    hello today I will do a full service of 1968 longines. watch a bit more complicated than previous works, automatic movement with double date. watch bought at auction - working condition. the watch does not keep time, has stopped several times and has a very low amplitude. time for service!

    I came for the watch...I stayed for the music. I just wanted to get this started in my view history...but I let it run while I did my work. Great tunes. Looking forward to actually watching it!

    That watch face is a work of art ! I love dials that are clearly numbered and have day , date to boot ! This is what a time piece is supposed to be .

      @@Karol235 got longines admiral early 70's at home, wear it as often as possible. This vidéo increases the way I love the poetry of this watch. Longines seems now to have forgotten this masterpiece of its history even if zulu time wears also higher quality mark caliber with its 5 stars 🤔

    How many years you been doing this?
    I watched countless videos of other watch servicing.
    You've the smoothest hands n fingers I've seen. Most other are shaky and twitchy but you
    Don't shakes,deliberate movements, smooth.
    You could be a brain surgeon .

      hello, many years, hundreds of mechanisms disassembled and assembled. I think it comes with experience, you know what force to use to grab / lift some part at what angle the parts are put into the mechanism. how to put your hands on the desk how to hold the tools. over time, the movements become automatic. Thank you for the kind word, I am very happy with your opinion !!! Regards

    You are service the watches so well.
    I like Longines, Omega.
    I have the Longines 5 Star Admiral (date day) bought in 1995 is still running original & never service. In my collection.
    The Omega Speedmaster triple days, bought in 2002 is still running original & never service. In my collection.
    I am wearing the Longines Master Collection triple days & moon phase. I love watches!
    You are the Watches Master.
    The Longines Master Collection triple days moon phase has 3 versions caliber:
    1. L687.2 (1st generation)
    2. L687.2 (2nd generation)
    3. L687.5
    Which version is better? Why?

      longines is a very good company, one of my favorites. you ask for L.678 to version of the ETA / Valjoux 7751. mechanisms are very good and popular. many brands use these mechanisms in their watches. all ETA / Valjoux 775x are good and cheap to repair

    My favourite brands strictly by their movements would be Omega, Longines and Rolex. The whole Swatch Group and Rolex by their marketing policies... well, not so much. ; )
    And again a watch with one language Day Disk! What is that: Stupidity, Ignorance or both?
    Good work, and the movement IS pretty. Can those stains on some of the wheels be from a previous water damage, which has been repaired with not changing the (slightly) affected parts? I dunno, I probably wouldn't change the part either only if it's gotten a bit of camouflage but otherwise working and not totally ugly.

    • @Karol235
      @Karol235  2 роки тому

      omega and longines are also my favorite brands. I personally don't like Rolex, I think it's mainly marketing. for this money you can have much more substantively interesting watches

    • @Ba_Yegu
      @Ba_Yegu 2 роки тому

      I agree with the opinion of the lousy marketing policy of Rolex, but by looking strictly at their movements Rolex is awesome.
      Of course I'm not getting a Rolex anytime soon as I could get e.g. three Omega Seamaster 300's with the price of one Rolex Sub by just getting to the Omega Store, not having to wait a Year or two to get a Watch on my wrist. ; )
      Too bad I already have two Seamasters...

    Nicely done, where is the washing part?

    • @Karol235
      @Karol235  2 роки тому +1

      hello, sometimes hand-made in jars, and sometimes an old elma swirl. it depends what watch, what materials it is made of and what fluids are needed. with or without ammonia, distilled water, isopropyl alcohol, very pure white spirit- extraction gasoline. or elma concentrate ( red/pink ) 1: 9 in a washing machine and water and isopropyl. never an ultrasonic cleaner

      @@Karol235 thanks ,I noticed on the spring barrel it said do not open,what is special that itcan not be opened ?

    • @Karol235
      @Karol235  2 роки тому

      @@johnutting9615 I think the theory behind sealed barrels is the fact that the parts, barrel and spring take quite a lot of stress during operation so therefor if you need to change the spring then also change the barrel. This in effect eliminates any problems just putting a good spring in a worn barrel and it is a one step operation. Not only that you have to buy the barrel and spring (greater cost). The barrel can be opened and done carefully would probably be ok, but bear in mind some of the longines barrels were greaseless and greasing them lowers the power reserve due to excess slippage.

    Are you really a watchmaker or watch technician? I don't see you making watches or making parts on the lathe machine or using any watchmaking tools either. It's better to use as your local watch technician, not a watchamker. It's very important to correct depending on your role in doing watches.

    • @Karol235
      @Karol235  2 роки тому +1

      hello, I would like to ask, how do you know what my workshop looks like? what are the tools in it? did you see everything what work is it doing? can you disassemble a chronograph? and then reassemble? can you diagnose the fault? causes of bad work? to roll the axis on a lathe? replace the balance axis or a damaged jewel / bearing. I can ... it seems to me that watchmaking I haven't heard of the profession of a watch technician, but I don't know, maybe I'm wrong ...
      Regards
