Fun fact: Ben Stiller (White) and Christine Taylor (Kate) are married in real life which makes the awkward scenes of White trying to woo Kate and her being disgusted by him even more hilarious
What was even more awkward was the Dodgeball reunion promotional video they did together years later after they separated.

Met Alan Tudyk (Steve the Pirate) at a con and asked him how much that "you're not a pirate" line hurt him, and he said "to the core!" XD

This movie is a comedy classic. ESPN now does an honorary “The Ocho” day where they actually show obscure sports, thanks to this movie. Love your channel. Helps me rediscover my love of these movies.

Gary Cole playing "Cotton McKnight" as Bateman's straight-man commentator is not to be overlooked. His quips were hilarious! When a spectator with arms full off food got creamed with a ball to the head, followed by Cotton's line delivery of, "Now there's a souvenir for a lucky fan!" cracks me up every time. His deadpan glances to Pepper saying stupid sh!t are hilarious!

I agree! That was a half-day's filming for both of them, Bateman says he drove over from the Arrested Development set, and they're like comedy assassins. Pick up the tournament scenes and run off with them in their pocket.

Joe’s winning by DQ against the Girl Scouts reminded me of when I played baseball in school, and the only time we won was because the other schools team didn’t show up. We savoured the hell out of that victory lol.
My HS football team was so bad we had like one or two games where we got hyped for the possibility to maybe win.
My middle school basketball team was so good because we had the tallest kid who had hit their growth spurt hard. We just gave him the ball most every play. He wasn’t even good, he was kinda bad… but he could get his own rebounds and pretty much once he got it near the hoop everyone just watched him shoot it like three times a basket. 😂

Fun fact justin long actually got cut by that rubber wrench that was thrown at him. Fun fact for us not him.
Fun Fact #2: During the filming Justin Long was the first to take the dodgeballs from the pitching machine - they weren’t sure how high to set it - and all the reactions were real. Because he was a new actor he didn’t wanna say anything about getting beaned in the head so hard he saw stars. It wasn’t until Vince Vaughn got in front of it and he complained did they realize it was going maybe a bit too fast. Long was not allowed to drive home after that shoot, as per concussion protocols.

I love Gary Cole in every role I've ever seen him in. And that includes when he voiced the titular character of Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. This is probably my favorite though.💕😂🤣
The perfect straight-man for Bateman, with his witty quips and deadpan glances to Pepper. I found Cotton McKnight funnier than Pepper Brooks.
This movie has become such a cult classic that every year in August, ESPN turns one of it's tertiary channels into The Ocho for three days.

They've been separated now for years. The funny thing is that years after the movie was released, the cast assembled in their uniforms for a Dodgeball promo video after they split.
In the original ending global gym wins. The test audiences were so outraged every time, that they had to change and reshoot the ending.
The Director's commentary track had Vince Vaughn drunk, Ben Stiller come late, and the director walking out, and for the last 30 minutes played the commentary for There's Something About Mary.
The actual Director's Commentary is an Easter Egg.
Favorite line in the whole movie: "Bold strategy Cotton! Lets see if it pays off."
Nobody ever watched the end credit scene. It's literally one of the best parts.

I remember seeing this in theaters. The “What? I like unicorns” part caught me so off guard I was fighting the church giggles for half the movie.
David Hasselhoff is a huge star in Germany. So him being the coach of the German team is a riff on his popularity in Germany.
Fun fact: the old man with the glasses who suggested they play dodgeball is the voice of bill in king of the hill and he’s the crazy dude who burned down the office in the end of office space.
Stephen Root was most well known for his hilarious breakout role as Jimmy James in "Newsradio" along side Dave Foley, Joe Rogan, and the late great Phil Hartman.
I love that this movie actually inspired a brief period of pro dodge ball tv sports.

Justin Long is a seriously underrated comedic actor. His small role in Zack and Miri Make a Porno is the best part of the movie. You should watch Accepted to see him and a young Jonah Hill.
I want to say he was in Strange Wilderness as well. Have you seent that one?
Yes! His cameo in Zack and Miri was everything lol I still say “Bobby Long” in his voice randomly.
I only like the first half of ACCEPTED. Once the whole plan blows up in their face, it derails what I thought was a clever caper film and turned it into a generic farce that shouldn't work at all.
Him as the doctor in Idiocracy too was great

Ben Stiller plays the exact same bad guy character in “HEAVYWEIGHTS”. This is nearly a sequel, like after he's defeat and went on changed his name. Heavyweights is a summer camp, no better time to check it out. Also, Camp Nowhere with Christopher Lloyd acting like multiple camp counselor caricatures.

Fran Stalinofskivitchdavitovichsky is played by Missi Pyle, which is why her makeup job in this is hilarious since she's really really ridiculously good looking. She also played Laliari in GalaxyQuest (the Thermian that hooked up with Tony Shalhoub's character :P
Also, in reality Germany absolutely loves David Hasselhoff, mainly due to his singing career but also because of Knight Rider and Baywatch :P

There is just something about white goodman saying "you caught the scent of a lesser stag in your nostrils" that makes me lose it every single time 😂 Just an unexpectedly hilarious string of words, plus the man's just insulting himself lol
You guys gotta do BASEketball at some point! It’s got a similar feel to Dodgeball and is made by the same guys that made South Park, stars them as well!
It's a minor role, but Jason Bateman's color commentator adds immeasurably to my enjoyment of this movie.

I also agree. I especially do not like when there's a "preview" at the beginning. It's usually the funniest part of the video. I know some people like it and that's fine but I just think it kind of ruins it. Still love them and their editor but, yes, it's can be more.

Some channels (NOT THIS) abuse previews which can cause people to not stick around and watch the full reactions because maybe their favorite part was already previewed.
For example, I see many reactions to soccer matches, sometimes the reaction channels show their reaction to the Goals as a preview and that causes me to only be interested in seeing the previews and not staying to see the full video.
Huh? ... The editing in this reaction was actually rather poor. There were far too many "dead air" moments, when neither the video clip was playing (including muted audio), while simultaneously nothing was being spoken or reacted to by the reactors either (just blank faces). That is simply down to lazy editing (no proof watching back the edit before uploading) ... At moments, it was almost as bad as the very worst offenders of lazy editing "The Homies" channel, who have the absolute worst edited reaction videos on UA-cam.

Joes vs. Cobras is a reference to G.I. Joe. They even pretty much use the Cobra symbol as their team logo.
