You would think given the amount of money spent on the arena it look some what better than a Amazon warehouse. If travel around Europe you’ll find beautifuly designed stadium/arenas this as absolutely no architectural thought put into it , all they’ve done is built a large black box , shame on everyone involved.
More like 5 layers, lots of buildings are one box. This will look amazing when it is finished. The top will light up. It is a radical design, nothing else like it.
First I'd heard about this - googled some of the concept art for the finished article. It looks like it will look good lit up... but CO-OP? 😂 The Co-Op logo all over it is completely bizarre. I associate that with buying a bit of fairy liquid or 6 eggs, not running gigs and events
The new Co-op arena, or 'Co-op Live' as it will be known, is a joint venture owned by the Oak View Group and City football Group (CFG), with heavy investment from the member owned Co-op, who are gonna provide practically everything in there.
Yeah, I must admit I thought the same as you when I first heard about this new arena, and what they were naming it as, but 'it is what it is' i suppose, and the Co-op have been in existence for around 180 years, so, with the other food retailers or supermarkets all constantly advertising on TV, billboards, placards and everywhere else these days, the Co-op probably just see this an opportunity to keep their good name out there.
Unfortunately they didn't wind test the design, it was vibration that was it's downfall. Some of the spikes were becoming loose. I loved that sculpture, 80 tons, much higher than the Angel of the north and three times the lean of that little tower in Italy. I watched each day as it was built, so sad to see it go. Maybe they will build something else there one day.
@@JJandDad Yeah, I know. Still less of an eyesore than this monstrosity, though. A big, black blot on the landscape. It doesn't fit in with the area in my opinion.
@mana3735 The publicity images of the new arena look good, when the top part is all lit up. Compared to the AO arena at Victoria Station, it looks very modern, and much more stylish. Suppose we will get used to it.
Stop lying dear inside the stadium "accommodation rooms" are more dope than many stadiums in Europe, even outside is dope is only that you are a hater.

Have you seen the images of what it will look like with it's led top part lit up.
It also is the most environmental arena and will have a living wall, trees, wildflower garden.
Ayer estuve en Munich viendo el Real Madrid... Bayern .y el estadio Allianz Arena es una maravilla creo que es el estadio más bonito de Europa.
Wait till you see it all lit up ,you might change your mind 👌
I've seen the projected views online, I think it's going to look amazing.
I thoght at 1st the arena is blackout on purpose to hide a fancy fassade
💙💙💙💙💙
They can’t fill it as it is 1 grim club which is full of corruption.
Seeking tickets on wowcher 😂😂😂😂 wtf
Really, it looks quite full whenever I've been invited along.
Is it meant to look like the Kaaba?
I didn't design or build it. I just filmed it. No idea where the inspiration came from.
Pretty sure it was a rhetorical question and not aimed specifically at you bro. But I think it was designed around a PS2
@shaz2761 I understand that, the PS2 is a good thought, maybe keeps the younger generations interested. That could catch on as a nickname.
The arena looks awful it’s just 3 boxes on top of each other

Jetzt bräuchte man nur noch ne gescheite Mannschaft.
That stadium will be kick ass in League Two! 😂
Yawn
@@cityzens634 u love it! 🤣🎩🎩🎩
Why would that happen?
Soy del Real Madrid y el Bernabéu no me gusta .
Me gusta el del Bayern Munich es muy bonito .
Looks like quite a few jobs created there.
Quite a lot of permanent jobs.
Those are buildings not jobs.
@voetbal12 But to run the venue it will take people, as it has to build them. Therefore creating jobs.
This new Co-op Arena will provide somewhere between 2,000-4,000 new job openings apparently .....
And City always insist that the jobs they create go to local people.
The best ground in league two.😂😂😂😂
I am guessing you're not a Manchester City fan

The co-op is a Manchester business originally.
That's awful. Bring back the B of the Bang!

Ugliest arena ever?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Not everyone's favourite, but it is quite impressive when you stand near it.
It's going to be all lit up. It is covered in LED Screens
It looks fantastic from outside to be fair. I suppose it will be judged on the experience inside though.
Mejor el bernabeu,mas bonito

El estadio actual es precioso pero este nuevo es una mierda
