I love my Mtn Cur. She's 5, never been hunted til I got her. Loves being in the woods and took to squirrel hunting like it was nothing. Only issue is she's gun shy 😂
Gun shy can be fixed most of the time. Just bang on a pan or something every day when you feed and after a week or two of that you can start shooting a cap gun around her and always reassuring her it’s okay while doing so. Then just work up to your hunting gun. Pay attention to the dog and don’t force the progress.
Ol Betty brought her "A" game today. 👍👍 I didn't figure you would like them segmented rounds, they were originally made for self defense. Its hard to beat a .36 grain hollow point. Good music, good dog work and a fine hunt.
Looks like you & Betty had a good day with a lot of fun.Does Betty ever give you that look of " I did my part now do yours " ? Dogs say a lot with their eyes. Lol
I can’t imagine doing it without one. We used to make one drop with deer dogs in the morning and spend the rest of the day and part of the night looking for our dogs. Things have changed .
I love Betty. Always good to see her work. Very well trained!

@@22waysoutdoors Thanks, man! I'll have to try that out
I have that same shirt. Been wearing it for 30 years, I wish they made them still.
Yep, I haven’t found anything that I like better.

Wish we had open timber like that ,it is so thick here in S.E. LOUISIANA. Can't beat a mt.cur.

What line is Betty from?
Tree Knocking Mike is the only name you’d recognize on her paperwork.
