The name of this is good writing. If you create someone as the strongest and you don't wanna to cheat yourself like a lot of manga authors do, you have to elaborate some narrative to make your story progress in some way or another. Seal gojo was a smart move because It needed a special cursed tool, a milenial sorcerer with a pre knowlegd about six eyes user so It can use against Gojo and Suguru Geto body to give a emotional damage on my boy. It was a strategic plan that shows two things: How much dangerous and smart kenjaku is and being the strongest doesn't mean that much against someone who mastered jujutsuji (manga readers can confirm that)

Kenjaku is cunning, strong, and versatile. He is not all-knowing or omniscient. He could have predicted a lot of these, but he didn't, especially regarding Yuta Okkotsu.
