'As is the gardener, so is the garden'. - It will never be the same. Such is the somewhat ephemeral nature of man made landscapes. ~ It is really marvelous to see this jaw-dropping garden again and at a different time. I don't think I've ever paused a video so much! Just glorious. Looking forward to your future installments recording for posterity Helen Dillon's artistry. ~ So nice she blessed you with a few gems.
I agree. Even if the new owners keep the garden (and don't put it over to lawn :O ), it will never be the same. The best gardens have the stamp of their creator and change each year. That has always been one of the good things about Helen's garden. Each year I go to see what she has new and there is always something.
WOW! absolutely STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL garden :-) thats so sad that Helen Dillions house and beautiful garden is closing though and I really hope and pray that the new owners take care of it and love it as much as Helen did :-) it is such a BEAUTIFUL garden absolutely BREATHTAKING :-) thanks so much for sharing Rachel and looking forward to seeing the garden over the next four months too :-) sending heaps of love and tons of happiness from Waterford to Wexford for a WONDERFUL Sunny filled Wednesday ahead XXXXX
Yes, get to Helen's this year, Lyn, otherwise you will be kicking yourself afterwards to have missed the opportunity. Check the website but I think she is open every day in July. Wishing you and Sean a super week!
Beautiful! Thanks for taking us along with you on your tour of this wonderful place Rachel. You're lucky to be taking a piece of it with you home to your yard.
Oh my... that's just the Perfect Garden... for sure the garden of my dreams!! So sad Hellen Dillon had to sell it. I just hope that whoever had the fortune tu buy it will keep on with Hellen incredible work. They didn't bought just a garden, they bought a precious gem! Thanks for sharing Rachel, it's just so full of amazing plants I can't even...
I wonder what will become of such a place - so many things that should be shared and enjoyed are being lost. But I'm glad you're enjoying it while it's still available - and sharing with us in the UA-cam world.
Thank you, Roger. Yes, Helen's will be a great loss to the nation. I have visited every year for a long time and there is always something new and exciting tofdiscover.
Sooner or later it comes to us all to have to leave our beautiful gardens for one reason or another, health, old age etc., however, I feel sure that she will garden no matter where she moves to. A garden such as hers comes from something special inside you and a true passion for it no matter the passing fashions. I think you could plop her in a bog, and she would create something extraordinary out of it. I am so glad you are sharing it with us before she moves on.
It's such a pity, such a wonderful garden. Let's hope whoever buys the place will have the interest, means and skills to keep maintaining the garden as beautifully as it is today.
Excellent tour. I keep coming back to it every few months for inspiration. Just out of interest Rachel do you happen to know where I can find an Admiral Rawlings? The National dahlia society is not operating any more 💚💚
Thank you for watching and your comments. I regret I have no good news regarding 'Admiral Rawlings'. It is hard to come by. Helen Dillon gave me one and that's why I have it but I do not know where you can source it.

Yes, I think Helen plans on making a smaller garden close by so that will be worth looking out for. Everything she touches is magic!
Amazing garden! Sad to hear Ms. Dillon is selling it, but hopefully it'll be properly cared for by the next owner! Thanks for sharing.
I do hope so !

Yes, I know what you mean :/
The garden looks amazing ang I loved the cypripedium reginae blooming. Such a pity that the garden will close and I will never get to see it. 😕

This would be the perfect house and garden for you Rachel. For you and your family. Wouldn't it be wonderful ? Well, I know, I'm an eternal dreamer...
Haha. Pity I don't have the €4 million to buy it ;-)
+Gardening at Douentza Nonetheless, I wish you had the money.
