    Very sensible budget mods you've done. Thanks for taking the time to share them. You just earned another subscriber. Greetings from a rare Enfield owner in the USA! I've got one of the old "Iron Barrel" model 2005s in that green "Military" trim forbidden by law in India except for the military and police. You hardly ever see Enfields here, but that might slowly change with those new 650 twins. Thanks again, Bro! And well done.

    Getting myself a Thunderbird. This really helped me with sorting out what I wanted on my bike!

  • @Jk-ql5ig
    @Jk-ql5ig 5 років тому +27

    2 years before i met with a minor crash on my Thunderbird with those RD handle bar( after market ) and i found out that those handle bars got bend and i had to cancel that journey . They will even bend if your motorcycle slips down from the side stand so it's better for you (long distance riders) to use alternative handle bars from the showroom itself ie: you can fix handle bars of Himalayan or interceptor 650 and they are more reliable , you can fix those handle bar guards on them 😊

      I don't think even RE handle bars are strong enough. I was using my stock handle bar(Now i have RD) until i met with a minor accident. My bike didn't fall down, but the on sudden break the bike slipped and moved forward and stopped by hitting on the exhaust of another bike. Everyone including me thought my bike had no issues, but soon after the ride i gave it for service and found my bike had handle bar bent, wheel alignment change and fork bent. It was a very minor accident but the cost of repair was 6k. :(

    The bike looks great. Just one suggestion, change the brake fluid, brake fluid can go off over time, it's hygroscopic, it attracts moisture and will corrode the metal in your brake system over time. Just flush out and replace the brake system with new fluid ;-) I do it every year or so to keep the brakes in tip top condition, If your brake fluid is discoloured you are already in trouble......

    Very nice modification jobs.
    I have also changed the handlebar to RD and have done the same stickering work on the speedometer console.
    Not sure about the practicality of the front headlight grill but wouldn't that decrease the illumination of the light (not in a considerable amount but still)?
    What kind of paint job have you done on the front suspension?
    Also check Apache's mirror, it looks better and have littile more visibility than the stock one. And why not have the aux light as a backup incase the chinese headlight gives up?
    Coincidentally I have the "I don't trash my travel" at the same place as you. 😁
    Happy Riding.
