Не случайно же Димаш родился в Актобе , что находится недалеко от космоцентра " Байконур " ... Но с целью сокрытия неоспоримого факта своего инопланетного происхождения , он в одном из интервью соврал , что он " простой пацан из Актобе "- хитрец ! Иначе ничем нельзя объяснить того факта , почему я , 82 - х летний меломан , ежедневно слушаю его с 21 . 01 . 2017 года и его вокал мне ни разу не надоел , а других певцов мирового уровня уже слушать не хочется - они поют для моего слуха , а Димаш - для моей души ...

W jednym z mini wywiadów Dimash powiedział, że to piosenka o nim i o wszystkich ludziach migrujących do innych krajów z różnych powodów. Dimash w końcu roku 2016 pojechał do Chin na konkurs I'm Singer . Został w Chinach następne 3 lata. Nie znał zni angielskiego, ani mandarynskiego i był po raz pierwszy tak daleko od rodziny. Musiał udowodnić, że da sobie radę. Instrument na początku to kobyz. Jeden z najstarszych instrumentów strunowych na ziemi. Piosenka STRANGER ma zakres od C2 do F6 . W środku piosenki są 4 wokalizy. Pierwsza mieści się w zakresie F4 do C5 , druga C5 do F5 trzecią F5 do C6 I czwarta C6 do F6. W ułamku sekundy spada z szóstej oktawy do drugiej . Niesamowite!!!! Na końcu nutka F#5 na jednym oddechu przez 20 sekund. Mistrzostwo świata. Serdecznie pozdrawiam z Polski

Kobyz is an ancient tool of the Kazakh people. It was used in ancient times by steppe shamans-healers for various rites. Kobyzy is made from a single piece of wood. This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. According to the ancient beliefs of many people, only in a single piece will the living singing soul of the tree remain, which will sound in the instrument. The open body and strings of the kobyz from a bunch of 30-60 untwisted horse hair give a very thick, overtone-rich timbre. 🔝🔝

Also the reason he does so many different styles with highs and lows is because of Igor Krutoy, the piano player. He writes the music that showcases Dimash’s voice. Igor came out of retirement, as I understand, when he heard Dimash sing in Russia. He wanted to work with him and have him sing his music. They make a great pair.

By the way, STRANGER is his original song, composed by Igor Krutoy specifically for Dimash. Whenever you see Igor Krutoy accompanying him on the piano during a live performance, like in this video, it means that he composed the song for Dimash. Igor Krutoy is a famous Ukrainian- Russian composer who has been collaborating with Dimash for some time now. Passione, Ave Maria, and Olimpico for instance are all Dimash’s originals composed by Krutoy.
It was Dimash’s idea to incorporate the beautiful and haunting sound of the Qobyz, the traditional Kazakh string instrument, masterfully played by Olzhas Kurmanbek: what a brilliant addition to the composition! It gives much more depth to the meaning of the song I think.
Also, listening to Stranger is in and of itself a musical journey where we’re accompanying Dimash through this “stranger’s land” with each and every vocal technique and singing style which denotes a different culture and path in life.
Dimash does not use his vocal abilities to show off, but to serve the song: through his voice, he’s telling us a story; like in his latest masterpiece that he composed himself, “The Story of One Sky” (we are divided into different countries, races and faiths, but we all share the same sky: this song is a cry for peace and unity).
Dimash has a vocal range of over 7 octaves, which is quite impressive; but that’s not what defines him. He sounds exquisite at any range, which is incredible in and of itself.
Besides, his voice has so many colors and tone to it, not mentioning his vocal dynamics. His voice is soaring only to express his intense emotions, whether it’s a cry for help (SOS), a yearning (Samaltau), or to express pain or loss (The Story of One Sky). Dimash, being a composer himself (“Unforgettable Day”- Ұмытылмас күн, The Story of One Sky, El Amor en Ti…), knows how the song he interprets must be delivered. Indeed, what I love about Dimash is that he does not use his vocal abilities to show off, but to serve the song: through his voice, he’s telling us a story.
In short, he’s not only a masterful vocalist - It’s precisely thanks to his mastery that Dimash is able to freely dive, and tap, into his emotions; but also an amazing storyteller. Above all, he’s a soulful, genuine, passionate, and humble artist. He’s not only an exceptional vocalist, but also an accomplished musician, and an amazing performer.
At last, know that Dimash is classically trained - he even declined a position as an opera singer when he was only 22, and has absolute pitch (a rare cognitive trait by the way) which was discovered when he was only 5 years old.

He is so awesome, isn’t he? Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I’m a real fan of movies that have such a mystical or oriental atmosphere. And it was such a great idea by Dimash to use the Kobysz for that.
The kobyz is a very old Kazakh folk instrument and it’s spread among Kazakhs. The man who often is playing the kobyz in Dimash’s performance (also here in Stranger) is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You often can hear this instrument when Dimash sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter.
He sang this song on the New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international contest for young performers founded by Igor Krutoy in 2002. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy (the gentleman on the piano) wrote this song like so many other masterpieces for Dimash.
Igor Krutoy is a famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship.
Please react to another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for him at Dimash's request, Ave Maria. He performed this song on the same show as Stranger. If you know any of the many versions of this song, this is not one of them. But definitely a must if you want to hear an angel sing.

Es una vibra y energía diferente que no puedes entender, solo puedes sentir. Inevitablemente, un escalofrío empieza a recorrer los poros de tu piel y no puedes contener las lágrimas, que brotan de forma natural y, he aquí, empiezas a sentir tu cuerpo flotando, casi levitando, yendo a otra dimensión, en un estado de éxtasis. . Me lleva a pensar en la voz de Dimash y el elemento terapéutico que supuestamente tiene en muchas personas. A menudo he comentado sobre la capacidad de Dimash para transmitir emociones profundas a través de su voz (incluso cuando existen barreras del idioma, Dimash parece capaz de transmitir el sentimiento vocalmente). Por los videos que he visto y los artículos que he leído, Dimash es un ser humano muy enfocado (¡obviamente talentoso!), que tiene un profundo sentido de conexión con las cosas simples de la vida: familia, fe, belleza, niños, amistades y respeto. (No digo que estas sean las únicas cosas que valora, pero parecen ser recurrentes). The 2 stringed instrument is called a kobyz played by the amazing Olzhas Qurmanbek a fellow coountryman of Dimash's (pronounced Dee-mosh, not mashed potatoes). The man works on his vocals everyday, so he's been extending his range in both directions. If you watch El Amore En Ti you can hear how even clearer those baritone notes sound...a year later (from this performance). Thank you for another enjoyable reaction.

The instrument is a Qobyz (kobyz) - a traditional instrument from the region where Dimash comes from. The artist is Olzhas (his last name escapes me!) and further in this video, Dimash refers to him as the best Qobyz player in the world. I wouldn’t doubt it. This instrument has figured predominantly in some of Dimash’s videos in Kazakh (Qyrian Elim? Sp?). I’d love to try playing Qobyz at least once (trained on cello for many years!).
