Great campaign, love watching the submarine combat - a nice change from the many videos showing surface transits in the Strait of Hormuz. Oh and this mission shows how broken torpedoes are right now. Veering off from a sub 2 feet in front of their face, not acquiring. Very frustrating.
7:22 “If he starts searching here, I am screwed” One of the best ways to make a torpedo start searching at a point is to drop a noisemaker. Which you did. And of course noisemakers do not exist in a vacuum. In space, no one can hear a noisemaker cry because they cannot make noise. And yes, cold waters, while arcade-y, is much better at controlling your torpedoes, but if you want to program in stuff like minimum and maximum depths (to avoid surface vessels for example) you might want sub command. The stuttering may be caused by a memory leak + limits on how much (or little) RAM the engine is able/willing/restricted to require, forcing a garbage collection, stopping everything, but returning very little free memory, which fills up, forcing a garbage collection… lather, not even rinsing, repeat immediately.
Im not sure if youre aware and i certainly dont mean to backseat or anything, but there is a "Cease fire" button if you right click your unit (in this case the Arkhangelsk), which will make said unit stop all actions and return to moving to waypoints. So if you ever want to not fire a torpedo for whatever reason, that is an option. Love your vids!
Thanks for this videos! I really loved watching and playing this campaign! It's very refreshing since 90% of big Soviet antiships missiles stopped working, making surface mission unplayable or too boring/difficult. I also recommend you "The silence service". It's an other submarine campaign with very unique and interesting missions. By the way, I think that the last Los angeles sub died by the tigerfish torp! It stopped circulating in your Oscar position and headed right it to an area that matched with the last heading of that sub. Also it could died by an increasing flooding by the hit of the initial Uset-71. But to me, it was very clear that the tigerfish was tracking it. The USET-80 aren't wire guided, that's why you couldn't did it.
Thanks for playing Stealth! I loved watching and honestly never imagined a content creator like yourself playing through some of my missions! - Chris (I changed my YT name and pfp lol)
It was a pleasure! Also inspired me to set up my own campaign. 2 missions ready. If you ever build another please let me know and mention this one so I pay attention ;)
@@Stealth17Gamingyeah I think the problem with that mission was a result of whatever problem seems to have arisen with the type 12 mod. Also that mission was a cool concept in my head, just tough to execute.
@@Stealth17Gaming Might I also suggest perhaps finishing Pacific Strike '85 too? The latter missions are intense and would probably make great content. I personally especially liked the last mission, Strike on Manila.
Wild how soviet ASMs never go for chaff and soviet torps never go for noisemakers. From everything I see here and when I play it's strangely consistent.
What are the active sonar ranges when you need to start to worry about exposing your flank to torpedoes? It makes sense to go perpendicular to the torpedo in order to get out of its way. But in so doing, you present a larger ping return.
Hi Stealth, Yeah, I see others have alerted you to the British sub you missed early on. But, later, you knew that he was out there. And you had a great idea as to where. May i suggest the use of wire-guided torpedoes as secondary sonar, so to speak. If nothing else, make the Brit make the mistake. Cheers!
OK, I have just searched 1247 scenarios on steam workshop for sea power and cannot locate any silent hand scenarios. I would like to play these. How do I find them?
3:00: Man, this camera rig sucks. They really should have put spotlights on it. How else are the people going to see the glory of the Motherland's navy? LOL 27:06: So, my question is: how many aircraft are currently up off the Nimitz?
It's not the card, it's the game. It's poorly optimized (if at all). The longer a scenario goes on and the more things are happening (noise makers seem to add lag) the worse it gets. My system specs are in the description.

Yeah it was a really enjoyable campaign to play! Glad you enjoyed watching it :). I'll look into the silence service.
Sea power needs a weapons control system similar to what we see in cold waters
Who else is at 11:50 screaming at the screen: "Please look at the K-299, or at the Event log"

Great to hear :). I really enjoyed this campaign series
@@Stealth17Gaming Is there a 6th mission? The steam page says there's the 5 missions, and then a final mission for each of the sides?
@@bigpoppa1234 Yes I skipped one mission because it was too boring to show

@@1sleepr Possibly. It just seemed to be racing for the zone. Only thing NATO had was a minesweeper. I thought the idea for the mission was good!
I can heartily recommend the Sea Power campaigns Never Fade Away and Pacific Meltdown. Both have very entertaining missions and are challenging.
Thanks. I have it on my to-do list. There are so many good scenarios out there!

@ChaosphereIX Yeah I'll add it to my list
Great vid, we are very slippery.
Stealth posts a Sea Power video, I watch and like
You should do a cold waters Mike sub series. It's a challenging sub to use.
3:10 you have the stallion bro why are you shooting regular slow ass torps 🙃🙃
It was all a ruse!
No CBG?! Robbed! lol

When you have the wire on a torpedo. Can you distinguish between where to start active sonar, zig zagging and circular pattern? Can you set depth?

Yeah I should have done that
It’s a shame that most of the Sea Power scenarios don’t have a “play on” option… you did the hard part, & deserve the payoff of a carrier hunt.

Just click the link in the description dude.
Wow
Shame the performance is so bad, really hurts my enjoyment

Yeah and this was with brightening the video in editing!
Great Ambush, poor video quality , the game has issues. Needs more work. How can 6 subs cause such issues ?
Not sure. Maybe it's the noise makers? The keep generating a lot of contacts as you sometimes detect the noise maker. Just guessing here.
I'm curious as to what video card you're using to get that bad frame rate.

Sea Power is in Early Access; it's still being developed and at this point, won't be optimized much.
@@empath69 Which I don't mind. I'd rather have a better AI to fight
