- The Mann-Whitney test can be considered a possible alternative to the parametric independent samples t-test when certain distributional assumptions (e.g., normality) are not met for that test. This video provides a general walk-through of how to generate and interpret Mann-Whitney test results using the most up-to-date non-parametric test options in SPSS. (It does not cover the use of the legacy dialog approach)

Hi! Great way to explain the MWU test. I will be happy if you could elaborate on the group distribution as shown in figure. I mean in the context of "median values". In both the situation when two groups of distribution are similar and not similar.
Does while writing the reaults in case of distribution are not similar then to mention the mean rank alone ir it's a choice of researcher?
