    Pineapple is the best fruit ever, and workin in fruit receiving at Golden Circle was the best job ever. I miss you, Pineapples. 😢

    I'm a bit envious that you can grow these in your yard. I just learned that the bromelain can reduce bruising, swelling, and even help reduce plaque in the blood vessels. The down side is that it can also negate certain medications.

      ​@@wendyleslie6461 georthermal greenhouse would likely be your best option. I have a business not too far away from here that grows tropical fruits in their geothermal greenhouse. I am in Canada btw

    It's like a berry, sort of. You don't want to pick a berry that doesn't remove either. Good info. Did you already do a more extensive video on pineapple, that I missed? I would love to learn even more about them.

    I love letting my pineapples get borderline overripe before cutting, once the whole thing shifts from green to yellow and the leaves come off with little effort the pineapple to its core will be delicious and so sweet

    You can also smell the bottom of the pineapple. That's the best way to test them at the grocer.

    i have about 20 pineapple plants in south florida.
    in my experience ya pick it when its about half yellow if you want the sweet and tart taste. full yellow can be too sweet. like a potato turns to starch, a pineapple turns to sugar.

      @@cjgames001 about two thirds of the plants i grow bloom a pinapple every year in south florida. june or july they ripen.
      the other third don't seem to bloom every year, but i am not an expert on how to bloom pineapples.

    pineapple is my favorite fruit. I can't imagine how good a home grown fresh pineapple would taste. very jealous sir. no way I could grow them in my climate, unfortunately.

    When I get a pineapple from the store it seems like it ripens on the counter after a couple days.

    The "Fruits" only RIPPEN while alive, & Start to ROOTEN, the second they are picked....this goes for everything. You Sir; truely have a "Master-piece" of delectable nature & are Rewarded by YOUR EFFORTS .

    I cant wait for my pineapples to produce fruit.. i was given a large plant that had about 20 pups.. they have grown considerably.. i cant quite remember how long ago i got them.. Northern rivers

    What variety is this one? The one I have will have some slips attached to the base of the fruit, so one pineapple harvested means at least 8 new plants.

    I'm a little confused because pineapple absolutely ripens off the plant. I buy my pineapple green, and a week later it's orange and ripe from ripening off the plant..

      They're known to soften, like they will eventually rot on the counter, but they won't ripen in the sense that starches won't convert to sugars. They won't get any sweeter after picking.

    I have a pineapple plant that is at least 2 years old I haven't gotten a pineapple from it yet

      Some plants take even 3 years keep it in direct sunlight and keep fertilizing regularly you will get one for sure 😊.

      Thank you for this advice. Mine is two or three and still no pineapples. Store bought and brought inside for winter, I could be better about fertilizer but it's still gets some.

      I put it under a grow light that most people use for weed lol and keep it in a grow tent 18/6 light dark. Am I doing it ok?

    So i learned that when you pick the top leaves on the pineapple itself if they cone out easy they are ripe and ready to eat if they dont come out easy you just wait

      2-3 years to produce a pineapple is normal
      Even once it flowers it’s still 6 months or more before ripe

    Here in the UK... a pineapple is never yellow on the outside. They look more like the dark one.
    Is there different species or is it a random thing?

      I'm not far from Mark & I'm finding it difficult to find a pineapple with a top at the shops.
      A few months ago, I did find some at $6 each, but I was reluctant to pay that at the time. Now I regret not buying one, I haven't found ANY since! 🤦‍♀️

      Which fruit last longer before it spoils? A ripe fruit or a fruit not yet ripe? By picking fruits that aren't ripe increases the chance said fruit won't spoil before its purchased.
