a DM.
artificer after downtime is so real. i played two artificers. one made himself a set of power armour with a flamethrower, cone of cold and sunburst built in (as well as like 7 other less overpowered features) as well as putting a giant energy hammer on the apparatus of Kwalish. the other took a rod of lordly might and upgraded it so much and deified himself (he has 34 AC and +25 to INT saves.)
I haven't played 5e in a long time now, but I have a Star Wars SAGA game with a 3rd-party Technician player. The Artificer meme is literally him, and the reason I implemented "overdamage"/overkill mechanics...
Fighter one is inaccurate. Fighters turn is attack, action surge attack, done. Way faster than the wizard reading a multiparagraph spell description trying to remember how it works
Wizard: and...Uhhhh, now I cast this spell, which does [...], then, I use the bardic inspiration my companion gave me to cast on myself... DM: ok...Fighter, what are you gonna do? Fighter: I attack. Also action surge, and attack.
Counter point: the wizard is casting fireball 92% of the time. The other 8% of the time they're casting spells to make themselves immortal/raise an entire army/fuck with the fighter or DM.
Fighter one is ACCURATE AS HELL. The only thing they do is attack, but they act like they're Sun Tzu type shit and it takes them 20 minutes to end up "i attack that guy"
After being in a dnd party for the last 6 months I can confirm all of these but the halfling did annoy me once so I threw him at the bbeg and killed it
I just finished a campaign about two hours ago, I dm'd and the party ended up facing a dracolich as a final boss. I overestimated my paladin player's skill at rolling the die and he got killed so I ended up having to subtly nerf the dracolich so that the rest of party could survive 😅 up until that though, it was pretty fun and I know the people who played enjoyed themselves (I also gave them pretty cool loot.)
I've only ever played sorcerers (draconic ancestry subclass ones, at that). I spam firebolt/shocking grasp, with the occasional higher level spell, and it works great, I think.
Well, I don't want to say Rangers are bad, since they can be fun to play! I'm referring more to how some people dislike them because of class problems, and how lots of what they do is covered by other classes and races. And Bloodhunters, I actually haven't seen much of!
I hadn’t dm’d in years and my group finally gave me the opportunity to run a 2 shot. After hours of prep and anticipation, I’m left with immense disappointment and hand crafted maps that will never see the light of the day. So fun
4th edition is like Final Fantasy Tactics, but with all the D&D serial numbers instead. Tactical grid based combat as far as the eye can see and nothing else.
90% of the time, I’m the DM. The other 10%, I’m an artificer-wizard multiclass that isn’t allowed to have unsupervised downtime anymore. 😅
Haha!
Finally, someone else who’s realized the most dangerous thing to give a smart party is prep time.
