Instead of boring you with more garden nonsense I thought I'd bore you with a stream-of-consciousness ramble about what's been rattling around in my brain lately.

Cheryl on a Saturday I am so here for it! I dont understand why if theyre throwing out these plants anyways, just put them on the side of the bin so people can take them. I am so curious to see how the citisenshiop works that would be epic. Steve and I want to get out passports because we have so much family in Canada and we want to visit. You do what you want Italy sounds amazing!!!
Hiey sweetie, I messaged you a little earlier. Yeah, I understand why they don't want people digging around in the dumpster. It can open them up to liability if someone gets hurt. It's just unfortunate that it's cheaper for them to throw stuff away than it is to keep it viable. The thrill I get from putting fresh plants in my front yard is huge, and Lord knows I have spent thousands of dollars over the years on plants other garden stuff. Now that I'm old I get a huge kick out of finding stuff for free. I rolled past the dumpster again today because it's raining, and I figured that they wouldn't be out patrolling it. They weren't, but all of those plants were already gone. Now it's becoming a war with me! I'm going into battle with Home Depot to retrieve as many plants from their dumpster as I can before they call the cops!🤣🤣🤣

Yeah, the problem of any unsuspecting grandchild who is unfortunate enough to get caught in the steely embrace of Hairy Grandma as she goes in for the cheek kiss!🤣🤣🤣
That's actually a really good idea! It didn't occur to me, but I think it would be a great way to pass them on without having it cost Home Depot money. The cheapest thing to do is simply throw them away, and it may actually be better for their taxes to do so. However, if they were able to donate then Habitat for Humanity could show up once or twice a week with a big truck and load up all the stuff that they were going to be throwing away. I'm not sure if Habitat for Humanity would be able to use all of that plant material, though. I think your idea is definitely worth making a few phone calls.😊
Cheryl, I see you being very fulfilled by writing a book. You would be great at it. 😊 P.S. I turned 70 in January and the hairs in my chin need to taken care of daily…what a pain!! Oh well 😅
Oh, yes, we get to the age where battling our chin hairs becomes a reason for living! I've been doing a lot of writing lately. I am working on a new story that may turn into a novel, finishing a cooperative writing project with a friend that is novel length, and I've been writing essays about my childhood. I've been thinking about reading my essays in videos. Do you think that would be interesting? I'll probably upload some anyhow and and see if people enjoy listening to them.😊

I get such a kick out of the plant dumpster dive videos because I know what you can do with those lonely rejects from the sales floor. Why don’t they put them by the dumpster and let folks take them away for a bit of a nurture and a chance of life? Was thinking about your land….living on the east coast for years…many folks on a main road sponsored a Saturday flea market…where for a cost per booth, they came to share their goods. Produce, household, antiques, decluttering. I don’t know the size of the land, or if there would be parking…but that would be fairly passive income. Just collect your twenty five bucks for spot, direct them to spot and clean up whatever mess is there end of day. Grant might need to have a few trash barrels set about. Passive income is the best. You working those giant flower beds all summer to make photo ready sounds much.
Yes, the flea market idea is a good one. I'm sure there's some sort of permit I would need to get to do that, as well as make sure that my liability insurance is adequate. But, it costs money to make money, and making sure you're compliant is part of the cost of doing business. I've got all kinds of ideas! agreed about the plants. It's a shame that they go to waste, although I think Home Depot kind of looks the other way, as long as you skulk around after dark. All of the plants were tossed in the dumpster. The other day are gone, but the dumpster has not yet been emptied. I rolled back by it today, and noticed at the same old garbage is still in there, minus all the plants. I can feel myself girding my loins and readying myself for battle with the Home Depot plant police!
@@cherylcoyote it sounds like such fun. I would be right there dumpster diving too. I am an hour away from any big box stores. But we have a small town lumber yard that puts out plants. I will be nosing around when the plants come out, Ps. Have you watched Linda vater. The you tube gardener? If you were a millionaire, had help…you too could have a perfect gardener. What a difference a couple million could make in our gardens.

You really are look great. Your weight loss is really showing in your face. Your mirror apparently shows more than your camera, because your skin had a nice glow and I didn’t see all the things you described seeing in the mirror.

Hi Cheryl! I don't know how populated the areas your businesses are in but where I live, owning a studio can be an excellent source of income. Photographers rent out the space for all kinds of photographs (matenity, engagement, professional, etc.) and its also a space one can rent for a party. We used one for our kids 1st birthday because it was easier than having 15 people in our house. A lot of times people just need space. Not a huge wedding venue size but just more than their house can fit.
