It’s like I got shot, on a wheelchair now and that’s all you got to say to me, I was like wow, people are insensitive. But the very same people are uneducated today with nothing, I persevered, I’m educated with an honors degree, I’m married, have my own house in the burbs, and I have a great job, that pays relatively well. So I look back and I say I made it. Being paraplegic is not easy but I’m determined and intentional about my life, goals and achievements.

The weight thing is so tricky because at times it's said as a compliment (well, in my case since i've been as XS all my life). So, when you say it to others, your intentions are good but rarely land well. I have learnt the hard way and now literally just focus on complimenting everything but the body size.

oh, I went to mrp home & the cashier who wasn't even servicing me called me to the side, made finger gestures while whispering to me how my vagina was positioned in my Jeans (ikalekile). I try brushing it off & she carries on & laughs. I felt so uncomfortable during my entire stay at the mall omw. I felt so bad reporting her coz that could cost her her job but I definitely sent the email because people need to have discipline & not be over familiar with clientele. the area manager called asap & condemned her actions. geez it's so annoying.

I wish people knew the impact their words had hey, trust guys we do see our bodies when we stand in front of a mirror we are aware of our body changes there’s no need to point it out.. I hate it when people talk about how much weight I’ve lost , I am aware and when they point it out , it reminds me that I suffer from an eating disorder and I don’t want to be thinking about that😤😭
For me the most important thing is people need to be educated on body shaming because I think people have no idea how mean and terrible . Our sisters especially need to STOP this .
