Rich Mitch What up, happen to know which discounters sell Molinard? Haven’t tried any of their fragrances yet. Going to check if they have a Discovery Set
I just received my order of molinard lavende and I can’t thank you enough for creating this video. I had three samples of lavender extreme and I just ran out. I was devastated because I wasn’t about to pay over $300 for a bottle. I ordered this at your recommendation and I am overjoyed. My children smelled it on my as I just walked past them and they quickly commented on how wonderful I smell. Thank again so much. I’m completely thrilled with this purchase.
Wearing both now to compare side by side, & here's my $.02: These really are remarkably similar fragrances - AFTER the opening... TF Lavender Extreme opens with a mega-dose of explosive, sweet, luscious Lavender, wonderfully blended with Lemon, Violet, Tonka Bean & Coumarin. On first impression, it's a stunner. It's sweet enough that I've had friends mistake it for coconut, & totally understood them getting that impression. While I'm no expert, they've clearly pulled off some nice use of aromachemicals to get such a "bursting" effect to the top notes. This is the one & only thing that makes LE noteworthy. Unfortunately, this lasts only 10-15 minutes. It's a blissful open that you want to last forever, but it's gone before you blink. The in-your-face Lavender quickly fades & the LE settles into a slightly more vanilla-tinged version of Lavande. It's truly excellent at first, but the decision to add this to the $320/$815 product range is a joke (as is that price point in general). Had it been priced at the "normal" prices, & made available in the 100ml size as well, I might have bought a bottle. But sadly It reminds me of TF Azure Lime: Amazing! ...For 15 minutes. Molinard Lavande's opening is very similar, yet distinctly different. Rather than the almost gourmand Lavender of LE, this is a sharper Lavender spiced with Clary Sage & a bit of underlying Patchouli in its base. The presence of the Clary Sage is the big difference in the opening; It's a much more medicinal/herbal vibe. Lavande is far more linear, so you don't get the disappointment of LE's rich Lavender disappearing so quickly. 30 minutes in, they are nearly identical. The spice of Lavande & the sweetness of LE both tone down to a lighter vanilla-floral scent with their bases of Coumarin & Tonka Bean. If LE could keep its magic going for a few hours, we'd have no competition here. Given the (10x!) price difference, Lavande is quite solid, & I'd say it's actually the slightly more interesting of the 2 in the dry down. Yes, LE's opening is amazing & I definitely wanted a bottle on first sniff, but if you've got Lavande 20 minutes later either way, it doesn't make sense to pay the TF premium, even if it was at the normal prices. Will have to try the Caron Pour Un Homme soon to see if it can come closer to pulling off LE's opening vibe. Great video, Sebastian! Update: And now, I see there's "Tom Ford Tuscan Leather Intense" on the way, & you guessed it, it's another $320/50ml bottle. Give me a break. I love Tom Ford & own MANY of his scents... At ***$330/$840*** (NEW higher pricing! smh!), they're just adding another "hard pass" to the line in my book. The regular prices are bad enough; the higher tier is just plain stupid... Enough to skip over Tom Ford on principle alone.
I wear Jasmine rouge Tom Ford...and l just got Jasmine molinard...in the beginning they are so similar but in the drydown you can smell the difference. My friends think it is the same..of course I can tell the difference.jr is softer and a little spicy with a touch of rose where as jm is more sharp and carries the Jasmine longer on the skin.JM is longer lasting.
I own 5 scents in these bottles....CUIR, AMBRE, PATCHOULI, FIGUE and PATCHOULI VANILLE. They are all very under-rated scents IMHO, and they always are pleasing to wear. I will look into smelling this LAVANDE...thanks for the awesome review.
Sir, I am convinced you are a genius. I have been searching for a reasonable lavender for over two decades. I wore Puig's lavender in the nineties and could no longer find it easily. So I shall be obtaining this Molinard shortly. I love their leather scent for the Fall, thanks to you I might add. I look forward to this new fragrance. Thank you.
I own lavander extreme too but not in the decant, really love it. It's so comforting and just what I'd want to wear to relax. I never tried the molinard but sounds like a great price for a great quality fragrance. I appreciate the comparison 🙏
Ok! I went and tested l Lavendar Extreme after you mentioned it from your Milan trip and I fell in LOVE. I'm so excited to have another option. Thanks for the review!

There were differences of course 1 FM has a prominent pineapple note but the similarities were ye opening. Anyway, just thought I share. Thx as always Sebastian!
Thankyou so much for this video!! I used my two Tom ford samples up for bed time and didn’t want to buy that expensive stuff just for a sleep time fragrance haha.
Sooooo I just received an email from Tom Ford saying Last Chance before these items are gone forever and it’s 50% off. Should I pull the trigger. The 50ml is $195 before tax.

@@ThePerfumeGuy Did you store them without such conditions in previous years? I mean, is it worth it? Or maybe it's just fine when you store them in general room conditions?

From from Saks to Neiman to Bloomingdales I was able to score 16 ml of the Extreme more than filling an atomizer👍🏻... I will probably blind but the Molinard ... your fault 😂. Great video Seabass
I tend to disadree with this comparison , because i do know both fragrances , and i own Lavender Extreme. All above is my personal experience with both fragrances on my dry skin.
@@ThePerfumeGuy I don't disagree with everything.I'm just sharing my personal experience. Better performance with Molinard?? Lucky you . Split and sell the 250ml if Lavender Extreme does not work just as good for you. ~ 2.5 hours of decent sillage and projection , and close to 6.5 hours of longevity in what i get from it.To me that's really good because of my skin.

Have you tried Lavande 44 - Rania J? I got a sample and I hate it as much as I love it. I find it so animalic - but like many such fragrances quite addictive when it comes to wanting to stick your nose back into it. The dry down however is absolutely heavenly but it takes a long time to get there. I asked my 12 year old daughter if she liked it and she said it smelled of urine in public toilets when they have tried to cover it with scent 😐 not a smell I’m going for 😂 Not many of the reviews on Fragrantica mention this side of the fragrance, one or two suspecting it’s oud. Just wondered your thoughts?
I love the lavender in dhi, but hate the one in caron pour homme, kinda old school barbershop. Does lavande closer to dhi or caron with regards to the type of lavender used?
Thank you for this review i fell in love with this Tom Ford Lavender Extreme the minute i smell it but God i cannot afford it so now thanks to yiu in buying Molinard.. hey can you make a comparison between the fucking fabulous vs vanclef d arpels bois d ore im not sure but i feel they are almost the same smell.. hope you can help me With it
I would say vanilla will layer well or a musk. Nothing overly complex as Satin Mood is intense. I personally don't think you will need to layer anything with it but that's just me! :)
Hey Sebastian, did you get to smell the new Dior Privee/Maison fragrance "Spice Blend"? I'm super interested but worried it might be a little too similar to Mitzah :-)
Sadly the bottles looks kinda cheap and is a fingerprint magnet. Hope they will come up with a clear bottle with an amber (dark orange) colored fragrance in it, that will look stunning.
They used to have a slew of male targeted fragrance and most likely they still do at their perfumery in Grasse I believe everything now is all unisex targeted! :)
I had the pleasure of sampling the Tom Ford this week. The opening was lovely but I was put off but the dry down. It was harsh and unpleasant. Granted, I haven’t tried the Molinard but I own Maison Lancôme Lavandes Trianon and it was my daily addiction during the colder winter months. Especially while wearing cashmere sweaters. Like a cozy, warm lavender latte with a smooth, sweet dry down.
Hi Sebastien Can you please do a review or first impression on Lavender Palm by Tom Ford? It has been discontinued though. Thank you very much 👊big ups
Smelling Great Fragrance Reviews LOL No wonder why it has been discontinued 🤣 I got a 250 ml for CAD$100 this week. I am a bit confused, is it a winter or summer fragrance?
That's a steal. There are fans out there. I'm sure you can decant and sell off a bunch and make your $100 back quickly!! I think it's an all year round release but seemed really gloppy on me. Like it was nothing but lavender and oil. Sort of like runny lavender oil.
Just a quick note,Molinard is an artisan house creating art niche fragrances since 1849 . Tom Ford is a Fashion victimiser creating beautiful fragrances in god knows what Chemical plant and selling them at outrageous rip off prices...I always bet on French savoir faire

To me it sounds like too much but worth a try. I just feel they might clash!
@@ThePerfumeGuy Got it! Thank you. What do you suggest I layer with Lavande? I love the smell of lavender, and I want something dominant yet relaxing.
Haven't yet. I go to France / Italy in September so I'll have to do it then! :)
Sadly the bottles looks kinda cheap and is a fingerprint magnet. Hope they will come up with a clear bottle with an amber (dark orange) colored fragrance in it, that will look stunning.
Actually the bottles are not cheap but it certainly is a fingerprint magnet for sure! :)
Sebastian, do u get similarities with Serge Luten’s Gris Clair? Also, do you like Gris Clair in general?
I just smelled that one just a couple days ago even though the lavender might be similar the rest of the fragrance is not. 😄
Smelling Great Fragrance Reviews I thought so at the moment that you described the similarities between Tom Ford and Molinard, sir.
I love the lavender in beau de jour? Think that’s the name and love the smell of lavender bushes. Is this suitable for a man or is this too feminine?
This is more in your face lavender with a sweet vanilla/amber dry down. It's quite unisex but I wouldn't call it femme!
Sebastian I have a question, does Molinard have any masculine type of fragrances and their lineup?
They used to have a slew of male targeted fragrance and most likely they still do at their perfumery in Grasse I believe everything now is all unisex targeted! :)
great vid will check it out!
I really like vanilla perfume
Can you review some
MICALLEF ??
So the link to buy Lavande is safe? For some reason my browser doesn’t trust it. Lol
Woow Amazing comparation!!
Please, make a comparation between Vetiver by Dior vs Nuit de Megeve by Eight & Bob, please please!!!!!
Love lavender and anything that remotely smells like a fougere. I'll get a small decant - can't afford those full prices
Sebastian, What you think about Gris Clair Serge Lutens?
I just smelled it but do not own it. Enjoyed it for sure! :)
Where can I get that Molinard Lavande? They do not have it on frangrancenet.
There's a link in the infobox to where you can get it. You can use my discount code that's there too to save 10% off. :
Thanks
I would love to try a sample
Hi Sebastien
Can you please do a review or first impression on Lavender Palm by Tom Ford?
It has been discontinued though.
Thank you very much
👊big ups
I hated Lavender Palm. LOL! It smelled like lavender and oil to me. LOL! Sorry. I hope it wasn't one of your favorites?
Smelling Great Fragrance Reviews
LOL No wonder why it has been discontinued 🤣
I got a 250 ml for CAD$100 this week.
Smelling Great Fragrance Reviews Thank you for your comments!
Have you ever put your nose on Marc Jacobs Cocktail splash Ginger?
Never smelled that one! :(
Show meu caro amigo!
Just a quick note,Molinard is an artisan house creating art niche fragrances since 1849 . Tom Ford is a Fashion victimiser creating beautiful fragrances in god knows what Chemical plant and selling them at outrageous rip off prices...I always bet on French savoir faire
Cue Molinard out of stock everywhere :)
Molinard I believe comes in 75 ml
Yes it does!!
