A quality interview from a quality guy ! Thanks Tony for all your devotion and love for United ! I was 12 yrs old on your debut for the Blades and saw every game you played for us and in 74 was lucky enough to land the job as groundsman at Ball Inn , where i could watch all training . I remember the lads saying ah Currie skives off training .. I,ll tell you this , there was no one put more effort in than TC ,he gave it everything and then some !! TC ,Woody and Badge always had a little chat with me after training ,great great guys !! After TC went to Leeds I left the job ,but knew his heart was at the Lane ....Once a Blade ! God Bless Tone and take care mate !!!
About 7 years ago I did a stadium tour,I was the only one on it,and Tony did it and treated me greatly.I even said do you want to still do it,and he said yes...an absolute pleasure to send time with him..

Who can forget his goal against West Ham and then leaving the pub early to see 'a quality goal by a quality player' again on MOTD. A true legend.
I was privileged as a youngster to enjoy “Tony Tony Currie” (Chant) - awesome ball player. Thankyou Tony. In those days it was Woodward, Salmons, Reece, Badger, Colqhoun, Barlow, Hemsley, Flynn, Hodgkinson and then Hope. From Memory. Steve 63 yrs old now in New Zealand! Still check results each week. Blessings to all at Bramhall Lane.

One of the best players to ever put on a red and white shirt. “TC” is a real legend and an iconic figure in Blades folklore! I wasn’t even born yet when “TC” was in his prime!

Enjoyed watching that. I met TC about 20 years ago and he seemed a bit ignorant and unenthusiastic at the time but now I realise it’s just his shy personality. He was an extrovert showman on the pitch...so I automatically assumed he’d be the same personality off it. Fantastic player who had that confidence verging on arrogance about him even when up against the best players in the game. He helped put Sheff Utd on the map in the early 70’s.

Took to my first game as 7 year old 1971 at the Lane, TC, Woody, Hockey, Colquhoun, and yes can still name all the rest,, but TC mine and many others hero!

What a Fabulous First Podcast, if they are all going to be as enjoyable as that it will be Good series to watch. Please ask Tony what colour his 1600E was, I bought an E that had a V shaped bonnet and rebuilt it
