I remember growing up with Ricky Nelson music and television shows in the 1950"s. I always loved his songs presented in such a professional manor where you could understand the lyrics and music very clearly. I remember hearing the news of his death in a plane cash while I was entertaining in Prairie du Chien Wisconsin, located by the Mississippi River. He will live forever in the groves of his records, and in the heart's of his fans across the world!.

Now I'm a UA-cam fan and have found so many older songs and some new music as well, or at least new to me. I don't remember this version of I Will Follow Him, but I love it. The other version my girlfriends in grade school use to sing on our walks around the school during our lunch hour! Nowadays instead of my transistor radio, I take my tablet with me to listen to - technology of today!

They're still exposed to it, they just don't choose to listen it because they have different opinions than you.
@@wadewatts8824 true. When you're 11 years old, you don't get to really choose where you're exposed to🙁
There are still songs like these that are produced you know and people of varying ages are still listening to them.
Stop acting like so elitist, buddy.
@@wadewatts8824 Left wing politics and corporate media are moving America in a devolving direction, away from freedom toward dependency where one loses a sense of self and becomes the group think. Music and art have always told the story of the direction society is headed in. Drugs and the welfare state was the beginning of the end for America. 1963 was before both.
@@samualcrocket1405 You're entitled to your own opinion. If anything, people are getting more freedom and equality than they ever have. Music still is and always will be a form of self expression, you just dislike when someone's true self isn't what you want it to be.
We couldn't even hope that any other generation would ever have the quality of music that we did. Ricky was one of the greatest among many.
Hey how are you doing?😊
all good
I so agree with you.

What a wonderful carefree time we had with singers like him!!! Beautiful!!
Hello 👋 Jean
Where’s this kind of romantic lyrics and true love gone? These days people use you in the name of love and bring a bad name to true love and lose their feelings quickly .. Beautiful voice , great composition and wonderful song . bravo listening to Ricky in 2024
WAS FÜR EIN SCHÖNES Lied. SCHADE DAS ES HEUTE SO ETWAS NICHT MEHR GIBT
That gorgeous face, that smooth, mellow voice! When I was a young girl (about eleven so twelve), I was in love with him. Fifty-seven years later he still makes me swoon. What a shame he passed so young. His twin boys did well for a while. I wonder what they’re up to now.❤️🦘
They're still performing: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelson_(band)
He also had a daughter who was an actress. I hope they are all thriving
@@elisabeth6809 Well, I never knew that! Thanks for the info. Now I’m gonna google his biography. ❤️🦘
They're playing..carrying on their dads legacy...

Wonderful times in the sixes when we were young we were so lucky
Rick was truly talented I
met him at The Main Point
and he shared 15 minutes downstairs explaining the music business and keeping at it. His death was tragic
Rest in peace Rick and ty for all shows and tunes you shared with America
God bless

Мне сейчас 46 и я нахожусь в другой стороне планеты, но я одинаково восхищаюсь этой композицией!!! 2024 год
Popped up again and here I am listening again.🎉❤Follow your heart and it will bring you happiness. God BLESS everyone.😇
Great rendition of the Peggy March song. Love Ricky’s version!
The original singer was Petula Clark. It was a French version. Peggy March made it famous, and Ricky Nelson lovely... 😎😎😎
@@jefffdz3948 And the music is 100% French: Franck Pourcel (using the pseudonym J.W. Stole) and Paul Mauriat (using the pseudonym Del Roma).
@@hermes3386Tout a fait exact.😉
Ricky Nelson your music remains stored in my teen cells forever….still following y-o-u into and beyond the ethers.

It was a French song, the first American version was I will follow him by Little Peggy March, this version had the change of him to you, both were great renditions!
Unbelievably good looking and much talent. What more could one want?
I remember growing up with Ricky Nelson music and television shows in the 1950"s. I always loved his songs presented in such a professional manor where you could understand the lyrics and music very clearly. I remember hearing the news of his death in a plane cash while I was entertaining in Prairie du Chien Wisconsin, located by the Mississippi River. He will live forever in the groves of his records, and in the heart's of his fans across the world!.
I was born in 1951 and have enjoyed music all my life! It seemed like wherever we went there was a radio or jukebox or stereo playing.
Yes, He was stoned and flying the plane. Good work Ricky! You killed others as well.
I'm 35 years old. Today i discovered this amazing artist. 🙏Love it. 😍
Hello There
What a pinnacle time in America. Wish I could of lived during that time
Yet this is a French song, just like "My Way" (Sinatra) and "Can't stop falling in Love" (Presley)...

the phenomenally talented teen angel performer Ricky Nelson
Ricky Nelson! Every time I listen to him I also recall his tragic end. A retired Catholic priest in Canada.
