@@darrylweidenhofer I’ve got allllll kinds of prepping videos I could do! Thanks for letting me know because I will be happy to I like helping and I like giving info that is useful for ppl in these uncertain times. Would you prefer gear videos or food vids or both
That's really cool. Food has become so expensive here its hard for many people to prep. I am ok as I know how to survive. I was a cook butcher builder farmer and a pest controller in my life so have many skills to deal with things. When I leave here next year with money i am receiving I will buy a homestead grow dehydrate and preserve my food
@@darrylweidenhofer those butchery skills are so important too I wish I knew how to do that properly it’s something we all used to know. My Dad could have taught me easily but he did all the deer pigs etc when I wasn’t there. I’ve got a book that is excellent for it but nothing teaches better than doing and hands on instruction from someone who really knows.
@@darrylweidenhofer the potatoes are still in the ground here even with that 23 degrees cold we are in so I hope they’re ok I know the ground will preserve them but I wonder if they’re down low enough for that or if I should pull them tomorrow? What do you think. Also I’ve got potatoes in pots maybe I need to move them into the garage
@CabinGRL You could mulch them. What I do is just harvest what I need and leave the plant growing. At that temp the plants would be burnt so they wont fill much more so yeah harvest them and enjoy.
@CabinGRL iIn pots you need to. I watched a show where they went into the Andes mountains to a lake. In the mud there was 500 year old potatoes left by the incas and preserved as the mud had no oxygen. If I can find it I will pin it.
@ Ok yeah I will go ahead and pull them today I hope I get something decent if they’re not doing much yet I’ll just leave them in place and let them feed the soil decompose. Last year I had hundreds of pounds of taters but this year not nearly as much

@@montymartin4493 oh yes for real I did that 2.5 years ago I didn’t have the vacuum pack machine but I put them in the freezer to kill any bugs (not with all of them but as much as I could) and put them in Mylar bags then heat sealed them up with a straight iron. Rice too.
That looks good ❤️🙌🙏🏻✝️🥰
Thanks I love anything to do with prepping as believe me we will need it.
