I have driven a few of them the 1324, the 1735, the 2435, the 26.321... oops that was a MAN.... Double oops those were trucks...😜 The only Merc passenger car I drove was a 560 SEC. (Exactly once. It belonged to the boss of a haulage company I worked for and I had to drive the car to the garage.... Four K's away... Truckies memories 🤣) I don't have much other experience with Merc, but.... 1/43 is a scale that allows a super abundance of detail👍🏼. And two models in particular caught my eye. (7:40) S-Class I love these classics from the 70s. An industrial supplies dealer in our town had one and it turned every head in town. (By the way... Headlight-wipers were a speciality at Merc in the 70s and everyone who bought one wanted them). Oh yes... Most of the taxis here are Mercs. (Otherwise you only really see Audis as taxis. And most of them are in this pale yellow colour. It's probably the standard colour, like most taxis in London are black...🤔 (9:24) S-Class, 60s The hubcaps are quite typical for the Mercs of the 60s. In body colour with the Merc-badge in chrome. (I always liked that🙄😁) A lot of Merc drivers who had a trailer back in the days also bought these hubs for their trailers.... And the windscreen wipers were mounted in a very interesting way. One quite far to the left and one quite far to the right. They ran in opposite directions and were in the middle when not in use. This created a very large field of vision in the rain. (Great safety aspect👍🏼 Otherwise you only see this on buses). OK, I don't know much else about Merc, so I had a bit of a "Klönschnack". (pronounced: Klœn-shnuck, with pronounciation of the letter "ö" like in "fur"... North German slang for sitting around with mates, having a coffee or a coldie and chatting). The only driving experience I've had with a Merc, is the time my missus had a bingle, and we were loaned a little compact A class. And the thing I remember most about it, was that the wiper and indicator stalks were on the opposite sides to most Aussie cars. Lets just say those wipers got a good workout !🤣 Thanks T. 👍🇦🇺 👨🚒

Very lucky for those living in European countries to still find them for cheap, these older Mercedes releases are extremely rare in Asia, specifically Indonesia where I'm from as they were so limited and no longer produced. The only way to get them is from the secondhand markets with often insanely inflated prices ranging for $50-80 a piece due to how sought after they are, especially the iconic models and those made by AutoArt.
Amazing collection! these cars are all very rare 1/43 nowadays as they seem to be old releases. I am from Indonesia and it's practically impossible to find those classic or early 2000s Mercedes sold in the dealerships here anymore, they have mostly long sold out and are in the hands of collectors. Only the newer 2017+ year models are available for grab. The second-hand market is the only way you can acquire these models and they go up to $80 each here due to rarity.
Wow, quite tempting but luckily 1:43 is off limits here, so I can enjoy the show. Love this bunch of Mercs. Luckily Schuco, Kyosho and MiniGT 1:64 Mercs. Hell of a sub-collection!
They look great! I think they should throw in a scale diecast with any car purchase imo ;D Yea it's interesting how the brands for dealer models vary. Some very nice Mercedes there, and great range of ages, great video :)
The one you couldn't identify and said it looked like it said "XD" as maker's name, was from IXO, one of the world's biggest diecast makers in the 1/43th scale, doing both mid-price models and relatively low-budget models, including the so-called "kiosk models", sold in big themed series on subscription or from kiosks, always accompanied by a leaflet describing the car and some background info on the car company and/or the time period it belongs to. Almost every car make has its own kiosk-collection and very often these models are made by IXO.
