Iv watched some vids on how to build, just to get a mini three wall tall stone cube base to prevent the hostiles from getting my dinos ...but every time I try to build even uneven surfaces even after watching all these, it looks like I hired the dudes "who can do it for cheaper". This legit blows my mind

Started really well, you showed what you did correctly. Then toward the middle of the video, you decided to cut alot of the build which messed me up. Nice
A lot of the middle part was underwater, while editing it wasn't easy to follow so a cut it out. Thanks for your feedback though 🙂

Just an fyi...You can stack large crop plots and access them through the sides to increase amount of crops per square meter. Either different, or same crops in each stack. I usually do stacks of 4.

I started a new playthrough and just built my new base here, modeled after this base design. I made my own changes in various places, but the skeleton of the build is very much the same. I did also build in the natural dino pen area of herbi Island and will also build a small bridge as a straight shot from one side to the other so i don't have to run all the way around every time I want to get to the other side... I can just cut across.
I know it’s been 3 months but do you remember if you needed any more to complete the build?
@@user-ph6ll3dy3i I don't know the exact or even rough estimates on amount of resources needed to pull this off. That's the short answer.
However, I do know that I was able to cut costs in some areas of the build, and I spent more resources in others because of my own ideas to add to the build. If you are playing pve or singleplayer, I would suggest focusing on *one* part of the build at a time so you don't get overwhelmed by the resource load or just get bored and give up. Just build one section at a time and take a short break after each part (even if you think you can keep going). After building that first bridge like he did in this video, you will have a pretty good idea how much you need of each resource going forward to the next parts.
Some of my personal changes:
I don't have my garden in that same spot, but instead have it and my kibble farm in the large open space surrounded by the cliff edges. I have built on top of most of the sand on herbivore island, but left the inclines and all the grassy areas alone for the easy and still massive amounts of resources available in those spots.
I have a small ovis farm at the back with only 6 females, my main housing is extended off of the crafting area shown in this video on the sand near the behemoth gate, a large dino pen on the other side of the horse shoe (the other tip), i have anither water pen on the side facing the mainland. There is a decently large stretch of somewhat shallow water around the outside of herbi Island that is large enough to fit any water dinos and it is still shallow enough for behemoth gates to breach the waters surface and stop wild dinos from coming in, so I surrounded that entire area with behemoth gates and I store my dunkylosaurus' there for easy access to oil nodes in the water close by. My bridges connecting each of those little mini islands is 3 or 4 wide instead of 2 wide so I can ride or land larger dinos on it easily.

So at like 19:13 you place a stone foundation and immediately after you place another one to the right of it for me it’s says obstructed any solutions?
Show use how you build the green tower, why did you skip it? And how much Items it took to make all structures

You're worried about people being upset that if you build in the stone cove you are blocking metal spawns. I would be more angry that you are building over the explorer note. You can't just "go somewhere else for that" the metal is attainable elsewhere. Just a thought
Depends on the type of server you play on. I play on PVE friendly servers that if you wanted the note you only need ask. Shutting off metal nodes is more a worry on a busy server. Thanks for your comment though, good to get other peoples point of view :)
try it last night on mobile and it works great but structure height limit make me can't build over the behemoth gate.. i could try to use geopolymer pillars but will need to grind like hell again

This is a great build. I have a question though. I tried building on the sand fingers and made a great looking structure. But later when I tried to add the fabricator, I could not place it on the stone floor. When I first build i could place anything I wanted. This happened after about a week's worth of game time. Any suggestions? I play solo of PS4.

Technically yes. I'd start that at the very beginning though, like figure that out as part of the initial foundation placement. I have a video about building on uneven ground that might help you too 🤷

Do you have the numbers for how many pillars, foundations etc that you need for this?
Sorry I don't recall how many no. The last time I built this out of creative mode, probably took me a day of grinding to gather and craft all the parts to make it. You can cut down the amount of pillars needed by taking the bridge with the gate in it from the lower level where I put the generator and air conditioners, as it's a straight run rather than dog legging.

Now why would you skip passed the most important part… I’m trying to figure out how you placed all that foundation under water because once I start getting to the incline with all the coral I can no longer place anything down and I can’t seem to build up and then back off it with the foundation…. Please help
This is some next level shit. Im scared of water. Not sure if I can do this. Im new player. Do the island give enough stones for me to move my base here? Just caught my first flying dino level 2 or something. So not much space to move resources woth ptsomething dino

I should add i got everything else to stay but that i delete the wall connection point and the pointed top falls every time
As much as this base is really cool, but probably will be a nightmare without tek gears to fly up and down. I tried to build a really easy base and the pillar mechanic is killing me.
How do you zoom out so far to see things from above?
On PC you press K and use the mouse wheel to zoom out. Not sure what the controls are on consol but the Ark wiki has the info. Can't read the button selection on my phone sadly. Hope this helps 🙂

When I do creative mode just use the tek builds

this looks so much fun in creative mode. but in the real game, the resource requirement is just too ridiculous imo. Devs did some serious plans of taking our life away with this mechanics
Check out Herbivore Island Revisited. I built this very base on Phlinger Phoo's Phoo Phighter server. He even has 2 videos showing the base, in stone and later in Tek. Anything is possible with some hard work dude 🙂
