Great video! Very comprehensive and nice touch with the deck plan visual to the left. Made it easier to follow along with you. You have a nice tone of voice which overall made it a pleasure to watch. Thanks!
We have been on the fantasy 6 times and are taking an 8 night Christmas cruise in early December. We never get tired of looking at videos and your tour is one of the best I have seen! Thank you for sharing!
I love this video so much and im so sad that bc of covid me and my familiy cant go since we've been there and, but this video is bringing me back very happy memories :)
I enjoyed your tour . . . it was most helpful in order to decide whether or not I would want to take a cruise on the Disney Fantasy . . . and I appreciate your showing each location on the ship deck diagram on the left!
Wonderful video. We live for Disney Cruises. lol. We couldn't go this year because of home remodeling but next year we will be back on the Fantasy, your video although teases us also gave us a wonderful visit of our favorite ship. Thank you for this.
keen eyed fans of The Beatles would notice, when y'all were in "the tube" i noticed "All You Need Is Love" in the background. Great video tour btw. Keep up the great work and happy 2021
I've been on 6 Disney cruises but i just love watching this when I'm not on a cruise but now I'm really missing Disney now that everything is cancelled
As great as it was when we sailed on her from Bremerhaven to New York in 2012,its home for us, we know the ship intimately and this is the best video of her
I discovered your channel when I was searching for videos to prepare my kids (7 & 10) for our 1st cruise, which will be on the Fantasy in March. They were exactly what I was looking for and now the whole family is addicted to your vlogs! My daughter (7) asks me every Mon/Fri “Is there a new video from Jen & Brandon yet?” 😆
I miss the Disney Fantasy. The time I write this it was in Port Canaveral. I have been on the ship 1 time sadly. But my favorite is the Disney Wonder. It is a great ship with great restaurants. You guys are great. 🚢⚓️
My family and I went on a disney cruise on the Fantasy last May, and it was a life changing experience for us. We don't go on a lot of vacations, in fact it was my wife's and my first vacation since our honeymoon 10 years ago! This video brought us back to the magic we experienced on board the Fantasy! And we even discovered areas we never saw! Thank you for doing this INCREDIBLY detailed tour of the ship! It made me feel like we were there all over again! I really enjoyed all your vlogs of your disney cruise! My wife and kids and myself really enjoyed watching! Keep up the good work!
Aw omg this looks so beautiful! But I believe we have to cancel ours unfortunately :( I’m glad you guys had fun here tho! Great video, you have no idea how much I view this video lol😅
Great video! You don't happen to have videos/images of the artwork in the stairwells do you? There's one large landscape painting of London (maybe from Mary Poppins or Peter Pan?) that has been stuck in my mind from either the Fantasy or the Magic. I'd love to get a print of it - but can't yet find it!
A few simple things to remember to help get around any ship (don't worry, I won't get heavily into detail) bow - the front section of the ship (tip: where does a bow tie go - even though it's not pronounced the same way - in front of you, not in back) stern - the rear (tip: if you turn your back on your parents they'll give you a stern lecture about manners) port - the left side (facing the front or bow) tip: port and left both have four letters starboard - the right side (again, facing the front or bow) beam - how wide the ship is. If the captain says the ship's beam is 90 feet, then it is 90 feet wide hope that helps you navigate a little easier. He said Animators Palate was "in the aft of the ship." This is a simple error. "aft" is direction, meaning walking to the rear of the ship. He could say "Animators Palate is in the stern of the ship." If heading to the bow or the front, you say "Let's head forward." Now if we wanted to be really complex, I challenge people to translate this (from page 10 of "Under the black flag" by David Cordingly, a historian who was an advisor on the set of the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean): "Lift the skin up and put into the bunt the slack of the clews (not too taut), the leech and foot-rope, and body of the sail; being careful not to let it get forward under or hand down abaft. Then haul your bunt well up on the yard, smoothing the skin and bringing it down well abaft, and make fast the burnt gasket round the mast, and the jigger, if there be one, to the tie." Didn't get it? Basically, it's saying to wrap the top of a sail over a yardarm and make sure that it doesn't get tangled by twisting forward or back. Make sure the corners (clews) are rigged and pull it around the back (abaft) of the yardarm (the long horizontal pole). The bunt refers to the belly of the sail if it is square so you're trying to raise it and keep it from getting wrinkled while bringing the cloth around the yard. Then you attach a line to hold it in place. Even today, it isn't any better. Listen to how they speak during the America's Cup. Fortunately, the commentators do a good job of translating to plain-jane English. For example, the Kiwis' captain said to "bring us closer so we can keep the pressure high. We need to stay out till we tack port." What's happening is the Americans are behind the Kiwis and the wind is coming from bow to stern but at an angle. The skipper (Russell Coutts) was telling his crew to steer the ship using the sails to angle it farther to their left. This blocks the wind from the Americans, "stalling" their vessel (perfectly legal, is done all the time). The Americans were nearly crippled and couldn't regain their speed. Then Coutts told the crew to keep the pressure up. This means keep the sail angled so that it captures the most wind. Pressure is another term for wind. Speaking in nautical terms is not easy and I really do consider it a foreign language!
I remember the last time I went I was young my parents wanted my sisters and I to take a picture with Mickey and Minnie and I wouldn’t get near Minnie I would only get near Mickey that’s the only think I remember about the cruise I remember What the cruise looks like but not the inside I probably didn’t go since 3 or 2 years old I would enjoy going again even though I only went once
I looked at the deck plans on my laptop and watched this video on my tv screen and followed along. It was super helpful in visualizing how to navigate the ship thank you so much. Minor correction for you though...La Piazza is a chic Italian themed lounge, not French :) really enjoyed this video thanks again!
