  • After operating trips in the south, Locomotive Services Ltd's Southern Railway West Country Pacific 34046 'Braunton' returned from Southall to Crewe on Monday 14 September 2020.
It is seen here just south of the site of the long closed Whitmore Station, between Stafford and Crewe, running about ten minutes late.
Apologies for the lack of sound, especially as Braunton approached. After a relatively peaceful wait for it's arrival, a team of contractors who had been cutting down trees and shrubs decided to start up an industrial shredder, which, with impecccable timing finished soon after Braunton passed.

Glad you manage to capture the move Rob. I expected Searchlight Lane so a nice change of location. At one of my regular locations it's either a chainsaw or gunfire as background noise..... Do you think it's deliberate Lol. Cheers, Brian.

It crossed my mind it might be a bolshy farmer Brian, but it turned out to be power workers cutting back trees that were close to overhead cables. They left just as I did and I had to follow them to the nearest main road, so I guess it's just sods law lol.
