I actually discovered this only fairly recently when you yourself were talking about fastfall airdodge in another video, and I decided to start playing around properly to see what ZSS could do with it. I’d thought for the longest time that I just sucked and was just misinputting something with ZSS (always the most likely explanation), because I’d never been able to get it to work with her, then I went frame-by-frame and realised she actually slowed down. Fascinating. Great vid.

This is very good to know. Iv played ZSS for way too long and iv always felt uncomfortable airdoging so iv always burned down b in the spots i would with airdodge. Glad to know why iv felt like this over the years.
Yeah man I was told this the other week by one of the high level Zero Suits at my local... I really felt stupid for a while not being able to FF airdodge. It's annoying as well as this flaw also doesn't compliment her moveset well AT ALL
I don't think it would compliment ANY moveset, it's a total setback
@@SleepyFawn True true, but to be specific I'm referring to ZSS being able to reverse a situation from disadvantage to advantage in the case of an over-extension. She has even less options as she lacks easy-to-hit-with lingering aerials to land up close (Jesus kick nairs for example), making her only real offensive option whilst landing (and also work) is dair. Idk if I am conveying my point correctly but when it comes to disadvantage, most characters have an option that fits most sizes but ZSS' option select has more wrongs than rights and makes you easily able to get punished for choosing the wrong option. FJ remedies this issue majorly but it is crucial to understand how being below somebody right as they attack upwards is such a favourable position to be in
So it just wasn't programmed for her? Seems weird she's the only one who can't do this. Seems like a bug or oversight and now that patches are done she just has to deal with it :(

@@mitrimind1027 I guess it’s essentially the same thing though, since the move never comes out you can still do whatever afterwards.
Just like he can change directions in the air by using Reverse-Block in animations blocks can't come out
Another reason as to why you should NEVER stop balancing a game after the final patch, because stuff like this flies under the radar all the time and when it becomes more common knowledge, it’s too late to fix it
Nintendo probably has plans for the next smash game or at least to port SSBU for the next console
They don't sell skins or anything like that so longevity isn't that usefull, after some patches to sell DLC it's best for them to go for the next game and sell it for 60$ again. Not GREAT for consumers, but it's the Fighting Game standart

It is, but like ESAM said, this takes away a fast low committal option to land which can be used against her. This also means it’s easier to frame trap her which is pretty big for characters that really take advantage of that.

I don't quite follow what was happening with the Steve but it was clear otherwise.
He was able to immediately fastfall out of tumble without having to throw out an aerial or something to cancel his tumble.
I forget how they cancel the tumble, but as I remember it's essentially a way to immediately cancel out of tumble which allows Steve to immediately fastfall back to the ground without having to commit to anything, which is a unique option that literally no other character has access to.

It matters only in situations ZSS doesn't have Flip Jump anymore, and tbh i think Flip Jump is so absurd she kinda deserves a worst disadvantage when it gets read

This doesn't really "even anything out". One of her main strengths is supposed to be that she's elusive and has a good disadvantage state, but this is just a (presumably) unintended mechanic that makes her disadvantage worse for no reason.
@@Andy-th6qs when has zss disadvantage ever been an actual issue ever. In this games 5 year life span it has never been an issue, let’s not pretend cuz ESAM dropped this video zss disadvantage is all the sudden a problem. Top 3 disadvantages with this “bug”

This does completely ruin her online, I honestly find I play her completely differently for online/wifi with zss due to this.
More campy online, more aggressive offline because it's easier to be nimble offline.

once you fastfall you have to keep fastfalling unless you do an aerial or special, but you cant just not fastfall from nothing

Honestly this actually makes ZSS disadvantage kinda sub-par. The only thing I've found that I can really do in disadvantage against characters with any decent advantage is DI out and mash fair, because giving up either your jump or down b is just never worth it since being without one of those off-stage is essentially a death sentence. And it sucks because fair is also a punishable option and the second hit doesn't hit 90% of the time when you're doing it out of disadvantage. You're just kinda forced to get hit off the ledge so you can recover with all of your resources. I still think she's about high tier but her disadvantage is actually not nearly as good as people think because losing either of your resources is a death sentence in high to top level play. Also, slow falling because of air dodge makes her get frame trapped really easily further adding to the feeling of never being able to get past your opponent. If you play ZSS, be prepared to play brick wall to brick wall. It doesn't really feel fluid at all.

Jeez, meta really does change people's views on characters. Zero Suit use to be one of the best characters in people's mind all the way up until recently in ultimate. This happened to a few characters like Ike and Cloud and now people think they suck

I doubt it. I don’t see why they’re nerf a character in a way that’s universal for every character in the game. That’s not needing the character specifically that’s just removing a basic mechanic which does not make any sense

@@LoKing1337 umm okay except not every char can easily punish flip jump and she also has the traditional options. Flip jump off the Ledge is op. It's hard to react to combined with the rest of the options on Ledge

This definitely isn't the only reason you'll lose with her. Focus on improving other aspects of your play instead of instantly hearing about one flaw and claiming you can't win because it

As a brawler, the term fast fall nairdodge always confused me because how can you perform a dodge with neutral air. Its an offensive option, not a dodge. Nair is Nair. (Insert mr incredible here)
"Nairdodge" means neutral airdodge, not neutral air attack and airdodge. It's important that when you fastfall airdodge that it's a neutral airdodge because directional airdodges are waaaaaay less safe. So you have to input fastfall by holding down, then let go of the stick altogether, then input the airdodge.
