Pita has lead his party to victory free and clear without paying people to vote for him. The victory was clean and straightforward, which no other political party in Thailand has done before. Pita and his party continue to work hard to ensure that the Thai people receive all benefits they deserve. If Pita gets a chance to be the prime Minister of Thailand, we believe from what we have seen he and his party’s work that he will greatly improve the system and lead Thailand to world recognition. There will be less corruption, the police and military will have better benefits and treatment, the older generation will be taken good care of. The young generation will have better opportunities and good future. The people of Thailand will have a justice system that is fair to all, not just the rich. Currently the rich and powerful can do no wrong and jail is only the poor. The environment will be protected and maintained. There will be a great system to ensure garbage and dangerous chemicals will be properly disposed of, without harming the environment and the lives of the people. Currently, Pita is facing the old powerful establishments who are trying to block him from becoming government because the establishments are afraid that they would not be able to control the people and their corruption will be stopped. It has been more than twenty years that the establishments prevented and dissolved any party or people who tried to lead Thailand to a true democracy.
What Pita didn’t say is how/why these senators are so powerful, so powerful they could block the winner. Where were their power coming from and how ugly this senate process is.
Prayuth wants to be re-elected, so he designed the constitution to be elected twice by the senators. Unfortunately, his party lost heavily, so he has to give the post to the current PM.
Fluent articulate and macro - he should lead the country some time - the last time we witnessed a similar articulate person was Khun Anand - an Oxford graduate
This man took all the trouble required of a political candidate in order to become a Thai PM, eventually he rise up to all challenges and won in a free and fair manner. He should be the next PM as a candidate for the biggest winning political party, not becoming an opposition leader by any deliberate political scam.
PITA, he should be the rightfully PM by now if not of the thai military denies him the premiership. He won by a much bigger majority ever in the thai history. Secondly he is well verse in the English language too. Most appropriate to become the PM of Thailand.
Thai military did not prevent him from being a PM. He did it to himself by wanting to abolish monarchy so he didn’t get enough support from other parties to form the government. Thai system does not elect the PM and his supporters are not a majority when the whole population are over 65millions.
As one of Thai people included in 14M vote for him and his party and I wish to see new Thailand future development and competition with other countries. We will support you and looking forward to see you (Pita) as PM of Thailand. Only your party and your project is seem to be new and interesting, not so compromised however it might be able to reduce the corruption and not help the influence /millionaires family.
As a Thai citizen, I’m so proud of you Pita. How shameful that in the next election, we got no chance of having you to be our candidate PM. Keep moving People’s party. Never give up and instead we turn the anger into power. Can’t wait when the time comes, every single vote will count. We’ll give them a lesson.
They disrespected the people's voices. It won't be a problem if Thailand is admitted that it's a totalitarian state. But since Thailand claimed to be "Democratic-monarchy", the oppression to people's voices raised the constitutional problem.
The voice of the people is reflected through the number of MPs who vote to choose the Prime Minister. which Mr. Pitha is not in the majority. Therefore he did not become Prime Minister. It's that simple.
Mr. Pita, don’t stop fighting, this is not the end “ it’s the beginning “, if not every citizen has free speech under the same law , there is no democracy.,
Thailand should now have a visionary-brave leader like Pita. However, the Invisible hand(s) does not EXIST only in Free economics, but also in Thailand’s politics , too 🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊
It's absolutely a distortion of facts. The facts are his party received more votes than other parties but the total votes were only about 30% of the total voters who went to the poll to cast their votes nation wide. He, his party & everyone/every party knew that based on the 30% votes his party won, his party got only about 151 MPs out of the 500 total MPs plus 250 Senators, which was not enough to win the right to be the ruling government outright. Just like many democratic countries around the world & even in Europe, his party was given the right first to form a coalition government which they tried by courting the Phue Thai party that won about 140 MP seats. But the combined total was still below half of 750 - so, they lobbied hard for the 250 senators to vote for them. However, they failed so badly to win a sizable vote from the senators because these senators (seasoned professionals from all specialized fields with proven success in their long career who are more mature & not belonging to any political party) deemed that Pita & his party did not have all the qualifications required to be the Prime Minister and the party to be the gov't for the nation.
* Thailand's political landscape is comprised by multiple parties. * In any election, a party winning more than 250 elected officials(votes) can automatically becomes the government. * Or, the winning party with less than 250 votes has the first right to form a coalition government, this is where the Move Forward party failed stemming from their policy to change/abolish article # 112 ( lese majeste) with which no other parties wanted to get involved. * After the Move Forward party failed to form the government, the right went to next party (PuaThai). * There were many power plays involved, but it's politics at national level where it's a survival of the fittest.
Democracy is not for the country full of stupid and corruptions. We need better people having right to vote, so better leader, then better country. Every country needs a strong and good leader who capable of making a better quality people in the country. This guy is playing “a fresh new hope” but it is not true.
