I know some people think Walkins Glen was great but really it was just ok, the finish was thrilling I guess, and Chase finally won a race, but I don’t like Chase, so I don’t really care, I see where your coming from, but to me 2018 sucked.

lol I was at the 2021 Coke 600. That was in fact a very boring finish. I was also at that 2017 Pocono race. Was hype to see my favorite driver win, but besides passing Hamlin and then using the bumper to move Harvick in the same lap, he won in boring fashion.
I’ve been to both the ‘18 & ‘20 Auto Club 400 and these races were boring at the track, but once the next gen came into play in ‘22, It produced amazing racing. Unfortunately we’ll never know it’s full potential…
long green flag run races are miles better than having like 13 restarts in the last 40 laps, sometimes it's nice to have races like these regardless if they're entertaining or not
That Talladega finish with Logano pissed me off. I absolutely hated that "bubble" style plate racing with the Gen 6. From like 2014 to 2018, ever superspeedway race the leader always had such a massive advantage.
I can excuse the Logano win at Talladega because it's Talladega. I could've been big, there could've been a huge wreck or a photo finish. I don't blame the announcers for thinking that Talladega was gonna 'Talladega' the field

They just pulled out to big leads at the finish and you could see they were going to win with not much else happening throughout the field from 30 or 40 to go. Plus we have dominating performances that weren’t necessarily boring finishes like a few of Harvicks wins at Texas or phoenix where he made passes for the win within 20 or 15 laps to go. Pretty much why he was nicknamed the closer lol.
This is why I hope for late cautions if the leader is half a lap ahead. It keeps the last part of the race interesting. As long as a villian doesn't win

It just shows NASCAR needs to work on this next Gen car, but they are too busy arguing with teams about it charters that they let happen and now don’t want to honor the obvious next step.

The Roval and the Summer Daytona race were the only races that I personally enjoyed from that season. The rest was all 😴😴
