In the original Final Destination, high school student Alex Browning (Devon Sawa) boards Volée Airlines Flight 180 with his classmates for a field trip to Paris. Before take-off, Alex has a premonition that the plane will explode in mid-air, killing everyone on board. When the events from his vision begin to repeat themselves in reality, he panics, and a fight breaks out, which leads to several passengers being left behind, including Clear Rivers (Ali Larter), Carter Horton (Kerr Smith), Billy Hitchcock (Seann William Scott), Valerie Lewton (Kristen Cloke), Terry Chaney (Amanda Detmer), and Tod Waggner (Chad Donella), who witness the plane explode moments later. Afterwards, the survivors begin to die one by one through a series of bizarre accidents, and Alex attempts to find a way to "cheat" Death's plan before it is too late.
This whole franchise gave me the worst paranoia for YEARS.
Yesss! I was 8 when the first one came out in 2000, and when I tell you as a kid, I was SHOOK! I watched soo many horror films as a kid, but this movie was so original and unique at the time. Still can’t get over the Todd in the bathroom scene years later because it was shock value at the time compared to it being watched today.

I remember seeing this at the movies and the whole audience was traumatized LoL. I was in HS at the time and I didn't fly for a good minute after this plus 9/11 happened a yr later... nope.

I'm pretty sure it's the late 90's that has that special feeling about it = _Scream, Urban Legend, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Halloween H20, Bride of Chucky, Ringu, Cube, Jack Frost, Sleepy Hollow, Blair Witch Project, Gemini,_ and the underrated _Uncle Sam_ (a must-watch if someone hasn't seen it). Even the not so great movies - like _Thinner_ or _The Mangler_ - were kind of addictive and satisfying.
All the early 2000's gave us was _28 Days Later, American Psycho, Ginger Snaps, May,_ and the _Final Destination_ movies. That's about it.
Planes were loaded easier back then with less security protocols. September 11 changed all of that.

Lol @ being surprised at how fast the plane filled up! 😂 This was pre-9/11, TSA, and bag fees and everything so people just pretty much just loaded on to planes however they pleased with no luggage because carry-ons weren't a thing and it was muchhh faster! Man I miss the old days 🤒

If you look up the original twilight zone. Season 2, episode 17. Title of episode called twenty two. That’s what inspired this movie. It’s almost exactly the same.

These movies are traumatizing. I'm not sure which movie, but I think it was the 3rd one with the roller coaster. Before the movie, roller coaster and thrill ride enthusiast. But after watching that movie, no amount of money could get me on one of those things again. All I would think about is the ride malfunctioning. So needless to say I'm the friend holding all the stuff while everyone else waits in line to ride those death traps.
