I honestly can't believe this right now.. For the past year I've been feeling on and off miserable and extremely from stuffing my face after having eaten enough food. Everyone always talks about eating enough and soo often I have eaten to the point of nausea and numbness. So thank you for these tips I really like your approach and tips it really gives me hope that I can somehow regain my health and fitness!!
I don't know what it is, but I really connect to how passionately you speak Tim. You've helped me make positive choices. I hope you can feel my sincerity in gratitude of you. Thank you and much peace to you.
Laura Portlock I know that I'm not the only person in the world that feels these things, so I stand up and speak for those that have similar challenges.
This made me so happy. I was seriously expecting another person saying it's not a thing when it clearly is... I've struggled with myself for so long. I have the anxiety disorder, social anxiety and a lot of stress. And I have to consciously tell myself not to eat things I crave, because I know it's not hunger. and I get so sad when these people that should know about things like that just go and tell people that emotional eating is not real. As if it wasn't hard enough without people ignoring these problems.
+Pumpkin Cat different brains experience the world differently... and those that don't experience emotional eating, don't understand it. Which is fine, but then they shouldn't be offering up opinions on it.
Oooh! I do sometimes have to deal with extending belly situations... And I do tend to try to make it look flat... Hmm... Am I emotionally eating? Woooh... I have to check in with that... Thanks for the clear explanation!
Its not only yours brain strategy, we are trying to escape, from emotions we dont want to feel, to face, i had and still have a lot of unexpressed emotions from the past, and this is my main reasion for not being healthy, there are things you cant fix with diet, i slowly let go different emotions, its like pilling an onion, but much harder, and each time i feel better. Also from my experience there was one more factor in overeating/eating bad stuff = CANDIDA. When i started taking candida supplement most of the overeating is gone.
Totally relate to your extended belly experiences! Its miserable and I would end up hiding inside all day just like you describe. I think when I went through my "carbing up" phase of raw it made my emotional eating much worse and encouraged binge eating. Didn't fully realize it at the time. Eventually I figured out I was making excuses and it was damaging to my health. Now that I'm back to eating less and recognizing when I have true hunger, my health and mood are so much better!
Tim, thanks sharing all your ideas. I really learned a lot from you. Send you a warm hug for the situation you are dealing with right now. Hope the issues will solved soon. Thanks again
Thank you for making this video Tim ❤. I have struggled with this issue for most of my life, and it is very real for me. It has decreased a bit since I became plant-based and properly nourished, but I still have episodes especially when I am stressed.
Nice one Tim, yes mental stressors, a bane on calm living at times. This goes well with your mindfulness post on things like this. I am doing a bit of the mindfulness stuff, along with getting out running and cycling.
Thank you Tim for making these videos, they motivate me to exercise more than anything, the way you talk about not pushing yourself to work out and instead having an adventure and relaxing time outside. Do you know H.D.Thoreau's work? I think he was your kind of a guy :)
Thank you for this video. I self sabotage with food when life is to hard and am so ready to check out. Your videos are so calming and peaceful even on the hard topics like this video. Thank you for helping in my fight to hang on. I am new to the vegan lifestyle and was doing well for awhile but due to challenges I recently binged on horrible junk food. I have always been a vegetarian but no matter what lifestyle there is so much junk and sometimes to hide my pain I consume it. Again Thank You it seems to be a slow learning process but I am learning and trying to fight.
@runningraw Thank you very much for this video. You tell exactly what i feel. The one problem: i can't get away from the food as I work at a Raw Food Lunchroom. But maybe I should get away, as it makes me feel stressed all the time. Anyway, thank you for this video!!!
Exactly! Often times it's the full belly that triggers binges for me too. Very weird and counterproductive... :/ Good tips though, thanks for the video :)
+Running Raw yes! I actually found lately through self-discovery that my trigger is being out of control. Whenever I'm out of control, I feel the need to overeat on raw vegan food, and I totally agree - it's unhealthy regardless of what you actually eat. So what I've been doing is just saying to myself: you are out of control right now, that's ok. I think just acknowledging it makes a wold of difference! We are so used to suppressing our feelings and not just experiencing them and letting them happen and be. :) Thanks for your work!!
+Running Raw Yes, I think it does. It is just harder sometimes when I don't feel good to do the things that I know are good for me. Takes some extra effort..
I am not raw vegan so after eating and full I am craving something sweet and because it's not easy to walk in to a shop and buy ready to eat fruit I end up buying something full of sugar food and drink, this is a habit since childhood and really hard to fight
I thought I would stop overeating once I went vegan, or that I could eat as much as I want, but I still eat until I feel sick and get bad bloating. Especially now since I have Achilles tendonitis and am having trouble training just as my senior year of XC starts... My goal for 300 miles in the summer is already compromised. I'm so stressed that I won't PR this year or make it to regionals, so I just eat whenever my Achilles keeps me from running or is hurting after running. Anyway, thanks for acknowledging this issue.
Emily Barnett I'm sorry to hear about your challenges. I know that it might feel like the end of the world right now, but you've got a long running career ahead of you, if you want one. This is just a blip on the radar... be gentle with yourself :)
I never believed in carbing the f up either. It's just replacing one eating disorder with another. I watched those you tubers for a while but never felt right abt what they were saying. Ten banana smoothies sounds really gross anyway.

Tears are running down my face and I just want to say thank you for this video. For so many reasons that I can't even begin to type. Thank you.

So glad to have you in my life as a mentor Tim.
***** glad to have you along for the ride :)
Thank you for standing up on this issue. A person should eat according to their activity and weight loss/gain goals. It's technical.
Todd Johnson thanks. Yes, it's totally individual.

Michelle Marilyn so glad you honored what was right for you. There is no 'one size fits all' plan when it comes to consumption.
Tim, thanks sharing all your ideas. I really learned a lot from you. Send you a warm hug for the situation you are dealing with right now. Hope the issues will solved soon. Thanks again
sanne.und.die.jungs thank you. That is very kind.
Love it n you Brother, blessing the world with your truth, thank you!
***** looking forward to seeing you next week at the WFF :)
Mark Tassi thanks for adding to the conversation. More people need to speak up about it.
Mark Tassi I look forward to seeing your take on it. The video I made today is an 'extended dance mix' version of yesterday's thoughts.
Just recently found you on UA-cam, glad I did. Love the tidbits of knowledge that can be applied and transformed into wisdom.
***** thanks for tuning in :D
Thank you so much for your humanity. From France :)
Sarah El H thank you for tuning in and relating. From Vert Mont :)
Thank you for making this video Tim ❤. I have struggled with this issue for most of my life, and it is very real for me. It has decreased a bit since I became plant-based and properly nourished, but I still have episodes especially when I am stressed.
My Vegan Life Ⓥ the same happened to me. A raw diet helped with some of it, but stressors always trigger it.
Thank you
Onnie Pendergraft thanks for tuning in :)

Lisa Kins when you embrace the pain and offer it gentleness, things begin to change... instead of a fight, hold yourself tight :)
THANK YOU!
I always enjoy your videos, good work.
PlantbasedQuietriot thank you, I appreciate that.

Smile_Brighter we all have different triggers... a full belly is a big one for me.
thank you so much for this video. It really hits home, for me!
VendettaJoy does eating a lot make you want to eat more?
I love this video. You are amazing! And I connect very much
+marina triener I'm happy that you connected with it. More people need to address this subject.

Love watching your videos. Thank you!
Tracy Brusman thanks for tuning in.
Your comment makes way more sense, than those idiotic carb the f... up advises.
Thank you for this video! That sounds really clear and useful.
+flowersandlemons I hope it helps.

Thanks Tim, very true. And what if we dont have access to nature or sport activity to get rid of craving? What do you suggest to focus on?
thank you, as usual

+Mandy Crago I agree. It doesn't address the underlying issues.
:)
Omg that’s me
Do you think Tim, that distension can be caused of the food is not chewed enough when we are stressed?
+angeldudina it's about the stomach stretching... it activates the stretch receptors.
+Running Raw stomach stretching? please explain more, I dont really get it
+angeldudina distention is the stretching of the stomach. It does not like to be stretched so much.
I fast to reset my digestive clock.
Ramona Leigh how often do you fast?
I fast when I think I need to. Sometimes it's just a day or 2 or three. It helps me focus on my health.
BullsEye! Right on.....(Am Sorry above ongoing sh--stuff!)
Mike H. thanks :)
I’ve never heard anyone else say they walk around with their belly held in !
