I so love the Doozy range - for anyone that has Strats, Teles & Les Pauls already in their armory & just wants something different, this is the brand to check out! And to all those that are complaining about the live-ness of the room, this is the last video from the week we shot without any acoustic treatment in the room. The very next video going up has cured all the unpleasant reverb on vocals. Cheers!!
Rob, Lee, your bluesy jams have become the part of your videos I keep coming for, even if the gear you are demoing is not that interesting for me. Thank You!
Wow what a one two punch. Both incredible looking and sounding gitars. I don't think either of these guys would put their name on something that they were not proud of, or compromised on.
Gotta say I love the Joe Walsh model and that has to be the best overall tone/sound ambience ive heard from you guys in this new room, I agree with Cap about the mike model tho, if I had one I would just sit there playing Free Falling all day.
I never liked the Victory amps much as used in the video's, but now, with these Duesenbergs, especially with Capt Lee playing the chords on the Mike Campbell, that sounds awesome.
Joe Walsh was a big influence on me when I was young. A lot could learn from listening to him. Watch the Daryl's House film with him. I love this guitar too...
Another point about the room is that the light behind you is whiting out the camera. I liked the old room because it had a nice feel of man cave about it.
Possibly you didnt know, Joe Walsh is hardcore into ham radio and is one hell of an operator. His call is WB6ACU...which is quite possibly why theres morse code on the neck
Correct. The code spells out "Joe F Walsh" from headstock to pickup. ("Fiddler" is Joe's middle name.) I own an absolutely pristine 2015 Black one that I picked up in '20 for $2K.
The Mike Campbell And.All Duesenberg Guitars Are Magic! PLAY ONE IF YOU LOVE TONE THE FEEL OF EXCELLENCE & A GUITAR THAT INSPIRES YOU TO PLAY! Just Saying, Play on my sister's & brother's 🖖🏽
I think Joe Walsh's guitar has some wise use of chrome & gold. The gold plating often peels off with the sweat from the player. It was a problem for fender years ago. By using the tougher chrome plating in places where the player's hands and arm may come in contact when playing, it means the sweat has less chance of peeling the plating.
Any chance of Chapman guitars coming out with something classic like one of these in the future? I would love to see what you guys could do with this body style.
That mother of pearl headstock on the Joe Walsh sig is so Höffner. Takes me back to my dad's 50s hollowbody. Doozies are great. Own a CC myself and there's really no looking back apart from it being a large body. You feel it when you are playing a great guitar. Having sigs from Walsh and (His Royal Axe Highness) Campbell only adds to the feeling. Edit 1: Duesenberg should mention it has a sparkle finish, that put me off the first (blue) Campbell sig. Frightened me a tad when I saw it realtime. Edit 2: I think they know why they swapped axes for the jam, it was pretty sweet but the Campbell is just ear candy and an all-rounder.
+Flo S As if this topic hasn't been done to death for the last 5 years. Rob generally plays with a 'Live' tone. He's very much a live player, he plays with a tone that cuts. Where Lee generally goes with a nicer, easier on the ear 'home tone'. It's always darker and generally would never cut at volume. Lee's tones are great, they're just not 'I play in a band regularly and must occupy a specific area in the EQ' tones. When you get down to it, no matter what, if you're passing different guitars to different players, they will find a way, be it consciously or subconsciously to find their tonal comfort zone. While I can agree absolutely that different amp settings should always be used in a guitar review, the fact that we already have two very typical tones being used is enough contrast. For 6 years I've been sure to watch every one of Rob's videos, and this argument has been done to death so many times and through so many different iterations of youtube's comment system, on the one hand I'd like to see Rob address this topic, on the other hand I could agree that it should be completely ignored because the people who bring this topic up are frankly, inexperienced and tonally braindead players, likely listening through a phone with cheap earbuds.
Hi there Rob. Great videos guys, I enjoy all of them. Have you ever made one on the Yamaha 1820? I'd love to see a comparison with a Les Paul. Keep the good work :)
Great guitars. Might buy the joe Walsh one eventually. I like the tone and the very unique looks of it. Plus Joe Walsh is a damn legend lol! Gotta try to get a PRS P22 first though, I'm really liking their piezo system.
Hey rob, i know im commenting on the wrong video, but would there be any chance your chapman v could come with neck binding, i'd pull all the overtime in the fucking universe to get a v from chapman guitars with neck binding, keep up the amazing work
is it just me or has the price of chapman guitars gone up? last i remember the price on andirons for an ml1 was 369. right now i'm checking and it's 419. Just wondering, let me know if i'm wrong. thanks!
Hey Rob! What is going on with the ML-1 Norseman? I'm pretty sure 3 months passed but I still can't see it in Anderton's website. I think I might be wanting one or smth
+Rob Chapman Hey man I love watching you're videos. I have a question for you or anybody reading this. For my first Gibson should I get a Less Paul or SG? I play rock and roll and modern country. Need some good advice! Thanks!
I know I am about two and a half years late to the party, but can anyone chime in for this question: Are the Single Twin Pickups basically identical to the tone of the Duesenberg regular P90's?
Couple of things: Firstly, Chappers and the Captain do the BEST reviews on the tube of you. Secondly, how good is Lee's playing now?!? Thirdly, these Dusenberg guitars are cool alright. But, they seem to be very similar to Gretsch Guitars. How do they stack up in sound and price? I'd like to see, for example, a shoot-out between a centre block Gretsch and one of these Dusenberg guitars. Keep up the great work guys!!
Is is just me or are your guitar mics clipping in the newer vids? Getting lots of clipping pops and already tried listening through different speakers and headphones
You guys should do a blues album for Christmas!! Or, at least an EP. Could just be fun stuff with different guitars and amps...money to charity for it. I would buy one!!
you can push transistors just like tubes, how else do you think distortion in solid state amps works? whether or not it will sound as good is a different question...
+Sean Lynch There should be more distortion, since the signal is louder and the clipping diodes will distort it more. However, I'm not exactly sure how solid state amps function.
KokopelliSG I know gold looks decent with white, but I normally don't like too much gold. I'm just not sure how they'll look with chrome everything else, including pickup rings
+Steven Chabot I was going to suggest putting chrome pickup rings if you were to put gold humbuckers. I personally think it would look good. I never would have thought to do that as I don't like gild too much either. I might think about gold tuners too... maybe. It would definitely set it apart from others. You might want to get some more opinions on it, though the only one that really matters is your own!
that end jam. everything to the last chord. perfect
I so love the Doozy range - for anyone that has Strats, Teles & Les Pauls already in their armory & just wants something different, this is the brand to check out! +CaptAnderton Aye aye, Cap'n!
Rob, Lee, your bluesy jams have become the part of your videos I keep coming for, even if the gear you are demoing is not that interesting for me. Thank You!
+Bartosz Sawicki Bingo, we come for the jams because we cant afford the gear anyways haha.
its so true that hurts :(
I've wanted a Duesenberg for a couple of years.
Now I REALLY want one. Great video, great tones.
Love that Joe Walsh model in the gold burst shown on your website! Wow.
Best jam you guys have done in ages! Well done!
I could listen to that closing jam for an eternity
i think that's the best demo jam you guys have ever done! the captains rhythm playing was awsome
This is the best sounding demo ive heard from you guys yet. Those dooseys sound amazeballs!
That Joe Walsh signature might be THE BEST sounding guitar I've heard reviewed on this channel ever. I'm willing to kill for it.
Came back to this today for that jam. So sweet.
These guitars really do sound like the artists they were made for... amazing!
That jam was sweet and Rob sounded great. I Like the jams when they both play blues.
Wow that ending jam was absolutely amazing.
Both incredible sounding in their own way. Never had a hollow guitar. Damn! I kinda want one now.
That jam at the end was perfect! Cheers
Never knew you guys rocked so! Nice! Thank you!
Great jam at the end, really enjoyed that!
the final jam in this video is superb. one of the best if not the.
Excellent blues jam from the Chaptain Brothers !
Rob your blues playing has gotten really good!! And Lee nice blues playing as usual!. That jam at the end just did it for me lol
Love both guitars but that Joe Walsh one looks like something mythical straight from The Pick of Destiny, awesome
+Leuff Yeah its pretty fancy, kinda has an art deco vibe. And the Morse code is probably a reference to Joe's interest in Ham radio.
That jam at the end is worth a video by itself.
I also just learned that I don't want an American guitar but a German one.
These guitars were made for Lee's playing style. Sound amazing. They don't really shred.
They absolutely shred like a pulled pork BBQ thrown under a lawn mower \m/
+Rob Chapman Hey from Canada Mr.Chapman. you guys should really check out some traynor amps. I never see em demoed really outside this great country.
+Rob Chapman Don't do that to any of your guitars, it's animal cruelty.
+CORY HAYNES Won't happen.Traynor don't have UK distribution.
kingstumble that's bullshit lol.
Rob!! What ever happened to your Ltd tele you modded?!?
+Eraser Gun it's still about i think
+Eraser Gun Still in the old video room? I miss it too :(
we all do haha...
Rob and Capt i prefer the old studio :( are you going to move back into the old studio at the shop?
Joe Walsh is a licensed Amateur Radio (ham) operator. Hence the Morse code on the fret board.
Wow what a one two punch. Both incredible looking and sounding gitars. I don't think either of these guys would put their name on something that they were not proud of, or compromised on.
I'm a funky fan of joe Walsh. These guitars are so niiiiicccccceeeee
That destroyer switch OWNS!!!!
Gotta say I love the Joe Walsh model and that has to be the best overall tone/sound ambience ive heard from you guys in this new room, I agree with Cap about the mike model tho, if I had one I would just sit there playing Free Falling all day.

Lovely guitars and they sound amazing!
Super tasty Chapperation in that last jam!
Thanks man, I was really feeling it - great guitar as well :-)
That Joe Walsh model sounds great, not feeling the other one.
That jam at the end was lovely c:
Glad Rob's back
Possibly you didnt know, Joe Walsh is hardcore into ham radio and is one hell of an operator. His call is WB6ACU...which is quite possibly why theres morse code on the neck

That jam was fantastic.
I've want the Joe Walsh one ------ nice jam @ the end lads :)
I'm not sure what you changed with regards to the cameras but the video looks amazing.
Ah that's my bank account emptied again! Man, just something magical about guitars that I can't explain. :-)
Ditto
very nice vintage sound guitars!! classic and beaty ladies :D
Sweet ass guitars!!!!!! Great playing Capt. Even if it was only 3 chords, they sounded sweet!!!!!
The Mike Campbell And.All Duesenberg Guitars Are Magic! PLAY ONE IF YOU LOVE TONE THE FEEL OF EXCELLENCE & A GUITAR THAT INSPIRES YOU TO PLAY! Just Saying, Play on my sister's & brother's 🖖🏽

Wow that Mike Campbell guitar sounds and looks amazing. I wonder if any stores in Australia stock Deusenberg?
Love that Joe Walsh !!!!!!
dont' know if i shoud go for the joe walsh or the fullerton elite? any recommendations?
Any chance of Chapman guitars coming out with something classic like one of these in the future? I would love to see what you guys could do with this body style.
I would start to look at Chapman guitars if that happened
rob what happened to the old recording room, I liked it. it was just cozier looking and nice on the eye and what not
how do u play that lick lee plays at 11:43. ive been trying to figure it out. much appreciated if anyone cud help
Joe loves being a Hamm Radio operator- so the inlay may be somewhat related to that? Great Sound !
That mother of pearl headstock on the Joe Walsh sig is so Höffner. Takes me back to my dad's 50s hollowbody. Doozies are great. Own a CC myself and there's really no looking back apart from it being a large body. You feel it when you are playing a great guitar. In the hands of Rob every Guitar sounds the same ;)

+Flo S
SO true! I thought i was the only one!
+Flo S I hear a distinct difference, especially in the last month or so.
+iNfx1 cop out.
i will stick to my Telecaster
Rob can you give us an idea on the progress of the Chapman V? ;)
Dude those guitars actuslly look nice and sound nice def unique I would love to own one
Are you guys going to shoot a video on the new Jimi Hendrix Strat thats coming out?
Not keen on the style of either of those guitars but I watched the whole video and enjoyed it. You guys rock! \m/
Always great to hear start with aoverdrive if you wish to hear the core nature of an instrument. A least you are consistent over the years…
When will there be a semi-hollow chapman guitar ?
What does the "TV" stand for in Duesenberg Starplayer TV?
Hi there Rob. Great videos guys, I enjoy all of them. Have you ever made one on the Yamaha 1820? I'd love to see a comparison with a Les Paul.
Keep the good work :)
Chapman needs to make a hollow body ;)
great video :) but why don't you use de SE R1 Ribbon microphones! I like them pretty much !
+Rob Chapman
Great guitars. Might buy the joe Walsh one eventually. I like the tone and the very unique looks of it. Plus Joe Walsh is a damn legend lol! Gotta try to get a PRS P22 first though, I'm really liking their piezo system.
Hey rob, i know im commenting on the wrong video, but would there be any chance your chapman v could come with neck binding, i'd pull all the overtime in the fucking universe to get a v from chapman guitars with neck binding, keep up the amazing work
Rob Chapman!!! I watched one of your Monkey Lord vids, and did you have a signature ESP, or endorsement?
Yes, I still have a great relationship with ESP and am still on the artist list :-)
Awesome Bro!!! Keep up the work!!! \m/
Damn that thing sounds huge Cap!
is it just me or has the price of chapman guitars gone up? last i remember the price on andirons for an ml1 was 369. right now i'm checking and it's 419. Just wondering, let me know if i'm wrong. thanks!
Hey Rob! What is going on with the ML-1 Norseman? I'm pretty sure 3 months passed but I still can't see it in Anderton's website. I think I might be wanting one or smth
i love this intro, What guitars did you use?
+Rob Chapman Hey man I love watching you're videos. I have a question for you or anybody reading this. For my first Gibson should I get a Less Paul or SG? I play rock and roll and modern country. Need some good advice! Thanks!
I know I am about two and a half years late to the party, but can anyone chime in for this question:

what is your favourite semi hollow that you have played
Nice rocking boys!
awesome guitars
Great videos and I LOVE British sarcasm. The Captain guy is funny as sh@t.
that black guitar rules! play some Funk 49 on that bad boy
Chappers tone improved tenfold when he plugged into Lee's amp, you can actually hear the guitar. Love the victorys but not back the gain!
Man. I want that one with the destroy switch.
is that a sinn watch? good if it is
Joe as I recall is an amateur radio man. So if you are serious about the Morse code it makes sense. What nice guitars.
Guys please make a Joe Walsh gear video!!
hands down Lee's best guitar tones ever, thinking Rob's, too, haha
Couple of things:
Firstly, Chappers and the Captain do the BEST reviews on the tube of you.
Can I get captain’s guitar pls??,
Hey please demo misha's sig jacksons!! both 6 & 7 string! plzz
And get Bea to djent on it!
You guys should do a blues album for Christmas!! Or, at least an EP. Could just be fun stuff with different guitars and amps...money to charity for it. I would buy one!!
If you use the destroy switch on a solid state amp will it just get louder ? No tubes to drive.
you can push transistors just like tubes, how else do you think distortion in solid state amps works? whether or not it will sound as good is a different question...
+Sean Lynch There should be more distortion, since the signal is louder and the clipping diodes will distort it more. However, I'm not exactly sure how solid state amps function.
+Sean Lynch it just gets louder to the point it distorts. but you wouldn't like that distortion. it's clipping and it sounds horrible.
Might put gold pickups on my Firebird with chrome hardware. Terrible idea? (It's in white)
It's your guitar man! Do what you want! I do think white and gold would be a beauty so go for it if you want! you can always change stuff later.
You might want to get some more opinions on it, though the only one that really matters is your own!
Name it the Fire Falcon, as the color of guitar/hardware would be like a Gretsch White Falcon.
Has anyone here tried a fender American standard hh strat? I am thinking of buying one but not sure.
Was there a pedal involved or is it just clean?
+tuur de graeve Clean and the boost from the boost knob on the guitar Lee was using first.
If I had the money... A Duesenberg would be on my stand
"Said in Djent" Lee Anderton, 2015
The black one!!!!
It's a bit blingy for my taste but I bet I could live with that very (too) easily.
I love the size and shape.
Lee as a beginner, please do me a lesson on your rhythm playing here, many thx if you do mate.
