I kind of agree with you, I love snowbarry since I started watching the show, I've been shipping them together practically since their first few scenes together, but I also think some things are unnecessarily highlighted in snowbarry videos, as you just said, it's kind of obvious to get worried when a friend of yours is kidnapped. Maybe a better wording in that one could make it work, like, "Barry's particular reaction when Caitlin is kidnapped", I mean, yeah, he's obviously always worried when a friend is kidnapped or affected in some sort of way, though he does show himself exceptionally worried or out of it (desperate or just losing it) when the one who is gone is Caitlin, this might be due to Caitlin not only working as Barry and Flash's personal physician but also because she's one of the smartest people in the team who comes up with many solutions and ideas of how to defeat "metas", and also because she's usually very supportive of him, and not counting Joe, she's usually the one who gives Barry the best advice. In a sense, Caitlin is a big moral support for Barry and help to pull him together and to stay hopeful, without her things in star labs usually get more complicated or just don't work as good as normal, when Barry is in doubt of himself or when he's stressing, Caitlin is the one who helps him get back up and put himself together, and she's usually very supportive of his ideas and deeply trust his judgement, even when he's wrong sometimes, she also helps him see things from another perspective and things like that. As I said, a better wording for that one could be necessary, yes, Barry is always worried when a friend is kidnapped, everyone would be, however, due to Caitlin's disposition with him, and her capabilities working on star labs, when she's gone everything gets more complicated and stressful, especially for Barry.
@@pierocubertino5845 indeed. I personally don't take every SnowBarry videos' sentences literally. Barry is a hero, so of course, he'd be worried if one of his friends or family members get worried. However, Barry's reactions whenever Caitlin is taken or leaves... is much more severe/drastic/extreme than Cisco, Joe, or even Iris. That's why I count it as a reason. My advice for future videos is to look at the expressions/reactions and not focus on the words.

Hell, beyond the actors' chemistry... let's look at the characters' actions. Caitlin had sided with Barry more times than Iris ever did. Iris only sided with Barry once and that was during Elseworlds. Barry also showed more emotions when Caitlin was in danger or anything else than when Iris was. Yeah, he was anguished when Iris was stabbed by Savitar. However, it wasn't as convincing as it should've been. to me, at least. another thing is, Caitlin is willing to do anything for Barry no matter the cost. she brought Barry back at the beginning of season 2 knowing there was a possibility that the speed force would attack the city again. Iris, on the other hand, decided to let him rot there.
My uncle a major Candace fan even agrees that Snowbarry has way more chemistry. Like he said, it definitely has a lot to do with the actors chemistry as well. FOUR years, couldn't do a tidal wave apparently. Sure, Iris took on the position of Team Flash leader well, but in all honesty, the writing for her was bad. Start of season 4, Iris did NOT want to try to get Barry out of the speed force prison. She firmly believed he was gone. BUT when Cisco, Caitlin, Joe, and Wally went rogue to rescue Barry out Iris was FURIOUS for not following her orders. But right when they locate Barry in CCPD Iris goes and says she never gave up hope on finding Barry, when she literally DID. Every step they take though in this direction makes it harder to undo. The only possible fix at this point is a new timeline and Barry with a half wiped memory. I am ever hopeful. But I don't see a logical way that would easily transition WA fans to SB.
@@Jimmy_Jones I've talked with some WA fans, and apparently, some of them (not all of them or a majority, but some) were snowbarry shippers when the show started, they loved Caitlin and Barry's relationship and wanted them together, however, as the show progressed, and as WA became canon, they started to stan for WA and gave up on snowbarry because "it's never going to happen" since WA is known to be endgame (or at least according to the comics, the WA fans, and the writers), you know, there are people who only ship canon ships, which is okay, to each their own, but some of them did admit that in case Iris somehow was gone or in case of a divorce, they would like to see SB happening, of course, as I said, this is only some WA fans and not a majority.

if you update this video, you can put things like the fact that they came back to star labs the same day in season 4 then when the team found Barry, he and Caitlin looked at each other and smiled at each other, killer frost trust barry enough to ask him to not let Cait die, among other few things (considering that season 4 didn't have that many snowbarry moments)
as Caitlin is a doctor and Barry's friend, so saving him doesn't count as a reason for them to be together. The same goes for Caitlin making him a way to get drunk. Barry protecting or rushing to save her at any time(whether a ploy to get him to a surprise party or not) also doesn't count. He's a hero first and foremost. A man and romantic partner last. His consoling of Caitlin after Ronnie sacrificed himself is just his duty as both a good friend and the flash. Though, the hug may not have been overly necessary to console her. barry surviving the literally cold kiss's effect doesn't count. just a thing he can do. I agree with the rest of it, though.
I did, but I think it was pretty self-explanatory, Mick Rory said it "you and this flash must be really close if you are willing to die for him", number 35 was basically Caitlin being willing to die in order to protect Barry. I think that it wasn't specified as a number because of how obvious it was and due to the scene in itself being, up to date, one of the best scenes to show Caitlin's loyalty towards Barry.

I don't like the destiny thing they tried to pull with Iris and Barry, like, destiny is by definition an INEVITABLE and PREDETERMINED course of events that will affect something/someone in a particular way, Barry and Iris used the news from the future that read "Iris West-Allen" to say that their destiny was to be together, however, we saw the changes in the timeline that changed the information in the news, and Jay told Barry in season 3 that the future can always be changed, it's free will, you can't change the past without causing some sort of disaster because the past is already gone, it already happened, it's written, however, the future is yet to come, it's coming, but it's not here yet, it's still up to "updates" and "changes", if Iris and Barry were actually destined to be together then no matter what happens, what enemies come, what challenges they face, they would always get married and be together because their relationship would be predetermined and inevitable, however, Iris can be killed, and Barry can live without ever getting to marry her and be with her, we have seen it, this means that they aren't destined to be together, they are just forcing themselves to be together by tricking themselves into thinking it's their destiny and that they will automatically have a "they lived happily ever after" or a "happy ending" of sorts. Not only that though, but they also used the fact that their doppelgangers from "earth 2" were together to hint at their destiny to be together, literally 1 parallel earth out of dozens, hundreds, even millions of them, even Kara and Oliver got together in 1 earth and we know they aren't destined to be together, that's why I find it ridiculous that they decided that just that 1 parallel reality out of the infinity that existed in the multiverse was their example of why they were destined to be together, as far as we know, there could be a parallel reality in which Barry ended up with Patty or even Linda, while in other reality Iris could be with Eddie, Eddie died in earth 1, it doesn't mean he died in other "earths" as well, which means that in some other version of earth Iris must be married to Eddie. I do admit though, the fact that they (or at least Barry) fought so hard for them to be together is quite admirable, they are taking destiny into their own hands, that's something I can respect, but I still can't help myself from comparing Barry and Iris desire to be destined to be together (though I see it more as Barry wanting to be with Iris while Iris just wanting to have her happy ending) to Ted Mosby's search for "the one", he was trying so hard to find his "soulmate" or "the one" that he was constantly pushing his own expectations on the girls he met before finding and meeting Tracy, it was pretty irritating, what he had with Robin, he was practically the whole show forcing himself on Robin, saying he loved her or things like that, when he really didn't, he was just desperate to find "the one" and he was practically forcing Robin to be that "one", even after in the show they were shown again and again that they didn't belong together, and then Ted meets Tracy and in a season, even less than that, the fans fell in love with Tracy and the moment they met we knew they were actually destined to meet and it was actually meant to be, their chemistry was off the charts, that's what I feel with Barry and Iris most of the time, I feel like they are Ted trying to have their "one" and forcing themselves to be with whom they believe is their "one" even when it's shown again and again that they don't really work together.

I kind of agree with you, I love snowbarry since I started watching the show, I've been shipping them together practically since their first few scenes together, but I also think some things are unnecessarily highlighted in snowbarry videos, as you just said, it's kind of obvious to get worried when a friend of yours is kidnapped.
Maybe a better wording in that one could make it work, like, "Barry's particular reaction when Caitlin is kidnapped", I mean, yeah, he's obviously always worried when a friend is kidnapped or affected in some sort of way, though he does show himself exceptionally worried or out of it (desperate or just losing it) when the one who is gone is Caitlin, this might be due to Caitlin not only working as Barry and Flash's personal physician but also because she's one of the smartest people in the team who comes up with many solutions and ideas of how to defeat "metas", and also because she's usually very supportive of him, and not counting Joe, she's usually the one who gives Barry the best advice. In a sense, Caitlin is a big moral support for Barry and help to pull him together and to stay hopeful, without her things in star labs usually get more complicated or just don't work as good as normal, when Barry is in doubt of himself or when he's stressing, Caitlin is the one who helps him get back up and put himself together, and she's usually very supportive of his ideas and deeply trust his judgement, even when he's wrong sometimes, she also helps him see things from another perspective and things like that.
As I said, a better wording for that one could be necessary, yes, Barry is always worried when a friend is kidnapped, everyone would be, however, due to Caitlin's disposition with him, and her capabilities working on star labs, when she's gone everything gets more complicated and stressful, especially for Barry.

However, Barry's reactions whenever Caitlin is taken or leaves... is much more severe/drastic/extreme than Cisco, Joe, or even Iris. That's why I count it as a reason. My advice for future videos is to look at the expressions/reactions and not focus on the words.

Hell, beyond the actors' chemistry... let's look at the characters' actions. Caitlin had sided with Barry more times than Iris ever did. Iris only sided with Barry once and that was during Elseworlds. Barry also showed more emotions when Caitlin was in danger or anything else than when Iris was. Yeah, he was anguished when Iris was stabbed by Savitar. However, it wasn't as convincing as it should've been. to me, at least. another thing is, Caitlin is willing to do anything for Barry no matter the cost. she brought Barry back at the beginning of season 2 knowing there was a possibility that the speed force would attack the city again. Iris, on the other hand, decided to let him rot there.

Another is "Run Iris Run" episode. Iris is a speedster for about a day or two. Yet she manages to somehow do "tricks" that Barry himself apparently could not do in his FOUR years of being the flash. FOUR years, couldn't do a tidal wave apparently.
Sure, Iris took on the position of Team Flash leader well, but in all honesty, the writing for her was bad. Start of season 4, Iris did NOT want to try to get Barry out of the speed force prison. But right when they locate Barry in CCPD Iris goes and says she never gave up hope on finding Barry, when she literally DID. Every step they take though in this direction makes it harder to undo. The only possible fix at this point is a new timeline and Barry with a half wiped memory. I am ever hopeful. But I don't see a logical way that would easily transition WA fans to SB.

The thing that really annoys me though is the deleted scene on Barry and Caitlin in 4x04. Probably deleted just because in 50 seconds you got more romance than the entire season 4 WestAllan. Yet the scene is important as it explains why the story arc changed and Barry changed his opinions on the metals.

Barry protecting or rushing to save her at any time(whether a ploy to get him to a surprise party or not) also doesn't count. He's a hero first and foremost. A man and romantic partner last. His consoling of Caitlin after Ronnie sacrificed himself is just his duty as both a good friend and the flash. Though, the hug may not have been overly necessary to console her. barry surviving the literally cold kiss's effect doesn't count. just a thing he can do. I agree with the rest of it, though.

I did, but I think it was pretty self-explanatory, Mick Rory said it "you and this flash must be really close if you are willing to die for him", number 35 was basically Caitlin being willing to die in order to protect Barry. I think that it wasn't specified as a number because of how obvious it was and due to the scene in itself being, up to date, one of the best scenes to show Caitlin's loyalty towards Barry.

I don't like the destiny thing they tried to pull with Iris and Barry, like, destiny is by definition an INEVITABLE and PREDETERMINED course of events that will affect something/someone in a particular way, Barry and Iris used the news from the future that read "Iris West-Allen" to say that their destiny was to be together, however, we saw the changes in the timeline that changed the information in the news, and Jay told Barry in season 3 that the future can always be changed, it's free will, you can't change the past without causing some sort of disaster because the past is already gone, it already happened, it's written, however, the future is yet to come, it's coming, but it's not here yet, it's still up to "updates" and "changes", if Iris and Barry were actually destined to be together then no matter what happens, what enemies come, what challenges they face, they would always get married and be together because their relationship would be predetermined and inevitable, however, Iris can be killed, and Barry can live without ever getting to marry her and be with her, we have seen it, this means that they aren't destined to be together, they are just forcing themselves to be together by tricking themselves into thinking it's their destiny and that they will automatically have a "they lived happily ever after" or a "happy ending" of sorts.
Not only that though, but they also used the fact that their doppelgangers from "earth 2" were together to hint at their destiny to be together, literally 1 parallel earth out of dozens, hundreds, even millions of them, even Kara and Oliver got together in 1 earth and we know they aren't destined to be together, that's why I find it ridiculous that they decided that just that 1 parallel reality out of the infinity that existed in the multiverse was their example of why they were destined to be together, as far as we know, there could be a parallel reality in which Barry ended up with Patty or even Linda, while in other reality Iris could be with Eddie, Eddie died in earth 1, it doesn't mean he died in other "earths" as well, which means that in some other version of earth Iris must be married to Eddie.
I do admit though, the fact that they (or at least Barry) fought so hard for them to be together is quite admirable, they are taking destiny into their own hands, that's something I can respect, but I still can't help myself from comparing Barry and Iris desire to be destined to be together (though I see it more as Barry wanting to be with Iris while Iris just wanting to have her happy ending) to Ted Mosby's search for "the one", he was trying so hard to find his "soulmate" or "the one" that he was constantly pushing his own expectations on the girls he met before finding and meeting Tracy, it was pretty irritating, what he had with Robin, he was practically the whole show forcing himself on Robin, saying he loved her or things like that, when he really didn't, he was just desperate to find "the one" and he was practically forcing Robin to be that "one", even after in the show they were shown again and again that they didn't belong together, and then Ted meets Tracy and in a season, even less than that, the fans fell in love with Tracy and the moment they met we knew they were actually destined to meet and it was actually meant to be, their chemistry was off the charts, that's what I feel with Barry and Iris most of the time, I feel like they are Ted trying to have their "one" and forcing themselves to be with whom they believe is their "one" even when it's shown again and again that they don't really work together.

and how they wrote her character.
In season 1 the writers wrote that Iris deeply wanted to be a journalist.
Season 2, she still remained and wanted to be a journalist.
Season 3 still wanted to be a journalist but help out Barry.
Season 4. She barely mentions any journalism job at all. Also Its not that her contributing to the team = criticism. It's HOW she contributes.
Her character is not a scientist/ engineer and yet somehow she knows most of the medical terms Caitlin uses that sometimes (Not always) are complex and Iris just nods and magically understands it.
Iris also doesn't know much about engineering and yet still knows most of the terms being used (apart from the ones Cisco and Harry break down).
Another is "Run Iris Run" episode. Iris is a speedster for about a day or two. Yet she manages to somehow do "tricks" that Barry himself apparently could not do in his FOUR years of being the flash. FOUR years, couldn't do a tidal wave apparently.
Sure, Iris took on the position of Team Flash leader well, but in all honesty, the writing for her was bad. Start of season 4, Iris did NOT want to try to get Barry out of the speed force prison. She firmly believed he was gone. BUT when Cisco, Caitlin, Joe, and Wally went rogue to rescue Barry out Iris was FURIOUS for not following her orders. But right when they locate Barry in CCPD Iris goes and says she never gave up hope on finding Barry, when she literally DID. When Caitlin said "we" before they located Barry Iris was all up and angry saying where she was, when Iris knew that Caitlin was trying to figure herself out.
The writers also try to make Iris look like a leader, but the writing doesn't work. "Caitlin go do this..." "Cisco go make that algorithm..." "Harry try to...." and so on. Sure, leaders are the commanders but Iris is basically instructing Cisco, Caitlin, and Harry how to do their jobs that they well know how to do.
What do we expect from Iris is more of what we expect of the writers. We expect the writers to actually give Iris back her role as a journalist. Not the team flash leader, but journalist. Let's face it. Iris as the leader is just monitoring the monitors, and nothing else really.
In all honesty, some people (*NOT ALL*) aren't fond of Iris's character because of how her fanbase (SOMETIMES) consist of people accusing people who constructively criticize or complain about her character for being either racist or misogynistic.
Then there's SOME OF the West-Allen fans who purposely go into the "Snowbarry" tags on social media just to harass those fan pages for "shipping something that will never happen". Or the ones who go searching for fan videos on YT and commenting "omg stop posting these. It will never happen. UGhhh". There's no need to be that rude towards others just because they have a different view/opinion of things. Not everyone likes the same things, and not everyone hates the same things.
Also, Barry did not technically put Iris in the leader position. He told her to keep running for him, but Barry didn't say RUN team flash. He just meant keep living on for him.
