I love my Cuts t's. But $50-60 for a gym shirt or lounging T is a bit much. For everyday around the house or gym I wear True Classics. great fit and the price is excellent

I stumbled across an ad on UA-cam and thought it was probably BS but the True Classics fit great and make you look pretty ripped in comparison to shirts that fit like a sack. Wish the material was a little bit thicker but for for the price and fit I can live with it. I’m glad I saw the ad as I’ve bought way more expensive T’s that are crap in comparison.

T shirts are like jeans. It takes you years to find a brand that fits, suits your style and budget. I have tried countless T shirts from budget to designer and from now just shop at a well known Spanish retail chain for them. Great video my friend and glad to know you love the T shirt.

The last part about being out of the gym for a while and coming back really hit home. I've had to relearn how to do the simplest movements that I thought I knew how to do way back in my football days. But now I'm seeing that if you're working out for hypertrophy versus just pure strength you need to lift differently and I've had to learn that. It's been an interesting journey thus far. Best wishes to you

I have about 20 black t shirts I wear often for regular days. They are athletic cut and fitting to my body. I have a few white ones I usually wear under a sweater or cardigan depending on the color of the outside layer. I mostly wear a black t shirt & tailored jeans most days.

Totally agree about T-Shirts. I am wearing T-Shirts when I'm doing sport, to go to the beach, or on vacation, but I won't wear a T-Shirt to go to the restaurant or in the evening if I'm going out.
I'm also going to the gym since a few months, and I have to find a trainer to explain me what to do, as now I am only doing everything by myself at the gym without any advice.

I'm a big fan of Vuori's excercise gear. They are pricey but good quality and super comfortable. I especially love their Strato tech tees! They are by far, the most comfortable t-shirts I own. The problem is that I am a shorter guy and had to tailor the shirts to get them to fit me properly which is a bit annoying given how expensive they already are. I work from home so I mostly wear t-shirts on a day-to-day basis but I agree with you on not wearing them out to anywhere nice. If I'm on a Zoom call too, I always try and throw on a polo or button-down just to give a more professional appearance.

I’m going to check these T’s out. Always on the lookout for a good one that will actually hold up.
My current go-to is - don’t laugh - Target Goodfellow t-shirts. Like $8 a piece. In medium, they fit me perfectly and are flattering. Problem is they do NOT hold up and are only good for maybe 3-4 wears before they start to get stretched out and look sloppy.
As to gym clothes, man, Im so simple there right now. Whatever undershirt I have laying around that isn’t stained or old looking and a pair of basketball shorts. Back when my wife used to go with me (before she got a job where she gets in 15k+ steps a day), I tried to wear something a bit nicer for her. Maybe I do need to upgrade a bit again.

I invest in forclosed property so I have a mindset of unless you can match my portfolio I don't care what I wear or what you think of me, why because I can buy whatever I want go where I want at a drop of a dime. I went to buy a Luxury car when I was in my early 30's I asked the salesman what would be the monthly payments. "He said if you have to make payments you don't need it." " If you cant just buy what you want you need to re-evaluate you Income streams" I was talking to the owner of the Luxury dealership who later became one of my Mentors in my circle of success! I tried Cuts one time. Sent shirts back because sizing was WAY off. Yes yes they talk about sizing up IF your normal size (mine is either L or XL depending on mfg) (I wear XL in classic T’s and they fit perfect). So I bought a couple Cuts in size XL. Still too tight. Then went to up XXL. Still too tight. Got a 3X and the neck hole is for a sumo wrestler. Not kidding. I’m only 5’11” and weigh 193 pounds. No way I should need to buy XXL OR 3X From a shirt company to get a good fit. Cuts are probably a fine T shirt company for completely ripped dudes. Not for an average fit dude though.

  • @HunterChristianDarkman

I find that if I wear a size or two down, a T-Shirt can look good as it shows off muscularity. However, at this time for me, I have some additional weight to lose, at the belly. I may never get that area to look the way I want, even though I have a six pack, because I have Diastasis Recti - a split abdomen. This makes it easy for my fat to be stored internally 😞
As for (your) shorts, my first thought was that your underwear was too long! I do have above the knee shorts, but I don't really like them. I prefer very short gym shorts. One chilly day I wore a light jacket with them, when I went to a Walmart. Everyone was giving me strange looks, and finally, a Walmart employee came up from behind in an excited voice saying "Sir! Sir! Do you have any shorts on?!" Seems the jacket was longer than my shorts, and everyone thought I was naked underneath! 🙂

For guys, I see all ages, all body shapes, fit, fat, muscular, and everything in between and there is no consensus for gym apparel. I am surprised that you did not discuss gym shoes. What you put on your feet is far more important than what you put on your body.

It's true about gym clothes. This might ruffle some feathers but it's not meant to belittle anyone. When you're at the gym and you dress like a slob, you tend to perform like a slob. I see dudes literally in their pajamas with Crocs. WTF are you doing? Most of the time, people who actually dress nicer at the gym tend to have better bodies and perform better. They're not lazily moping around barely doing anything and trying to talk everyone's ear off.
Having nice gym attire makes you feel better internally which then, makes you perform better and get those gains faster. At the end of the day, the guys who say they don't care how they look are the same guys that just can't seem to maintain discipline.

Seriously? If you are worried about looking good and have to TRY to look good in a T-shirt, you probably don't belong in one. Kind of like short-shorts on a woman. Either she can rock them or she can't. And if you can rock a T-shirt, because you are fit, then all you need is a fairly tight one.
So basically what you need are muscles and a tight T-shirt or an I don't give a F attitude, but a tailored T-shirt isn't going to look good on anyone with a beer gut, I don't care how well it's cut you are just kidding yourself. Honestly, don't try to kid yourself, because you won't be kidding anyone else.
It's bad advice to try to look good in a t-shirt if you have a gut, it's simply NOT going to happen. You might think so, but nobody else will think, Gee that guy with the beer gut sure looks good thanks to the cut of that shirt. LOL Nope, they are just going to see a dude with a beer gut who should have picked a different shirt.
If you got a gut and your image is that important just stay away from them, don't try and pretend you can look good in something when you can't.

Black t-shirt is a disaster. T-shirt is summery, black is not. T-shirt is sporty, black is formal....
T-shirt itself is underwear or gym clothing. Or kids clothing. IMO.

I wear black t shirts in the summer with casual shorts. Looks fine. I wear all black t shirts when I am not wearing a linen shirt or a polo in the summer. Most people dressed like garbage anyway these days. I’m also very well groomed also.

I definitely prefer a black T-shirt over white. Just my opinion.

I thought Sartorial Level 5 Mega-Red rules, section 5, subsection (b)(1) states that t-shirts are for peasants?

Call me cheap but $50 for a standard tee is a little ridiculous imo.

Not cheap just shows you have a brain

Yikes-- such a blatant ad, really. This entire video is an ad. IF True Classic or any other t-shirt company reached out to you with cash, I bet you'd say the same. Like your channel a lot, but I prefer when you at least put your ad in the context of a video about style. Not this. This is just lazy, pitchman stuff.

No one over 40 should ever wear a t shirt outside
