Great video, super informative thanks. Just wondering if I want to use the kit to trigger Superior Drummer 3 or EzDrummer, will these kits do it simply via USB? I understand how to say record direct to a DAW but unsure how to configure the kit with virtual kits on my Mac. Thx.
I just got this drumkit and I'm loving it! I had a question - the output/phones jack is 3.5mm, which works great to connect headphones. However, in case I wish to connect to an amp or PA system, do I need to use the 3.5mm to 6.35mm jack?
amazingly, it actually has all the trigger types already setup in the module and you can even add any of the V-Drums kicks and pads and the VH series hihat and then tweak the settings. If you want to edit the kits and build your own combos, the next one up TD-07 does that. The TD-02 does have MIDI/Audio USB streaming built-in so you can trigger drum software right out of the box.
@@tcellen2136 Hi:) How does MIDI/Audio streaming work? I'm pretty new to this and was wondering what that really means. Does the drum-module give you any option to edit the preset kits with other sounds to create custom kits?
@@onetimeatbandcamptvthere's no option to edit kits inside the module with the td02. You need to go up to the td07 which has some of the editing options that the top range kits have. All of them will record audio direct over usb. Just hit record on your daw. So simple.
We live in the 21st century. When will we see variative samples of the snare drum? Why the hell we still have that machine gun sound again and again, huh?!
One disappointing feature about Roland is that they don't add a feature of ediitng your own custom kits they dont add reverb function in the TD01 and TD02 series very disliked about Roland
Roland finally able to get their entry-level v-drum price down to more competitive levels? Looks like it, although kits in this price range really are just toys in my opinion, but the problem with people "getting into" drumming is that they inevitably want a better experience as their skills improve, and these kinds of kits just fall so short of the more realistically-sized kits that come with mesh heads and also use real kick drum pedals. To me, these kinds of Roland entry-level kits are more akin to old school Simmons kits where pad velocity doesn't really matter because the e-sounds you're triggering are usually 1 shot samples and don't require a lot of texturing at different velocity levels. Not to mention these things are just so butt ugly, lol.
it,s actually expandable, you can even use piezo kick triggers with pedals if you want and Vh hi-hat. The sounds are multi-layered and the hi-hat is dynamic from open to closed not just open and closed. the USB port streams MIDi and Audio for tracking into a DAW too. So it's quite a lot of kit.
@@Acrimonious_Snakethese kits also record audio direct into your daw via USB. Not just midi. Which is very cool and makes recording demos a dream with these kits.
Disappointing nothing new, after 5 years. Same pads, cymbals and pedals from TD-1. The new module 02 'save' these e-drum sets. However, the price is right.
New sounds and engine, faster triggering, USB MIDI/Audio, BT capable, compatible with all pad types including V-Hi-hat, new rack and cheaper than Td-1. I reckon that's pretty significant?
@@essenter4222 i get you now. Yeah, I have a TD07 and an old td30 and I really like the 07. The editing capabilities are actually really cool. This module will get old real fast without any editing whatsoever.
I have to be honest, these kits seem indeed like a downgrade from their td1, but come in a much lower price for people learning. Ekits will never sound like a real kit but I’ve come to see them only as a practice pad to hear what I’m playing. Velocity and ghost notes never feel the same

Just ordered mine and I’m pretty excited. Guys at Roland have been killing it for years now 🤘🏻
Still excited 3 months later?
This has to be the best presented video and explanation I have ever seen on UA-cam! I should hire this presenter to do all my sales!
Doesn't look bad to be honest, looks like quite an upgrade to the TD-1 series with the different rack and TD-07 module featuring a better UI.
looks like a great little starter kit!
CONGRATULATIONS!! ROLAND IS EXCELENT ELECTRONIC DRUMS AND FINISH HARDWARE!!

Great vdo, tks. The sounds on this module are waaaaay better than the TD - 1.
I just bought the TD-02K. It is my first electric drum set.
I like it so far, but how do I connect the set to a Roland PM-100?

Hello, great video thanks. Question: On the lower model (TD-02) are the cymbals chockable? dual zone?
yes
Looks absolutely stunning! And the drumkit too I suppose 🤭
But can I turn the hi hat pedal into a second kick pedal?
My guess is if you want to use double kick, you're just going to have to spend more money on a more expensive electronic drum kit. 💰 🤷🏻♂️
Great video, I'm looking for an e-drum to play (i live in a apartment) and it looks like a lot of fun and with some possibilities!
Hello, is it possible to setup the drums inverted for a left handed person?
Can the snare of the TD02 K be upgraded to that of the 02Kv in the future?
Yes. All Roland pads are interchangeable and work with any module.
Awesome!
So you can trigger the drums in a daw?
I like it is beautiful
Can you edit these kits?

Yes. Just like any ekit nowadays

Suck it up I’ve seen your comments on like every video about this kit, if you don’t like it you can just spend a few $100 more on the TD07

MIDI over USB is an inappropriate solution for drums. USB MIDI jitter just kills everything that drummer plays.

The TD07 is on no way downgraded from the td1. Am I misunderstanding you? The td07 has some great sounds. Most of its sounds direct from the td17.
