This is one of the coolest cars no doubt the only drawback I see is that this has to be bit more practical like no gears and the back hatch should be bigger then even model S can't stand before this go Audi go Audi👍

Just wonder why Audi didn’t go with the TTRS/R8 steering wheel with the integrated start/stop and drive select buttons. As you say - needs more sound. Am sure the deer near-miss would have been avoided had he/she heard you coming :)

In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which body part you would murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse?
The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination. Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally.
For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car.
In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter.
Not using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all just of common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

Let’s hope that those who use the acceleration and top speed have the driving skills and common sense to actually use them without endangering other drivers.

Thing is just begging to be a sportback, would add so much more practicality. I think the interior is the best blend of tech and real buttons, still too much gloss black though. It doesn't even look very good without dust, fingerprints, and scratches. What is wrong with matte materials? The matte carbon fiber looks very premium.

Every time I see these large fastbacks/coupes/hatchbacks I always think the the designers parents had a Citroen CX or Renault 30 when they were a kid.

That’s a big call on the comfort of the Porsche/Audi seats.
I think the naming convention is on point. Usually it would be RS4, RS7, etc, so this is the RS Etron GT. Though I think it would make more sense to do something like RS E7

Good point. Imho the RS prefix works very well with numbers, but it is weird when a longer name is followed. With RSQ8, you can go RSQ8 or RS Q8, its kinda well combined, whereas RSe-tronGT is very weird, and therefore RS e-tron GT, just too complicated. Feels like e-tron GT RS works better. Speak it out loudly and you ll see what I mean :-)

How disappointing that would have been for the GT3 driver.
Personally I feel this looks better than its sister car the Taycan. Also looks as if Audi has been influenced by Peugeot for the dash.

Audi puts the RS at the beginning. You put it at the end. I personally think it should be in the middle. Other than the TT, the RS goes before the model designation. So, E-Tron RSGT makes a little more sense to me.
I always thought of Tesla being an energy/battery company more so than a car company. It's a battery with the notion of a car on top of it. Elon always encouraged competition so it would make sense to eventually provide the super charger network for non Teslas.

I know Audi kind of popularized the cascading indicator lights but imo it's already starting to get old, now that a lot of other brands are copying it onto lower class cars. Oh and those rims are terrible, lol. Beautiful car though...

The Tesla Roadster was a very stylish sporty car and its the car that jump started this newer EV era.
BMW i3 is a very futuristic/modern looking EV and it certainly handles better than Toyota Prius..
The Mitsubishi i-MiEV, and the first generation Nissan Leaf, I would consider to be sorta Prius like..

I really like Audi, I currently have the last gen A4 with the facelift (2014) but their new designs still look really nice compared to what a lot of other manufacturers are doing…. Aka bmw and I might be in the minority but I prefer this over the Taycan

For so much money I would prefer to buy a Tesla plaid. I think for the time being the legacy automakers still have a lot catching up with Tesla Maybe the 2nd or 3rd generation of these cars can compete with Tesla's car's strong points such as power, efficiency, software and recharge grid.
the tesla model s plaid's chassis and suspension is generally not as sporty as the taycan or the rs etron. But people who really care about handling don't really buy electric cars because they are not even near as playful as combustion engine cars as of now, so yeah model s plaid is bang for the buck.
@@vandita3695 Well said. But I believe the Tesla plaid will be a better GT car for most people than E Tron being more tuned for comfort and having better range. If you want an ev sport car (and not GT) maybe buy a Taycan, but for me it is as pointless as buying a big heavy sport SUV with big rims lower ride height and compromised interior space and luggage space being equally bad as SUV and as sport car. Go buy a Porsche 911 variant instead.
I take the premium awesome looking RS GT over plaids outdated chassis with panels gaps, poor quality, bad handling/brakes……. Tesla is NOT a premium brand 🤠
@@biturbo1904 I agree with you that Tesla have I lot catching up to do as far as build quality is considered but I am always after value for money and I think Audi or overpriced for what they offer. Having said that I really like the design and looks of it and I totally get why people buy them. I used to like much more Audi from BMV and Mercedes 10 to 20 years ago when they mass produce the first turbo engines and all wheel drive and consider them to be at the cutting edge of technology. Unfortunately nowdays they lag behind in the EV technology. All the German automotive industry had invested heavily in diesel technology and I believe they didn't expect the EV market to grow so fast. Now they playing catch-up. All these models are in their first generation and I wouldn't like to be a beta tester for their new technologies. Tesla on the other hand is at least 5 years ahead as far as EV technology is conserved.
Have you tried RS GT or a Taycan turbo/turbo S ? You have to, a am a ex owner of 2 performance Tesla’s, finely you can baying a real good German performance ev, is so freakin awesome to drive, compering too Tesla, bad handling, breaks, lights, seats………….Tesla don’t have, night vision, head up display, matrix light, laser light, ceramic brakes, no sport seats, bad seat for sporty driving’s, rear wheel steering………

What a horrendous colour 😱
Excellent car except for one cruical property that makes a real GT-car, range. Only 300km is massive failure for a useable GT-car.
In the review it used 23,7 kw/100km so even with the highspeed autobahn kilometers the range is 350km which is outstanding. This means you can get well 400+km with a 20kw/100km energy consumption. But even then with a 270kw charge you can gain 100km with 5 minutes charging. You must be driving a hell of a lot if this isn't enough.
Always some range-whiners in the comment section. All of which have one thing in common: they have never owned and usually haven't even sat in an EV.
I quite like it but it seems quite compromised, especially in the rear. It’s supposed to be a GT car but it’s luggage and passenger space is quite limited. It’s a cool looking car though. I would probably rather a larger car like an A8 but with a similar drivetrain :)
