In your brackets section, one thing to note. I am pretty sure WS1 is the average wind speed while doing a capture. WS2 is the high during that capture. I thought it was low and high also, got myself off a good bit at one match. You can go into the details and verify. I guess I should say, mine is set for WS1 for average, 2 for high. You may have yours set up different. But, thought I would mention that. Good info. I like that you are getting into long range same time I am. My local group's last match for this season next Sunday the 14th. Hoping to push myself to a top 3 finish!! Keep it up, great stuff man!!!
@Runelert Yes. I had myself convinced WS2 was High, so I was estimating wrong when I was having compass issues at one match. Lots of misses, lol. Totally user error. That got me to dive deeper into the features and learn more about the Kestrel. It is great, but there are a lot of things to learn. Better to have a good understanding of what each function does than to guess or assume things. I learned my lesson 😂🤣 Now I am much more confident with the data I get from it after winging it my first outings with the thing.
@Runelert Wait, I said that wrong. I had myself convinced WS1 was low and WS2 was high. So I was manually inputting a low and high number, not using an average speed. That threw me off on the numbers I was getting. It was nearly a year ago, at my 2nd match, so I forgot what I did wrong until I read my comment again, lol.
Good stuff! Quick clarification, in the Kestrel WS1 is Average wind not Low wind so it's affected by how long you let the wind capture run and whether you're catching more of the gust or more of the lull.
You can also get close using the first number of the G1 BC if the MV is 2800 +/- 200fps. Also, the wind is usally quite a bit faster once you get off the ground ill add 20-30% depending on target placement. 2/3rds of the distance dope is max hight of the bullet in flight. Shoot 1k check dope for 660 and thats how high your bullet is flying.. good to think about.
Mad respect for being a good dad, there’s never enough men like you in the world. From one man to another.

WS1 =Average Wind WS2 = Wind Gust
Same as mine 😊

Great video, this explanation helped me wrap my head around quick wind a little easier!
Thanks Jimmy! Hope you’re on the mend. 🙏
Thank you 🙏
He’s like the Quinten Tarantino of guntubers
At matches I also check the wind (vibe) and hold accordingly (a random number) based on math (I'm extremely hungover)
Ahhh, a man (presumably) of sophistication. I too use the SWAG method; Scientific Wild Ass Guess.
Awesome! Thank you
