I can't begin to put into words how interesting, eye-opening and important this episode was for me. Like most other people, I know the media version of the story. Additionally, I know the EUROPEAN version of the media story, which is even worse. We've had a few similar cases in Europe as well (Brian Wood comes to mind) but nothing quite on this scale. It disgusts me how there are people sick enough to pull such a thing on a family (the kids!) and a man willing to do EVERYTHING for his country (and, ultimately, allied countries as well) just to further their own careers, to act against a president they don't like or to simply take advantage of a little bit of power they got. From the guards and the former team-mates to the people at the NCIS and at various news outlets, this is disgusting. I don't even have words and can only hope he and his family will heal - and be able to help others in need through what sounds like a fantastic non-profit!

I completely get it. While my situation is entirely different, because it happened in 1982, the USAF accepted accusations from 1 person who claimed that they had seen me buying drugs in Amsterdam. With zero evidence, they charged me with use, sale, and transfer across international borders of marijuana in the hashish form. Convicted by a jury of my peers, and sentenced with zero evidence. Military lawyers are a joke, and the JAG goes along with whatever they want the outcome to be. Most of it was commuted, but I still did 9 months and ended my career with a Bad Conduct Discharge. I still completely stand with any enlisted man who is serving, but the officers get no respect. I made E5 in under 3 years, and was in a program called Below the Zone for E6. He definitely got railroaded by the Establishment that he served for over 17 years. Damn shame..

I'm a little late in watching this video but hearing Chief Gallagher's story reminds me of a book I read titled "Honor and Betrayal" by Patrick Robinson. Anyone remember a guy by the name of Jim Gant? He got the same sort of treatment. It is shameful that our warriors are treated in this manner.

Daamn it! I was a Marine on active duty with Echo Company 2/9, 1st platoon. We never took any problems out of our Platoon.The Marine Corps is under the Department of the Navy. Obviously, The Men's Department. We wouldn't cry about a haircut and a Redbull. WTF? I'll use this analogy the Navy is eating their young during a drought. The only crimes I see is insubordination on the part of the command, prosecutorial misconduct and extreme command influence.
The worst leadership I had (Navy) took me to NJP and then didn't even show up to it. Another chief who knew me did. The master chief over my board decided it was best to not continue with punishment over something so petty and literally wanted to know why they wasted his time and didnt' take care of it within our division. (I told a first class to fuck off as a second class). Also, I've got some crayons for you to eat marine.
If you ever were on a ship, in a Navy Command, or on a Navy Base this is all thier normal BS. They are the most fucked up branch of the military ever. I spent my last 5 yrs before I retired from the Corps at a Navy base. It was a living hell. I had Marines get charged with hazing for conducting PT for our Marine students. Again for running MCMAP training. They thought we were running some sort of hazing fight club. I had to provide the MCMAP order to the Navy CO to be allowed to start it back up. Inspector Gen investigation because we did room inspections on students. I could go on and on. They are so fucked up they dont even know their own orders. And even when they do they only follow the ones they want. Race problems, PI mafia, sexual assaults, drug abuse, it is unreal.....Eddie did his first tour with Marines then spent the rest of his career in "the Teams". He never really knew what the regular Navy was like....He found out!!!! Semper FI!
spencer corey I’ve got a similar story, except I got hit with a field grade article 15. I got 45/45. All because I told an E5 to fuck off because he was giving me shit during a PT test. The kicker is the guy got promoted the day before, and I wasn’t at the promotion formation for it and had no idea. There seriously needs to be a reform of UCMJ, and the rank structure as a whole in the military. There’s too much shit left over from the class systems of the 18th century. I think it’s a DoD problem not just the Navy. I was in the Army. I’ve heard similar from Marines and the Air Force. You can’t tell someone to fuck off, but a E8/9 or an O can drive a car into the Front Gate guard shack shit faced and catch a retirement. No rank, pay, or time lost.
Listen I was in, 8 years in the Army. Never a team or SF and would never claim to know what goes on in those ranks. However I do know that even in the regular grunt ranks you cant do fucked up shit without SOMEBODY seeing it and best believe you will get checked. The teams are copping a lot of bad press from this. (and God bless the teams) I think that it's important to keep in mind that Aside from the four team guys, the real criminals here were the NCIS and the upper brass. It is indeed the system that has failed not only Eddie, but anyone who has to go through the Military Justice System who are unable to get legal representation in a timely manner to build a defense.

I’m not a vet or military, but I went through some shit with my sons mother saying all kinds of horrible shit about me that wasn’t true and the courts and DCFS ate it up it took almost a year for them to figure out it was bullshit !! , thank god eddie was set free and something should be done about people who strait lie and try to ruin people !!!
I have worked with many many people who said stupid benign comments, got in trouble with some form of governmental body, and have suffered because of it. The sad thing is a lot of them get 'in trouble' again and again in their life because they refuse to learn to keep their mouth shut.
I'm a little late in watching this video but hearing Chief Gallagher's story reminds me of a book I read titled "Honor and Betrayal" by Patrick Robinson. Anyone remember a guy by the name of Jim Gant? He got the same sort of treatment. It is shameful that our warriors are treated in this manner.

Daamn it! I was a Marine on active duty with Echo Company 2/9, 1st platoon. We never took any problems out of our Platoon.The Marine Corps is under the Department of the Navy. Obviously, The Men's Department. We wouldn't cry about a haircut and a Redbull. WTF?
I'll use this analogy the Navy is eating their young during a drought. The only crimes I see is insubordination on the part of the command, prosecutorial misconduct and extreme command influence.
The worst leadership I had (Navy) took me to NJP and then didn't even show up to it. Another chief who knew me did. The master chief over my board decided it was best to not continue with punishment over something so petty and literally wanted to know why they wasted his time and didnt' take care of it within our division. (I told a first class to fuck off as a second class). Also, I've got some crayons for you to eat marine.

If you ever were on a ship, in a Navy Command, or on a Navy Base this is all thier normal BS. They are the most fucked up branch of the military ever. I spent my last 5 yrs before I retired from the Corps at a Navy base. It was a living hell. I had Marines get charged with hazing for conducting PT for our Marine students. Again for running MCMAP training. They thought we were running some sort of hazing fight club. I had to provide the MCMAP order to the Navy CO to be allowed to start it back up. Inspector Gen investigation because we did room inspections on students. I could go on and on. They are so fucked up they dont even know their own orders. And even when they do they only follow the ones they want. Race problems, PI mafia, sexual assaults, drug abuse, it is unreal.....Eddie did his first tour with Marines then spent the rest of his career in "the Teams". He never really knew what the regular Navy was like....He found out!!!! Semper FI!
spencer corey I’ve got a similar story, except I got hit with a field grade article 15. I got 45/45. All because I told an E5 to fuck off because he was giving me shit during a PT test. The kicker is the guy got promoted the day before, and I wasn’t at the promotion formation for it and had no idea. There seriously needs to be a reform of UCMJ, and the rank structure as a whole in the military. There’s too much shit left over from the class systems of the 18th century. I think it’s a DoD problem not just the Navy. I was in the Army. I’ve heard similar from Marines and the Air Force. You can’t tell someone to fuck off, but a E8/9 or an O can drive a car into the Front Gate guard shack shit faced and catch a retirement. No rank, pay, or time lost.
Listen I was in, 8 years in the Army. Never a team or SF and would never claim to know what goes on in those ranks. However I do know that even in the regular grunt ranks you cant do fucked up shit without SOMEBODY seeing it and best believe you will get checked. Either in paperwork or the wood line/barracks blind spot. Have done my far share of checking and getting checked. I saw through that bullshit from jumpstreet. I stand with ya EG and the rest of the BRCC boys

I've been thinking lately about what if I were to rejoin the military. Stuff like this, especially this and guys I personally know on a smaller scale, tell I would definitely not go back to the Navy. Army or Air Force, maybe. But nothing having to do with the Navy.

(and God bless the teams) I think that it's important to keep in mind that Aside from the four team guys, the real criminals here were the NCIS and the upper brass.
