- Tensions flared at a Thornton Township budget meeting. The attendance of Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard, who also serves as Thornton Township Supervisor, caused controversy in the room as many residents expressed outrage over recent allegations against her.

That is not how politics works. An election is held every four years. Vote her out when she runs again.
Recall is an option, however the person launching it has to pay for it, and it could get into the hundreds of thousands of bucks to pay for it. (depending on the office being recalled) so it just doesn't happen.
There was a recall but it was dismissed by a judge.
@@pascowindYes there was a recall and she lost. It was overturned because the folks who set it up made a big blunder in the way they structured the vote. They tried to create the right to recall and the recall of Henyard herself all in the same election. Henyard argued that didn't fly and she won the argument. They should have created the right to recall and after they got it had the recall of Henyard in a subsequent election. I'm sure they did it because it's time consuming and expensive to do these things and their resources were limited, but unfortunately the gamble didn't pay off for them.

She should be suspended until the FBI has finished their preliminary investigation and release their findings. She should not be permitted to continue making decisions about money.

It hasn’t even been since the beginning of this year, I think it maybe premature to assume she won’t face any consequences, the misappropriation of funds seems pretty clear even if nothing else could be proven.

People are asking the wrong questions: how many properties does Henyard currently own, how did she acquire them, with whose funds, when? She has a number of previously pwned properties: how did she purchase them, when, with whose money and how much did she make when selling those properties? This is all public information so she can attempt to sue you for exposing her. This goes wayyyyy deeper than you think!!! I'm wondering if the FBI is investigating this as well. Red bottom shoes to a median income community meeting??? This is what a non thinking, uncaring person would do. Look at her in totality and not just the BMW she bought for her boyfriend, allegedly, the paving of her mother's driveway!!!, the Tahoe. If she paid exorbitant interest on vehicles, her credit is questionable, how on earth does she own two properties and sold about six? It does not add up.. Aim higher and stop arguing over the petty BS. Her ignorance, stupidity and harsh words toward her constituents and shallowness won't change. Go to her pocketbook where it hurts the most. @sunnyday3327 They tried recalling her once before, and a judge stepped in and stopped it. I assume, the law prevents further attempts to recall her. The Governor, State Attorney, and County Attorney are all democrats and clearly have no interest in what these constituents are going through.

The budget was approved because they were out of time. Do you understand now why she cancelled the meeting last Tuesday and postponed it to Friday, May 31st, the very last day to approve a budget?

If you're being investigated by the FBI for fraud, there's no way you should be able to go anywhere near a city budget. If a cashier is suspected of stealing they get taken off the register.
