Ahead of the Punjab Assembly election, the Congress inducted Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala into the party on Friday in Chandigarh. According to Congress sources, the 28-year-old Punjabi singer and actor will contest in the upcoming Punjab Assembly polls. On June 11, 1993, a child was born to government officer Bhola Singh and his wife Charan Kaur in Mansa district of Punjab. He was named Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu. After dealing with his early schooling, his parents got Shubhdeep enrolled in an engineering college. Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu later changed his name and added the name of his village to his name and became Sidhu Moose Wala.
