    Metz: you're a super personable guy. Down to earth, relatable and very much likeable. I know it's a pain to pump out content but, trust me, this so good for you professionally. Im in advertising... You're a marketable dude. Keep it up and much luck to you!!

      thanks- that actually means a lot to me. Recently being dropped by my 2 biggest sponsors motivated me to get rolling here again. Hopefully more people and brands will agree with you!

    Awesome video Justin! I think it would be cool to hear new things you are in learning or focusing on like swim and run form. Any little tips and stuff you have learned over the years are priceless to age groupers like me!

    For me depends on the weather. If it is nice I have done laps at my work parking lot to hit a even mile number or I have cut it short.

    Love the the increase in content, keep it up the good work, can’t wait to watch you at your next race! Question for you… When you’re going through your intervals, are you targeting effort or watts? Whenever I try to do extended intervals here in the Loveland-Boulder area, it’s so hard to keep the high watt avg with the rolling terrain around here?

    • @bigjmetz11
      @bigjmetz11  Рік тому

      thanks for the kind message!
      99% of the time I'm aiming for watts. I totally understand what you're saying. for specific workouts I do find myself going more on flat roads near my house in Longmont and up towards Carter Lake/ Berthoud rather than the mountains for that exact reason. I also found it to be really beneficial to have the right gearing here for training. You want a big chainring up front to be able to push on the downhills and the tailwinds but also something small enough to climb the steep stuff. I'd look into that if you just have standard gearing. I'm running 56-44 up front and 11-28 on the back.

    • @abrahamscott5163
      @abrahamscott5163 Рік тому

      @@bigjmetz11 Thank you so much for the detailed response! I think gearing may of been the issue, I think I'll contact my bike shop and see if I can upgrade my gear ratios. Thank you again

    What is the recovery times on the bike intervals?
    How do those numbers compare to your ftp? 80% of ftp for example?

      4' on the 4's and 8' on the 8's. My FTP is around 375 here at altitude.
