Our best all round striker in the 45 years I’ve been watching us. Had a physical presence where you could sense their defenders were worried and even fearful when Deane was about. He was also a talisman for the club giving fans genuine belief when he was playing with shouts of “Deano” ringing around the ground. The national media (typical) made him out to be a big battering ram type of forward but he was quite placid for his size. I remember Bassett saying Deane needed to be more nasty and learn to use his size more. What’s not mentioned in the media is he was quite skilful, when he went out towards the wing he was excellent at putting in crosses, good awareness too but his main strength was probably heading. With Deano in the team we were a real danger from set pieces and crosses. The Deane and Agana partnership was legendary...they clicked worked as a pair terrorising opposition defences. Thanks for the memories Deano.
This man made me love united
The greatest most enjoyable footballer I ever saw for united
Love you forever Deano. Incredibly gifted footballer. One of the best ever to wear the shirt
Brilliant interview, very different to most football interviews and really interesting as a result. Deano will always be my favourite ever player and yet I was too young too see him much in his first spell live but every week you knew we had a chance if Deano was playing! We should get Bob Booker on here in my view, another Blades legend!
Jonny on Shoreham View interviewed him a couple of weeks ago..
This bloke had everything, was worth the gate money just to watch him terrify defenders week after week. No diving, no squealing, no running to ref simulating a red card, no wrapping his Ferrari round a lamppost or falling out of night club pissed up. Just an honest professional who left everything on the pitch. Lane legend! UTB!
Great job interview Deano. You start on Monday mate 👏🏻
Love Deano, the man who made me fall in love with SUFC.
Great interview and sorry to hear you've recently lost your mum, she was definitely the star of the 'Brian Deane Story'.
I remember being a mascot against Villa at the Lane when I was 12,I’m 41 now but you were the man Brian,my hero.
I feel exactly the same as Deano about the modern footballer being more concerned with how good he looks on his Instagram feed than doing his job well on the pitch. If players made the rules it would be a red card offence to mess up your opponents hair ! 🤣
Deffo
Top man. Lovley personality.
Met him when he coached in Norway. Had my Leeds shirt with me which he signed. Good memories.
Give him a crack at managers job, he’s done a stint and don’t see anybody else suited. Always love you Deano utb
Not sure about that .....he needs to keep his legendary status ..I'd hate to see him come a cropper as our manager . But wouldn't know until tried but too much of a risk at this stage in my opinion only of course
Deano ..not just a great player for us but honest interesting and thoughtful off the pitch ..also a gent will always say hello if you see him UTB❤️
This Lad Deano was the reason why we used to flock to the Lane, He certainly started me going back to the lane , as I had given up after the seventies generation. That team & times being a blade was something special as Brian says. Great times to be a Blade, the followings we used to take away from home. Special days, My lads loved gonna the lane to Idolise this lad & that team of the day. Very Nice interview Brian, I am the same as you , lost a lot of interest with modern football, far too many Pri modonas & cheats trying to get their opponents sent off, or Rolling around on the pitch, Very sad to think we will never see the likes again on the pitch at the Lane
Brilliant player what we'd give to have a striker like him nowadays. Deano you will always be a legend you and sharpy are the best striker's ive seen at Bramall lane utb!!
Best striker sheffield has ever seen. My boyhood hero
Absolute hero and a gentleman.
Just one criticism for the presenters, please talk into the microphone, so hard to hear your questions
Brian should be considered for boardroom by the owner. If he’d want to be talking with the FA & lawyers & owners is another thing, but he speaks so much sense about the game. Legend.
My hero growing up as a Blades fan! Best player I've seen grace the shirt! DEANO!!
In 1988 when Deano signed I was 13 and just starting to follow United home and away. He was my HERO then and still is now. The memories I have of following united through that era are memories that will last a lifetime. Seeing him and Agana score 30 goals each in the same season for the team I loved gave us pride and we knew we had a team that wanted it as much as the fans and that can not be underestimated. We love you Deano 🔴⚪⚫⚔
Everyone down t' Lane will always be interested Brian... Legend
The goal I remember him the most for is his goal against us for Leicester
Brewster, Mcburnie, around £50 million, Brian Deane priceless.
Tbf I’ve only listened to the first three minutes but it sounds like Deano wants a job / they’re lining him up. Maybe I shouldn’t type on emotion or 8 pints and no don’t there’ll be another comment when I have listened properly 🤣🌪🍻🍻
He’d be on my shortlist.. he thinks deeply about the game, understands the club as well as *anybody* 100%
Should of gave him the manager’s job till the end of the season
Deano was , is and always will be my fraking hero
How sheffield united could do with a player of deano's calibre now, absolute lane legend⚔️
Best utd striker ever
Bold statement…Keith Edwards and Mick Jones
@@ER-gw2xz watched both, had a bit of coaching by KE as a kid, it’s Deano by a long way. Keith was the Billy Sharp of the 80’s.. Brian played for England, on another level.
My one and only ever man crush. What on earth were 2 of the best CBs in world football doing letting him in to score that goal? I was in a bit of a mess when that went in I must admit.
Legend simple ⚔️
Legend.
Deane & Agana
42:49 DEANOS armpits are sweating heavy.😂
